  1. After successful expedite request through Congressman, I got my EAD within two weeks and our case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

Our initial application was on January 9th but we got an RFE and we replied that RFE on March 2nd.

Good luck everyone and if your application takes more time than it suppose to be, I recommend everyone to expedite request through Congressman.

  2. Hello all,

My wife worked abroad for three years during that time she never filed her taxes. She filed her foreign income tax with an accountant back in December 2017.

Now I am looking at the IRS transcripts and her Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc section is $51,254 and her other income section is -$51.254. And her Total Income looks ZERO.

So her total income for 2016 and 2015 is Zero and 2014 is $16.000

Does it look like a mistake? Or is it normal?

    Thank you.

  3. Hello everyone,

I just had my medical exam yesterday and I am going to set date for my interview. Before that I want to ask if anyone had someone retired for their "affidavit of support". First problem is, there is no section that my sponsor can state he is retired. Part 3 is all about "Employment Information" how can a retired person fill this form?

In i-864 there is a checkbox where you can say that you are retired but not in i-134.

I also want to ask, let's assume i didn't use co-sponsor for my i-134 to get my k-1 visa. Can I add co-sponsor to my case when i am applying to i-864 for Green Card? Or you can't add co-sponsor in i-864 just because you got your visa without a sponsor? Or are they completely irrelevant forms and you can add sponsor which ever you want.

Sorry, I was referring to the original notice of action 1 that you recieved in April. But this confirms that actually your recieved date is 3/4, this likely means your NOA1 is around April 6/7 which is amazing news for us April filers!
Thanks so much for the reply and I hope the process is very smooth for you! Good luck

Thank you so much. I hope everyone gets their NOA2 ASAP! What can I say is USCIS website is not updated. So look out for mail 😄

  5. If you and your fiancé live outside of the States, we both live in Turkey and here is how to make payment for I-129F.

We contacted U.S. Embassy about the issue and it is their response:

"For the payment you may contact a Turkish bank to inquire if they can prepare a cashier’s check or money order on behalf of an American bank. Certain Turkish banks have partnership with U.S. banks and issue such checks on their behalf. If you are unable to obtain a U.S. bank’s check or money order through their Turkish partners you may contact the USCIS office to inquire if the fee can be paid on your behalf by someone in the U.S."

It may vary from country to country though.

  6. Hello everyone,

Me and my fiance is going to apply for K-1 visa. I have questions about that.

    1) We are kind of confused about when to fill I-134 form. Should we send it with I-129F? Does she needs a job in the States, right now she is working in Turkey. Plus, she hasn't been doing her taxes in the States.

    2) Since we both live in Turkey, how can and where we make the necessary payment for K-1 visa?

3 ) Since we don't have a house in the States right now, we wrote my fiance's parent's address in question 28 "Address in the United States where your fiance intends to live." However when we go to the States we want to rent a house and live in our house. What should we do about that?

    Thanks.

  7. No, CR-1 is to obtain a visa to enter the US. You will not be able to enter the US while waiting for a decision. As for timing...expect 12-18 months. Usually it's closer to 12 months, but plan for it to take longer just in case it does.

Edit: I'm not sure what is meant by the 3 months. Working from home isn't the issue - working while on US soil w/o an EAD would be the issue.

Neither me or my girl friend wants to wait that long. 12 -18 months is just a crazy talk :)

Well then K-1 seems to be most rationalist move in my situation.

One more question, where do we send the K-1 file?

  8. Hello JFH,

Thanks for your super quick response.

    1) She doesn't have any assets but her family has plenty. I believe they can sponsor us. But we will be having savings around 20k I'm not sure if that helps alone.

    2) 6 months is pretty long time though but since we want to leave in summer of 2017 that's okay.

    3) Being able to work immediately sounds amazing, however i'm not willing to wait for 12 months... Let's assume we got married in Turkey and applied for CR-1, can I live in the States with my wife, while our application takes place or do I have to be in Turkey? I actually don't mind staying home for 3 months since I'm a software programmer I can work anywhere.

  9. Hello everyone,

Me and my girl friend are both living in Turkey. My girl friend is US Citizen and I am a Turkish Citizen. We want to get married and live in the USA in the summer of 2017.

I thought it would be an easy procedure but it seems it is a little bit hard and long journey.

    My questions are;

    1) Can we apply for K-1 from Turkey?

    2) We can only be leaving Turkey in the summer of 2017 due to work. What if I get my visa before that? Does it expire?

    3) Is K-1 a right choice? Since we both living in Turkey.

    Thanks in advance.
