I think it can be one of the reasons for them to deny the visa in case they suspect something. They wont necessarily deny the visa for not doing the rukhsati.

Hey guys,
So, i filed the i-130 and have a PD of Dec 8, 2016. My plan is to get the rukhsati done a few months after the interview so that as soon as we are done i can bring her out here. Reason is that i dont know if i will be able to go out there and the families will have time to prep between the time we receive the interview date and the interview happening.
Forgot to ask the actual quesion.
My question is has anyone gone through this where the rukhsati was done after the visa approval?

Does USCIS not forward all the documents they receive to NVC?

Hey guys,
I submitted my spouses i-130 in Dec 2016 and got a PD of 8 Dec 16. I sent in the below docs as part of the package.
1. Form i-130
2, My naturalization cert
3. Copy of my passports bio page
4. Copy of passport pages that had immigration stamps of various countries
5. Copy of our marriage certificate from NADRA (Governmental office) attested from the foreign office
6. Nikah Nama (Islamic Marriage Contract) in English and my native language, both attested from the foreign office
6. 1 passport size picture of each of me and my spouse,
7. g-325a, i each for both of us.
8. 1 Sworn affidavit each on a stamp paper (some sort of legal binding document, not sure what it is) from my cousin and one from my spouses uncle stating that they were present at the wedding and know us well.
9 Form I-864 (Affidavit of support)
10. 2015 tax return transcript from IRS,
11. 5 pictures, 2 of us as a couple and 3 with various people.
My question is, can i send in my spouses birth certificate and passport biographic page in advance to USCIS? How should i address the package so that it gets added to the file that they have on hand? Also would that affect the time it will take in getting processed at USCIS?
Rephrasing number 8, see below.
8. Copies Attested by a class 1 office of Sworn affidavit each on a stamp paper (some sort of legal binding document, not sure what it is) from my cousin and one from my spouses uncle stating that they were present at the wedding and know us well. The originals are with the spouse and were attested by the foreign office.

Yes, you are right, no harm in sending it in and i am just continuing to gather more evidence.
Good luck to you too!!
I front loaded mine with the 5 pics, 2 as a couple and 3 with other folks. Also added the i-846 (AOS) .
The only thing i didnt send in was my spouses passport copy, birth cert and police clearence report.

@ashular Sorry for the delay in response our wifi has been out due to snowstorms. We received the letter at my folks house in Oregon shortly after I left to return back to Macedonia. We mailed it in on the 12th, it arrived on the 15th and got the letter the 28th with receipt dated the 16th. Just checked the USCIS website to see update as it has been almost a month and nothing, just says "received".... Not sure how long to wait before calling to check up, any ideas??
K&D
From what i understand, the letter you received should have the case number and is called NOA1, the 1st 3 letters identify the location its been sent to. Then based on that you can look at the processing time for that particular service center.
According to the updates provided by members on the forums when people update their time line http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=5&option=3&sortby=2 populates and you can then check which service center is processing what dates atm.
I am not 100% but the dates might not always be accurate.
You can also check the USCIS website to see which service center is processing what dates at the moment, they are usually behind on updating the webpage though https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do
Now your wait begins as its taking USCIS minimum 4 months what i have notices to send in NOA2 if you dont have a RFE. Then to NVC and then to the consulate. So this becomes anywhere from a 9 month to a year process IMHO.
It sucks big time.
