OMG!!! I Just turned over to try and catch a few more winks before my alarm went off for work. Then I was awaken by the sound of a text message, then another, and another and more. I thought about another member saying he got a lot of texts when he was approved so I jumped up and grabbed my phone over on the nightstand. I said a prayer before I checked...APPROVED!!!!

It was approved yesterday after 255 days. Boy has this been one helluva wait. Feels like ten thousand pounds have been lifted off my back. The hardest part is over. Hang in there guys it will happen. Sending positive approval vibes to all. :D:jest:

    Congratulations!!!

Congrats. Did you get a letter in mail or your status updated online ?

I have not received a letter in the mail yet. I got a notification on the USCIS app at around 6:07 am CDT on 08/23 saying my case was approved on 08/21.

I will update my signature below the day I get the letter in mail.

There are folks who got the letter and no online notification, then there are folks who got text messages, some email then others got notification from the app and nothing from USCIS. So it varies.

Hope you get yours soon too. Hang in there.

  3. I believe November and December were the months where the most amount of petitions were filed. 1 being the elections going on and 2nd being that fact that the fees were increasing. So a lot of people filed their petitions.

Just hoping that Nebraska picks up the pace, its been the slowest service center because of the number of applications it processes every month.

I am not sure if they even have a proper process in place to share the load amongst all service centers. Also there isnt any specific method to the madness of transfers from one service center to another. Its your luck if you end up getting transferred from one to another.

I am coming up on on my 7 months too at Nebraska. :(

  4. PD DEC 8th, nothing yet either.

I have been following the Nebraska Service Center progress and its somewhere in the middle of November at the moment based on the updates on time lines people have put in So we are looking at sometime end of next month to maybe see any approvals for December.

You also have to take into account that October and November might have been the heaviest months where people filed their petitions. So that could also become a factor in the approvals going into late July

    i'm PD 9/19/16...

I'm going into 9 months days from now...

only thing they say its been viewed by a supervisor

Maybe you need to start calling them daily and ask to speak to the supervisor directly. I have read here that you end up having to leave your number and the supervisors usually call you back. I dont know if it can be relied upon every single time.

So I called just to humor myself I guess lol, got a nice guy on the line. I could tell he was reading from a script. So just for the heck of it I started asking random questions like well how come some get approved before others, why is Nebraska so slow etc. I made him chuckle. Anyway, he tells me of course they are within normal time range and since my priority date is in December and they are working on end of September that I have about three more months before I get a response:huh:...let's hope not.

yes, they always read from a script and the time they tell you is the one that is posted on the official website. And you cant trust it as its a few months old. If you look at the most recent one of September 30th its based on the numbers of March 31st.

On a random note, https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers could potentially tell us about case transfers to other locations.

Also one other thing, https://www.dhs.gov/news/2017/01/17/uscis-announces-new-approach-posting-processing-times tell us that they will post more accurate times. Like that ever going to happy any time soon (SMH).

  7. What do you mean by not list Potomac?

All the times reflected on the monthly filters page below are times reported by people. The USCIS website is never accurate as they update it when they want to and who knows how they base their dates. It might be that they are processing dates after the one they report on the website but then we see people from earlier dates getting prcessed. So its just becomes a guessing game.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=6&option=2&sortby=2

You can get an idea of when a certain month starts getting processed based on what people are reporting but as to when your application will be processed is an actual mystery.

The times reported above is what will give you an idea as to what people are seeing while the USCIS is what they are reporting. Now the actual processing of an application is dependent on a whole lot of factors, some of them listed below.

    1. Country of citizenship as there are a few countries that get their applications processed quicker as compared to others due to one reason or another, example, i believe Philippines being one of them due to some tsunami back in the day?

    2. The application being with a certain processing center

    3. The mood of the person who is reviewing the application, after all they are all humans and one being in a bad mood might delay or be slow or might leave one and move to another and then come back to it some other day. you never know.

    4. If there is a need to expedite an application.

a whole lot of other factors play into it, i dont have enough knowledge about it all.

Ok, so you can see where it shows activity then. You are in the right place. If you just see the date it was scanned, that means that nothing else has been done with the case yet. We are all in that same boat. I have been waiting over 6 months for approval and my case only shows the day it was scanned.

The August applications are being processed as we speak. You are really close. Hang in there. Pray for us who filed in December.

  9. The way its looking right now is that the Nebraska service center is taking anywhere from 5 to 7 months to process the i-130s. IDK if that time will increase or decrease as time goes on and the US president imposes or introduces different immigration policies.

Your best bet is to followhttp://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=3&option=2&sortby=2 and hope that people keep on updating their timelines properly.

You can also keep on looking at the USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and check the processing dates for the Texas service center.

Also maybe follow the progress of people on the texas service center thread under http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/
