    @Diana & Justin  story time?

How was the border crossing? Tips? Documents they asked for?

    Thank you!!

I can share our experience, we've cross twice already. First time, we let the border patrol that it was he' first time crossing so they send us to secondary inspection. There they took us to the office to get a I-94 crossing permit which cost $6. After that they explained that every time he crosses he would need to have he's permit and combo card with him. We crossed yesterday and the officer just said documents and a minute later, have a good night. and that's it :) Pleasantly well. We were nervous but everything was great.

  2. As of 2:30 am today here in San Diego, CA our status changed from response recieved to ready to schedule!!! Odd thing it says since the 19th?! But Im to excited to think about it!!! And yesterday we recieved our EAD/AP!! Wuujuuuuh!! Also we went down to the border to ask a cbp and he said that we can cross with AP card that they will send us to secondary inspection and thats all!! We are super excited!!

Can someone shed some light because i feel i am in a mess. 😔  We tried to have my name in my husbunds bank account and house bills but i dont have a ssn so it cant be done. I applied for a ssn one month before my i-94 expired. 4 weeks went by after applying and i was told it could not be done because my i94 was close to or just expired (I cant remember what the guy said), so basically i have no documents to prove my marriage is legit except photos, marrige cert, and chat logs. Im so worried this is not enough. 😞

In our experience we went to Wells Fargo and added him to my account. They didnt ask for a ssn only for our marriage certificate and he's passport. Same for our Gas & electric, renters agreement and water. I don't know what cable company you have but I know COX and AT&T dont ask for ssn but you do have to pay a deposit. From now on ask everything to be in your and your spouse's name. I have family members that are immigrants and they have everything under their name in Texas, don't know why you can't? Try again. You shouldn't have a problem.

Last Friday, I called to ask about my EAD and got transferred to a  T-2 officer within a minute ( i was actually shocked) , he went through the database and told me that i should be getting an interview soon 🧐 . He went on to say that the IO that is working on my case hasnt updated the record on the website yet and that there is no hold on my case (Response to RFE was satisfactory). Regarding the EAD, he told me to call back if i dont hear anything by Wednesday. I hope he's right though.  I've been out of the workforce for too long 😈.

I'd like to call them again today, but i'm fighting the urge to do so 😏

Let us know what happens tomorrow 😁

I'm confused about when we can expect my wife's EAD/AP combo card to arrive in the mail. Is there any consistency to these things?

We received the I-797 Notice of Action letter in the mail on October 29, saying her case was approved for EAD and AP. (Action date on the letter is listed as Oct. 25).

When we log into her My USCIS Account site, it lists status "Case Was Approved."  The other site, the USCIS Case Status Online one, just lists status "My Fingerprint Was Completed."

I've read that the card can take 10-14 days after approval. But I've also read that the status should change to "Card Being Mailed" before they actually send the card out. Is that true?  Or do you think the card is already in the mail??

Hi!! Has your EAD/AP card arrived yet? Im asking cause same thing happen to me right now. Yesterday EAD changed to “card being produced” today “case was approved” so Im a bit confused. Its been 10 days for you soo just wanted an update?

Its been a busy month but finally have time to sit down and write this out.

On Nov 6, had my greencard interview at San Jose office. Had to wait almost half an hour after my appt. time even though we rocked up earlier than the time. (So about 45-50 min wait). The lady was very nice. She went through the i-485 form questions and updating any changes (my new job, husband's job promotion with salary and title etc.) We provided some forms from our original packet that she said she couldn't find in the packet in front of her. She asked some questions about us, how we met, if we met each other's families, if we plan to have kids etc. She took our evidence of relationship (photos with family, lease agreement, health insurance etc) After the interview she took my fingerprint and gave us a letter about the process and that we are pending approval. Later that night around 7pm, I got a text update saying that it was approved.

According to the updated status, Green card will be in my hand today. Nov 15.

    Lucky!! Congrats!!

I'm currently on hold for USCIS. We are now officially outside the normal processing times and it won't let me file an inquiry online! :ranting:

I tried all day yesterday and nothing. i tried a minute ago and got through., :) Did they tell you anything new? Sorry I just saw your other post. Try right now and see if you can get an inquiry. :)

What??? :( That’s so sad!! Getting emergency AP was actually really easy for me. Both times I walked into my local office (Detroit) explained/told the receptionist “I need an emergency appointment”

I then saw the officer and explained my situation. In April my Gran passed away and in September my uncle passed.

Both times I had straight forward, easy experiences. I walked out with AP documents in hand the same day. Emergency AP allows you to leave for 30 days from the day it is issued.

If you don’t mind my asking - what is the urgency for you to go home??? Where is your local field office??

Question did they ask you for proof? My husbands sister is sick and shes getting an operation but we haven't asked her for paperwork becuase we are still thinking about an emergency AP. Do you recommend it?

Yes! I have the app and it is saying “case received” and in the uscis website (logged with my account) “case was approved” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then I received a letter of approval notification, but still not getting the card by mail.

Also I don’t have a tracking usps number. How did he know that the card was waiting in the post office?

at this point call USCIS o ask for the tracking number if it was approved they should of send the card days after. The app was the one who notified my cousin when the card was already there.

I have received the approval 2 weeks ago but no other updates. No card being processed or email notification.

I don’t know how long it would take. What dates your cousin had? My approval was October 10.

Did you check on the app? I dont get updates on the website because its not upto date. My cousin had to go pick hers up at the post office. So maybe the same App is case tracker for USCIS (it has a flag as the background and a eagle circled. :) Maybe who knows its been waiting for you at the post office :)
