  1. Okay, I assume you guys are all aware of the USCIS page I quoted above saying file the I129F after the I-130 to get a K4. Is the reason to forget the K4 about the processing times being the same and it's just not relevant to do?
  2. My step child is 12 years old. Sorry I meant to say file the I-130 and then asking if I can do the I-129F to get a K-4 Hey thanks! I know you know what you're talking about but this USCIS page is what is confusing me. Under the "Can my child come to the United States to live while the visa petition is pending?" it says: https://www.uscis.gov/family/bring-children-to-live-in-the-US But there is no mention of my wife needing a K-3 visa, it just says after filing the I-130? Hey thanks a lot!
  3. Hey thanks, yeah she is scheduled in about a mouth at the consulate. Sorry I should have said file the I-130 and then asking about if the I-129F was possible.
  4. My wife has recently gotten her appointment scheduled, her daughter was planning to stay and live with her biological dad for a while and didn't want to leave her friends yet. Anyway things have changed it seems as the biological father's family is jealous or something, but my question is can I apply now for a K-4 for my step-child? My wife is at the interview stage so she is not a K-3 visa, can I still file for my step-child to come now? Using the I-129F? Any info one the best way to handle it at this stage would be great! Thanks!
  5. Hey thanks! I've been in the USA for 11 months now with my daughter. i've read in many threads about people including letters and while I understand certain explanations may be required, should there be some type of letter that is always included? And in that vein would I then include a letter stating I returned to USA such and such date and am living here now with my daughter? I'm also thinking for proof of domicile to include some bank or credit card transactions. Sorry if this is silly but could I redact all the transactions except for ATMs (which display location in the charge description) and submit as many months as sufficient? Would 6 months be good or too much, too little? Thanks for the help!
  6. Hey thanks! I've been living here for 11 months does that count as livelihood or is that referring to paystubs/USA income proof? I have credit card bills sent to my residence as well as it's listed on my bank accounts, would providing this be the same as a driver's license since I could have this while being outside the country too?
  7. Hey I totally get what you mean but isn't a drivers license listed in their examples of what to upload for proof of domicile? I figured the driver's license was accepted because of this but I was curious if they included it in the 'must bring original documents of everything submitted', because it would be impossible to bring the a joint sponsor's license. My residence is the same property as the joint sponsor but in a different building, I pay a small amount of rent for upkeep and electricity but no utility bills are in my name, I also don't have a rental agreement because it's not really like that, it's my family. My daughter is in the public school system under this address as well if that makes any difference, curious as to any thought on domicile proof, would 2021 tax transcript provide this? Thanks for any suggestion you might have!
  8. Should I upload all the proof of assets individually, such as each months bank statements, or combine 12 months into 1 PDF showing the year? Same question for 3 different multi-page documents that are all 'proof of assets' for the one same assets, combine into 1 long pdf or upload individually? In this thread the OP mentions reading about others getting an RFE for combining financial documents but I couldn't find any threads specifically on this Thanks a lot for any help
  9. I'm submitting bank statements as proof of assets and plan to include 1 full year just incase this will help but I didn't like the idea of including an entire year of transaction history. From searching around I read some people only including the first page showing account balances but this wasn't exactly for a spouse immigrant visa. I think it makes sense to not include all the transaction history as that's very intrusive. But I wanted to check first, and if I do have to include all history can I at least redact some transactions that may be private? Thanks!
  10. For sure, I feel like I've read it a dozen times 😀. I'm now trying to understand what "evidence of income" would be for self-employment as a daytrader. I guess I fall under "or other financial data" and they want me to print out trade history, profit and loss history, account balances.
  11. I also now see that since my income is below the poverty line that I'm required to submit evidence of income. I don't understand this, I'm self-employed as a daytrader so do they want me to screenshot my broker terminal showing the current year's PnL (profits and losses)? For example, I could have a terrible week and this PnL could change and go down (in this type of occupation the income isn't locked in until tax time requires it to be).
  12. Hmm I thought the 'civil documents' were the documents submitted by the applicant for the DS-260? For example if you are using a car as an asset, and submit the car title as evidence of ownership, my wife needs to bring my original car title into her interview? Many thanks. I'm still a little confused as the assets belong to a co-sponsor. My wife, the applicant, needs to bring original documents belonging to the co-sponsor? Such as when using cash in a bank account, this is a bank statement that can be emailed and printed. But an asset like a car title, proof of loans, real estate, etc, would be hard copies located here in USA. Do I need to mail these hard copies overseas to my wife? Thanks again.
  13. I've seen no exact mention of bringing the supporting documents showing proof of assets to the interview, but I do see a mention of bringing the tax transcripts. Since these documents are submitted with the I-864 I'm assuming to just bring a photocopy of them? However, does anyone know for sure as I don't even see it mentioned to bring in the first place. Thanks a lot!
  14. Can one put 'employed as' and list a current employer, while also listing 'retired since'? My joint sponsor was employed for 25 years and retired 5 years ago, but now they have side income and technically are employed again. The form does allow you to choose two options simultaneously in Adobe Acrobat Reader. What would the best route here be? thanks a lot
  15. Just wanted to confirm the way the I-864 pdf application works. It has a barcode at the bottom and after filling out the form electronically (adobe acrobat reader), the form data is saved into the barcode? After I print the application, sign using a pen, then rescan all the pages back into a new pdf file. The barcode at the bottom allows the NVC to scan it and immediately get all the form data instead of manually entering it from the scanned images inside the new pdf? Thanks a lot.
  16. Hey thanks, here's the passage I'm talk about the: It specifically says that if you provide an IRS transcript then you don't need to include every Form W-2 and Form 1099, but it does not use this wording when referring to the schedules (also in my I-864 it's Part 6, Item Number 4 so this also confused me a little because Item Number 2 says "Name of Employer 1")
  17. I've read that going to the IRS website and downloading the tax transcript for Immigration is the easiest route for submitting tax documents. I've done this and on these transcripts it does list a summary of Schedule D in my case, but it's not the full Schedule D for as included with my 1040 submission. Do i need to additionally include the entire Schedule D section from my returns or is the 'tax transcript' I downloaded sufficiently showing the Schedule already? Thanks a lot!
  18. Hmm this is interesting, they don't just view money as money? Would the value of the assets make a difference, lets 3x poverty level is 100k, if the joint sponsor shows 200k in assets would this be more than enough? Thanks
  19. Wow awesome, I thought because the instructions say "if your income exceeds the poverty guidelines then YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED to complete Part 7," meaning that if your income does not meet the guidelines you are required to complete part 7. This is very helpful thanks a lot! I'm still a little confused on the documentation for evidence of assets, does the consulate or NVC have a page explaining more about it? For example I may use cryptocurrency as assets and could print out exchange records but I'm not sure if that's what they would want. Another option is stocks kept in an IRA but that documentatin is more straightforward I guess. Thanks again.
  20. I'm working on my wife's visa and filing out the I-864, I guess first off I'm wondering is it possible to use a joint sponsor's assets and then basically leave the form blank for my own assets (petitioner)? Like kind of skip any info about me and entirely use a joint sponsor for proving adequate assets? I read that you don't have to declare "all" assets, just what you intend to use, this made me wonder if you can just use someone's else's assets entirely even if you do have the capability yourself. When proving these assets I assume you just bring paperwork to the interview showing them? The I-864 instructions don't really address this and just mention 1040s. Thanks!
