Yes, I am in NYC. I filed March 5th, interviewing July 25th.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you file? Was it the old fashion way or did you e-file? Your case is moving kind of fast.

"USCIS to Naturalize 15,000 New Citizens During Independence Day Holiday"
That's a whole lot of new citizens for one day! I'm sure they don't naturalize 15K everyday but still... I did a quick search and found annual numbers to be well over 500K.
Anyone know if we have a choice how we choose to take the oath (small and private vs big and lavish)?

And done! He said that his IO just went over his forms, did the tests and that was it. Easy peasy!
Oath ceremonies are 45-60 days out right now so hopefully we hear something soon. We have a cruise to the Bahamas planned for November so fingers crossed we can get his new passport back quickly after oath!
Hopefully the answer to this question will be a "Yes".
Was he given a recommendation for naturalization on the spot? According to USCIS it could take 120 days from the date of the initial naturalization interview to issue a decision. It's hardly ever that long of a wait. Sounds like the interview went very well.
Congratulations!

Ahaaaaa. I won't be able to take oath until September. Whats the other sites?
Check out this guy's timeline on TrackIt...he filed in April and have oath set for June 27. His naturalization case is at the top: http://www.trackitt.com/member/psyfire

Filed on June 13th but system gave me a NOA date of the 12th. I also read somebody else encountered the same issue. So make sure you file at least 89 days prior to avoid any complications.
I received my NOA immediately after I paid online. Figerprint appointment arrived 3 days after on ELIS, I did an early walk in and now waiting for my online status to change.
Some reported Efile moves faster than paper file, I will have to see.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I'm one of those who filed the old fashion way (NOA April 19). e-filing goes a hell of a lot faster than paper. There are a few April e-filers (from other sites) who have already been naturalized.

USCIS website gives detailed info on who is eligible to lodge N400 online.
No. I efiled under 3 year rule. Case accepted and already did my biometrics.
When exactly did you e-file? I want to know if your process is moving as fast as others who e-filed.
Thanks

I played around with the questionnaire a bit. When I put that I have been a permanent resident for 5+ years (I'm not - I'm applying based on 3 year rule), it allowed me to proceed to online filing. I'm sure they have other qualifications too for filing online, just not sure what all of those are exactly.
Thanks for sharing.
Do they have info that suggest that someone applying based on the 3 year rule can't e-file?

It's too late for me and probably a few others here but if anyone plans on filing for citizenship it's possible to apply online. From what I've seen thus far, filing N-400 online goes super fast. Some April filers (from areas like NYC where the process takes about 9 months) have already been interviewed and will take oath before the end of June...that's less than 3 months.
Follow this topic for more info:

Good Luck!
Keep us posted. I'm really curious about this e-filing processing times.

O boy! why did I not hear about this before I sent my application? @Private One, if its possible (probably not), I would just go back and redo it. At this pace, a June efiler will take oath before some of us that did paper application in April. Again, this is just so wrong. Lol
I'm sure we're all kicking ourselves in the head right now. Here's the funny thing - I checked to see it was possible to e-file N-400 and of course the information I saw told me no. Even now, knowing that it's possible, it's still hard to find much info on this.
@hellostranger57 @lilebenz: I doubt there's a way to transfer to online filing. I created an account and I can't even add my case. Upon signing up I was invited to start my N-400 application but that's probably because of the link I used to get to what seems to be a semi exclusive site.
Right now I'm just trying not to lose my mind over this. I'm in line as of May 26 so I'm hoping I'll see an interview letter by months end.

Checked online and I cannot find any option to file N-400 online. As awesome as the person makes it sound I highly doubt it.
It's legit...Sorry I should have included the link.

I created an account and when I was done I was prompted to start the N-400 application. I thought I would have been able to add my existing case but I can't.

Haha....please make your prediction again. I'm all for it! I have been looking at the timelines below for the past few weeks and everyone can understand why I've been bashing on the Atlanta office. The shocking truth is that according to these timelines on VJ forum, I am now the first person (on VJ) that filed in 2017 to be 'In line' ! That doesn't sound right.

Dude!
I'm pissed off...I'm just now learning of e-filing for N-400. I wrote a reply about this on another thread so I'm just going to copy and paste.
Here goes:
I had no idea this existed and I'm kind of pissed. I was looking at the US Citizenship Tracker on Trackit and came across this April filer from NY with a timeline that made absolutely no sense to me (see below). The "application filed" date is the same as "received date" and "check cashed" date I looked into this case deeper and found out it was e-filed. This filer has already done interview and has oath coming up on June 27. Unbelievable.
User: psyfire Nationality: Jamaica Service Center: Texas Application Filed: 04 Apr 2017 Priority Date: 03 Apr 2017 Check Cashed: 04 Apr 2017 NOA Received (I-797C): 04 Apr 2017 USCIS Received Date: 04 Apr 2017 Fingerprint Notice Received: 07 Apr 2017 Fingerprints Done: 28 Apr 2017 Interview Letter Received: 08 May 2017 Interview Date: 12 Jun 2017 Oath Letter Received: 21 Jun 2017 Oath Date: 27 Jun 2017 USCIS District Office: New York City, NY U.S. Passport Applied Date: U.S. Passport Received: Total Processing Time: 84 days Days Elapsed: 79 days Case Added to Tracker: 06 Apr 2017 Last Updated: 17 hours 35 minutes ago Notes: E-filed and paid online. Received and accepted for processing same day 4/4/17. FP 4/28/17. Interview 6/12/17 - approved. On 6/21/17 got notice online that Oath Date is 6/27/17 - Long Island. I'm an April filer and can't help but think I may have been in the same position if I'd e-filed.

I was actually about to start a new topic on this after doing a search for this topic here and finding nothing in the results.

God, your first post scared me to death. All good now. ☺️
Sorry...
I swore I was reading Oct 2015. You can breath easy. The luckiest (few) Oct 2016 filers may start getting word as early as late August. By mid September there should be a steady flow of (hopefully) approvals.
If you need to travel or need proof of status for any other reason you can schedule an InfoPass to get your passport stamped. Keep in mind they may only stamped your passport if your extended status is within 30 days of expiring.

Anyone with Vermont pending ROC got approved? Mine was received in October 2016, had my biometrics done in November 2016. Nothing after that...
Correcting my previous post. For some reason I thought this was the Oct 2015 ROC.
You're still within normal processing time. VCS takes about a year.

In line for interview as of today. My 'one month before' date was June 17 (which was Saturday) so technically the theory worked in my case. I still doubt the 90+% accuracy of the theory but it sure looks legit enough not to be a coincidence. @Private One: You were right when you said my 'In line' would come soon. At least, now I know I won't be stuck in BC. The real waiting game begins.....and Atlanta office is the king of backlog.
Nice...
Maybe I should make another prediction. Interview letter for both of us by next month? lol

Well the thing is, we never separated in any way!! I think their wording is confusing.
We'll add more evidence, it's going to be a big package...
You definitely need to clear this up. USCIS thinking you are or were legally separated is a BIG deal. You should be good to go as long as you have supporting evidence.
Good Luck!

Hey!
Yeah it's a real bummer, we were not expecting that kind of answer so late in the process..
Here's their answer:
"Your supporting evidence does not sufficiently establish that you and your spouse entered the marriage in good faith and continue to share a life together until your legal separation.
You submitted the following:
- joint partial bank statement covering only one month of your marriage with no daily activity;
- joint partial 2015 Federal tax return with no evidence of being submitted to the IRS;
- joint insurance;
- photo copied photograph;
(...)"
So I think our main problem is that we did not covered the entire 3 years of marriage. We thought the most recent would, by themselves means that we're still married and living together! This is so intrusive!
I also have to say that we moved during the process and I changed my address with the USCIS, maybe it triggered a red flag for them... But at least now I can add the deed to the file I guess.
We're gonna prepare a package with bank statements, taxes, bills for the past 3 years, affidavits from family/friends, photos (originals?), ultrasound pictures (breaking my heart to send an original)...
Is there anything else we can do? I just can't deal with them anymore, this is so exhausting...
Thanks for any advice, and reading through my rant...
JM
Despite the lack of evidence you seem to be overlooking the fact that you were or still are legally separated from your wife, the petitioner. Are you still married to the same wife? Did you filed a waiver I-751? If you gives have reconciled, you should point that out and submit supporting proof of the reconciliation. If possible, wait until after the birth of the baby to submit the evidence so that you can include birth certificate as part of evidence.

@Private One: Thanks for checking on me. I really appreciate it. I am not yet in line. Work has kicked in to a higher gear for me recently. Tomorrow will be my "one month before" date so we will see if that theory holds. How's it going for you?
Work can really cut into that "free" time. Glad to hear you're OK.
I'm taking pop quizzes from this new USCIS Citizenship App (Android , Apple) while waiting on that interview letter. The NYC field office processing time is about 9 months but I see several instances here where processing took less than 6 months for the NYC field office.
Your "In Line" will come soon.
Enjoy the weekend.

@St.James-One: Everything OK bro? You haven't posted for a minute. Are you "In Line" yet?
Hope all is good.

The best thing to do at this point would be putting in the e-request. If the lost card happen to show up, cancel the request.

oh no. seems like my card was lost in mail somehere.
uscis status shows card to be mailed on May 4, 2017.
Tracking shows it has been delivered on May 9th. However, till today we never received anything.
its pretty much lost, most likely usps mail man made mistake in delivery.
what do i do next? i-90? have to pay again? and wait 10 months?
this is devastating..
Just guessing...your online status probably look like this:
On May 4, 2017, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number EAC..., to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by June 4, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
Put in an e-request. Not a bad idea to check with the Post Office.
Good Luck

I did my FP on 05/17. Still no update.
That's not a long time ago. I did mine on 05/19 and really wasn't expecting to hear anything that soon but I've seen other wait weeks before getting "in line".
What's your story? Did you ever had any runnings with law enforcement? Have you (your name) ever been mistaken for someone else? There are many reasons why moving to the next step can be delayed. It could be nothing (this is probably the case) or it could be something (let's hope not).
