  1. We just received our second RFE. There were three small problems with the first RFE and with this new one we have two more problems to fix. So yes you can receive more than one and they seem to clump the problems into little groups.

I was wondering if anyone has ever received more than two RFE's?I have looking on the visajourney site but I have not seen any posts about more than two. Two is already bad enough I just don't want to receive a third one in another three months. :(

  2. That means that they received the paperwork but nothing has been processed. I would say starting calling after 4 weeks. I assume it will take a lot longer than that because the wait for everyone has been longer than the normal time. I also had a RFE at the end of January but even the first processing time was around 10 weeks.

  3. Hello,

I only translated the front page of the sheet and there has been no problem. We are in the NVC stage and we had an RFE but it was nothing to do with the translations so I assume you are fine with just translating the front page. By the way you can translate the work yourself if you want to save some money. It takes a little bit of time just to make the tables and such but I translated everything myself and just added a note stating my spanish and english were good enough to translate.

    Good luck!

  4. Hello, I can first hand tell you that you do not need to sponsor your boyfriend for a tourist visa. I am now married to a Colombian but he applied for a tourist visa while we were dating so he could go meet my family and got denied. We didn't talk about him having an american girlfriend. I had the same intentions as you. I just wanted him to visit but he applied on his own and said he wanted to go travel there for new years and was denied. I don't know if it's because he didn't tell the truth but the only way the embassy would know about our relationship is through Facebook and I don't know exactly what the background checks consist of but to answer your question, no you don't sponsor your boyfriend.

  5. I would have to agree with afortunada. I sent my packet in and it was received Nov. 14th or somewhere around there. Yesterday we called and they said they hadn't even started yet! So they put us on a priority list because it has been 9 weeks! They said it could take another 6 weeks but we also are hoping for a faster process. I would recommend calling and checking, that seems to be the only way to find out some information about what is going on at the NVC.

    Best of luck to everyone!

  6. Hello, I had a question about the ready and transit. Where do you see this? I am waiting to hear back from the NVC and it has been about 2 months. I also never received an email that the paperwork is being processed but we called and they told us yes and that it should be done by Dec 28th, 2016. I have had trouble with email. I usually call or email to see if the visa was approved.

We are waiting to hear about the interview but I don't know where to look or what to do to see if we did finish at the NVC or not. Any advice?

    Thank you!

  7. Hello,

My husband overstayed his tourist visa when he was a kid. His family moved to the US when he was 4 years old and didn't move back until he was 8. His passport though says he was only there for 12 days. I don't know what we should say. I know he was under 18 so it gets cancelled out but I still am nervous. I put on the DS-260 that he hasn't overstayed a visa but I don't know if that was the right.

    Here is the question.

Have you ever been unlawfully present, overstayed the amount of time granted by an immigration official or otherwise violated the terms of a U.S. visa?

I put no because it happened over 15 years ago and as I said was underage. I don't know if anyone knows the legal/correct answer that is needed. Any help would be appreciated.

  8. I didn't receive a confirmation nor the NOA1. I had to contact the USCIS and have then send out another NOA1 after confirming they were processing the papers. Then its another four months or so until you receive the confirmation of the papers for the CR-1 visa at least, I don't know about the others.

The same also happened with me at the NVC. I sent in my very large packet of all the paperwork you will need to fill out in the next step and I did not get a confirmation email. Everyone said they send you something after a couple days but I had to send an email to the NVC and also call and they responded saying they have the paperwork and are processing it.
