Hello All! Just talked to USCIS customer service in order to get some updates regarding my status. So, basically they told me the same that I can see online. But, they also said even if my most updated online status says "FP has been scheduled" it does not mean I'm not in the line for the Interview. Since biometrics have been taken this puts case in line by default. And the reason why they didn't update case status is because there are so many applicants and it's hard to keep everyone up to date. What do you guys think about it? Also based on Norfolk, VA processing time, they said it may take up to 5 more month to go. Might probably be Thanksgiving present LOL...

I think they speak correct. Many ppl have got direct letters.

    1. Who does a U.S. Senator represent?

    2. Name one right only for United States citizens.

    3. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

    4. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

    5. What is the name of the national anthem?

    6. Before he was President, Eisenhower was a general. What war was he in?

Even though I know the answers, this is the toughest set of questions according to me . I had too easy questions. Interviewer also agreed that I had easy one.

I'm sorry man, I did not want to offend you. It's just a joke that I've heard.

And since I don't practice any religion I don't take it serious anyways... Please don't get me wrong, I believe in God, I don't believe in religion

Well, I  follow Hinduism. So, personally you do not offend me. But, I am following this website for last 3 years. I got so much help from all the people here that I cant express in words. I never read any offending statements from anyone in my visa journey so far  which will end on June 22.

I know your comments were casual in nature.  You are good person.

hahaha... cause not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims... Is it good enough answer? hahaha

But if Harry kills bunch of people, they already has an excuse for him... Harry was bi-polar...

Few weeks ago in Times Square former USA solder intentionally hit people by his car... so, officials said it was not a terrorist  attack...  But why? Not enough people died?

I disagree that all terrorists are Muslim.I mean there might be a few who follow other religions.

i have posted this question in a different post but still didn't get any answer,  are we required to memorize the answers exactly like they are online ? for ex : What is freedom of religion?
    ▪ You can practice any religion, or not practice a religion.

do the interviewer need the answer to be exactly like  its written online or as long as the answer is correct its doesn't matter how we say it?

It all depends on your personal rapport with interviewer. To be safer, you should memorize. Actually, interviewer will keep writing your answers on the paper. I was told that I got very easy set of questions. I joked you can ask all d 100 questions. We spoke about films/sport/culture and others not in interview.

Anyway, keep reading the booklet and u r good

  6. Today, I am content.  I got online update like below:

The k-1 visa interview was smooth and easy. They believed we loved each other. I was actually there and they did not even question me. In Jamaica my husband was so intelligent, respectful, charming, understanding and loving. I think the interviewer saw those qualities in him too. She joked with him several times. I don't believe age alone is as important as people think to USCIS.

Going through your posts, I feel you still love him so much. I definitely can feel the emotions you are going through. You see all your efforts, plans, time and memories meaningless.  VJ is full of incidents like that.

I guess he saw you as an opportunity to come to USA. Best thing that you can do is forgive him and move on. Let the God deal with him. In life, there are times when you go through these things for nothing wrong from your side. Then, We always learn from our past.

It looks like my time stopped in waiting in line for Interview scheduling for N400.

Meanwhile my GC is expiring after 10 years first week next month. So I applied for GC Renewal for which I got FP Notices on June 16th and got an Info pass appointment on May 26th for requesting Temp extension for all 3 family members. That cost-ed a LOT of money. Cost I paid waiting too long for applying N-400 in the last moments (Less than 6 Months) of my GC expiry.....

I always pay for my carelessness.

  9. Okay, here is the story for the day:

Interview was scheduled for 11.30 am. I reached by 11.15. Crossed through security and reached a big lobby. Went to  reception, gave my letter. I was told to submit the note at the window 8. Around 12, I was called by an USCIS officer. We went to his chamber. Took my finger scans and immediately started the Q&A. Stopped at 7th. as I gave all the correct answers.

Asked a few out of topic questions and then started asking everything from my application. So be careful about what you have submitted as they confirm everything at the interview.

At the end, he gave me letter which stated that my case has been forwarded for approval. Also got some unconfirmed news that I might get oath  on June 27. And yes, he asked for one doc which i gave

So I had my interview on May 9, 2017. On the night of May 7th, I had my wallet stolen from me in Miami, FL. The wallet had my Green Card and license among other credit cards. I needed my license to get back to Raleigh through TSA and most importantly needed my GC for the upcoming citizenship interview, so needless to say I was panicking. After calming down and doing some internet research, the answers to all my questions was a Police Report. I immediately went to the Miami Beach Police Department and filed a report and got a copy for it.

My return flight from Miami to Raleigh was on the morning of the 9th (interview was scheduled for 2pm)... TSA took their sweet time patting me down thoroughly and going through all my belongings and talking to the state department for a on-the-spot background check since I had no identification on me. Thankfully, everything went smoothly and I was compliant with all requests. No complaints with TSA, they were just doing their job.

At the field office, I walked in and explained security and the front desk receptionist my situation about my wallet being lost and therefore having no green card. My passport, however served as my identification throughout this process at the field office (this passport was not with me while I was in Miami, or the TSA process would've gone way easier). The receptionist made sure I had a police report with me then let me go upstairs to wait.

Interview time... first question was, let me see you GC. lol. Then I explained my story and showed the IO the police report. He went through it until he saw that a Permanent Resident (Green) card was listed as among the items lost in the report. He proceeded to print a "Record of Sworn Statement (Missing PRC)" form which he made me sign. It basically said that "My PRC was lost/stolen" and I have NOT filed for a replacement (this fee is $550 and I was scared that I would have to file for one... my argument against doing that, had it been brought up, would be that you have to surrender the GC at the oath anyways, so this was unnecessary and useless for me to do).

After the GC situation was established, the actual interview began.... He went through my form and then proceeded with the questions:

    1. What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now? --Paul Ryan

    2. When was the Declaration of Independence adopted? --July 4, 1776

    3. If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President? --Speaker of the House

    4. Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States. --Mississippi River

    5. Who vetoes bills? --President

    6. What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution? --Bill of Rights

I think the sentence I had to write was "Lincoln was the president during the civil war" or something along those lines. I forgot what sentence I had to speak, but it was pretty basic and something related to American history.

Then he approved my application and I waited about 15 more minutes for my Oath date/time to be given to me and I was out of there. Whole process took about 30 minutes I believe.

Most important thing to take from this: KEEP YOUR GREEN CARD SAFE and if you lose it GET A POLICE REPORT ASAP.

Sorry for the essay guys, but hopefully this provides everyone else some entertainment and useful information for the future!!!

Very interesting and thrilling. But I am happy that all ended well.  Thanks for the updates

Here is my question. Do they schedule interview for all the January applicant at the same time. For example, If Joe applied on 01/01/17 and Biden applied on 01/28/2017, will they receive their interview letter on the same date? Or will Biden have to wait until a spot opens up?

No they don't. I saw one guy applied exactly like my case at same office (20 days  ahead inline for interview). However, I got the e-notification same day as his. I got the physical letter as well. I mentioned this in one of my earlier post, perhaps you missed it.

Point is: They issue letters in batch.

Late update interview experience at Louisville , KY . i was asked the following questions :

How many amendments does the Constitution have?

Name one branch or part of the government ?

We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?

If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

What happened at the Constitutional Convention?

What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?

In short i answered all of them right away . He also gave me a paper to read loud which was saying ( When is columbus day ?) He said i want you to write down that ( Columbus day is in October ) no additional document was requested . At the end of interview the officer handed me the paper N-652 says Congratulations your application has been recommended for approval . We hand shook and i left the office .

Wonderful and Thanks for sharing your experience.

  13. Hi Jan Filers,

I have just got the mobile notification for my interview date. However interview date will be sent through the letter. It looks like that they issue the dates in batch. I mean even if you have applied 30 days +/- , You are likely to get the interview date on same day.

Last thing, I was expecting the interview date in mid May. So it is lot faster than I thought.

Good luck to rest of us.

Yes, sure. I am sorry if I created confusion. I am just seeing from the immigration perspective and looking at it as a way of showing strong financial ties/bonds between a married couple. I should note, however, while I was married, we always filed jointly because that was in the best financial interests of our family. But everyone is different. I just shared my humble opinion.

Main purpose of tax transcript is to so that you are bonafide and law abiding resident. However joint word creates a confusion.  Filing jointly is better most of the time but not all the time. For financial ties, you need to send rent receipt, utility bills, joint bank accounts, grocery bills, mortgage, insurance etc.Again this is what i understand. I might be wrong.
