It could be that the "script" says not to tell people the internal dates but the phone staff feel for us so are breaking from script.  I don't see why they arent transparent other than potentially opening themselves up to lawsuits later

Aloha TokyoHNL..hoping to get CC soon NVC stage is frustrating?

So I guess if I get a case complete early next week we may have an interview at the end of March. That was a very fast interview assignment for you!
 
(Scan date 11/28 here, so I'm hoping soon...it's been in the "review department" for awhile now for whatever that is worth on a 1 page document)

Nope, I've been doing this since October 2nd, 2015.   USCIS took a long time, NVC is taking a long time.   Entered the NVC in June 2016.  Still there.  Some of its obviously due to my mistakes and some of it is them, they got confused over the Japanese police certificate, lost the photocopy of my wife's passport and the marriage certificate (and I know, because I translated it twice).
 
Its one of the primary reasons I'm so frustrated with this process because even THEIR mistakes take so long to correct.  I asked them on the phone back in October - this is your mistake, why do I have to wait 6 weeks again and the rep just said thats the process.
 
So until they CC comes I'm worried that they will lose something or think of something I didnt provide..... grrrr

I am freaking out.
I have to schedule my case through the consulate because we have an expedite through them. My case was received at the embassy two days ago. At the suggestion of another VJ member, I kept checking my availability to schedule an interview on the ais.usvisa-info site.. First, it told me I wasn't able to proceed because my case wasn't ready for an interview. Then I checked randomly two hours later and it let me in! However, all the dates were blacked out - no appointments were available. I read that this was normal but to keep checking back.
I refreshed not even a half hour later and an appointment opened up for February 21st!!! Someone must have canelled! I selected it as well as selected the biometrics appointment. I wasn't hopeful that it would let me proceed. But it DID. I still couldn't believe it. But then I received an e-mail from the consulate a few minutes later saying that our appointment was confirmed and it had all of my husband's information from his DS-260.
This has to be real, right? Someone pinch me. I am so excited but so scared that something will happen. Please God let this be real!!!!!
I'll keep updating as I find out more!

So....... still no movement...30 minutes on hold.... to get nothing.....

I complained to the person this time:  its only 3 pages, how long could it possibly take to review 3 pages.
 
NVC:  "She doesn't know and cannot know when the review will be completed"
 
Guess my frustration is getting the better of me so I said " This process is now coming up on 500 days for me - thats a really long time to be waiting" ....
 
NVC:  she said I'm sorry sir, we are the only NVC in the world"
 
I said " I know its not your problem, but, this process used to be MUCH faster before it was centralized"  - she was sort of getting annoyed.... So I said thank you and ended the call.
 
But seriously..... these people should live 500 days without their loved ones 
 
 

Ok Jan is over now... We need to see updates from our cases for c.c and Interview dates. Keep positive . I called today in the morning rep told me not Interview assign still waiting .... 

Exactly... The outrage is so blatantly fake, it's not even funny.  A lot of people are going off of things like this, extrapolating it to sound like they're deporting and turning back people who are green card holders, and have nothing to do with those countries and everything else under the sun... Those same people haven't even bothered to read the executive order and weren't outraged at all when this happened 6 years ago... They're outraged because they were told to be outraged and protest.  
 
Let's hope the house cleaning operation - with the 4 senior level staffers fired at the department of state and anyone else that joins them - the replacements will come in and clean this mess up... 

When you live somewhere for 17 years it's hard to just pick up your bags and move , and what I do with my money that I work for its none of your business or trump for that matter.

Thanks  - when I spoke to the lawyer, he did say that I could sue the government, but, it would cost over $10,000 and even if I won they wouldn't pay my fees and would still take their time to complete the case.. meaning don't bother.  That was the best advice a lawyer could offer. fun!  oh well, I know it will be over soon - just wish it really was FIFO.  Seeing cases complete in 1/3 or less my time with really short relationships really irks me.

of course; these people are playing with us. we shall have a mini van with the VJ sign all over it. i bet they will call the police on us lol.

That sucks! My congressman has been really helpful. He assigned the case to one of his aides and she contacts the NVC for me weekly and emails me the information. NVC has a person who is a "congressional liaison" so congressmen are able to get more detailed information much quicker than us.

It may not help any cases move faster BUT I know from my friends in Japan that did this process prior to 2011 that it used to take from 6 weeks up to 4 months for the ENTIRE process to complete.  Of course this information is limited to Japan only but when I know it used to take 4 months and now it takes 15+ months I'm allowed to be frustrated.
 
 

Oh no i didn't mean it like that, was just comparing to what it was and what is it now, which is rubbish!!

They better improve service levels before they ask for more money

My hubbys interview is January 10!!! ) im so excited I bought my ticket last week for the holidays to see him and I will get to be there when he goes to his interview !!
