  1. How long is the general wait time for SSNs?  My wife arrived on Thanksgiving Day and I thought I read that it only took 2 weeks.  On a separate item, the Embassy took originals for several items (Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree), when do we get those items back.  They were very specific that they could not be copies and took several minutes inspecting them to ensure they were originals.  I thought we would get them back when we came through immigration but they kept them.

    Sd was on august 11.

    Review started at September 18

    And still waiting for cc

How long does it usally take from review untile cc????

It usually take 6-8 weeks from your SD.  Mine was 31 July and my CC was 18 Sept, so you have a little bit yet.  You can take a look at this spreadsheet to see statistics of other couples:

Sounds like; congrats.  As far as emails, I never got one on the CC either, just confirmed by phone:  The first email I got was a checklist saying that when my wife goes to her interview she must bring my moms "missing" birth certificate (despite submitting not one but TWO different ones in the NVC packet,) and the next email was the interview notification itself.  FYI on that:  She is having to renew her vaccinations, because even though she has had all those required, some are >10 years out of date, in which case State requires proof of a current booster shot.

Called this morning and they verified that my case was complete on the 18th!  Just waiting on the interview!!!

We got a case complete on September 13th and received our interview appointment letter via email on September 15th! My husband's interview is October 30th at the embassy in London. Our scan date was July 21st. I'm in shock because I thought we had for sure missed out on October interviews! Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

FYI the little trick to check your status does seem to be true. On Wednesday when I checked my status was "at NVC" and the AOS line had disappeared.

I have a scan date of 31 July, just checked today and my status is at NVC and the AOS line is gone.  Could it be the end finally.....  :o:D

Cleon thanks I hope it's soon been trying since july 7 :(

My issues continue but I made some progress.  After trying to pay it a week I called and they said that my Agent was not approved.  I told them that I had entered it and after a few days, I was able to pay the AS fee.  She told me that you could but that it was still not approved.  She approved it and after 3 days, I received an email that I could pay my IV fee, I was able to go in and pay the IV fee.  It came up and said a duplicate payment was detected.  I went out and it was in processing so I thought everything was good.  The next morning I received a new email saying I needed to pay my IV fee (second email).  I went in and it was back to pay now.  I tried to pay it and it said duplicate payment.  I went to my bank and I could see that it was processed.  I am currently checking every day to see if my pay now goes to a paid status.  If I do not see anything by Friday, I am going to call again.

    Hey,

Hoping someone can put my mind at ease on this one. Our AOS fee was available to pay this morning (I submitted choice of agent yesterday afternoon) My husband filled in the payment info and when he sent the payment it took ages for the website to respond. It finally came up with a message to say there was an error and to try again later. (He's a computer guy, he said it was a typical server error) He went to submit the payment again and the same error message appeared, but when he went back to the main payment page the status of the payment is "in process". Anyone experienced this? Have we actually sent the payment successfully? And have we potentially submitted it twice seeing as both times we got the same error?

    Thanks in advance

I have exactly the same issue with the iv fee.  Exactly the same thing happened. The next day I got a duplicate email to pay the IV fee. I logged in and my payment no longer said in process but said pay again. I tried to pay again and it said there was a payment pending. I called and the women stated that she could only see my AOS fee and if I  tried to pay like I described, I just need to leave it because it can take up to a week. I logged in to my bank and I can see the payment posted as of the day after i paid it the first time. I am still waiting for the website to reflect the payment. If I don't see paid by Tuesday, I'll call again.

It's my understanding that yes, any divorce evidence should be included.  @missileman and @krysten.danis can you please share your input? Thank you, JBMG

Congratulations did they email you on a Saturday? I'm so confused if I'm going to get an email, text or letter in the mail. It's so inconsistent

On the 1st I received an email that my I-129 was closed due to the visa being available through another means. I called and they told me they did not know why because my I-130 was showing as still pending. They opened a ticket and on the 2nd it came back as the I-129 had been closed correctly. The I-130 was still showing as received only. On Saturday morning on the 3rd, I got up at 6:30 and checked the status and it was still as received. At 8:30, an email came in notifying me that we had been approved as of the 2nd.  I checked the site and it was updated with the approved status at that time.

From the responses I got it seems that you still get notified of the change in I-129 2-4 days before you hear about the change in the I-130.  It also seems that it takes a while from when the decision is made before everything makes its way through the system.

The same thing happened to me and a few days later I received notification that my I-130 was approved via a letter in the mail.  Turns out the actual approval date was the same date of the official termination of the I-129F.  The online status did not change until days after I got the notification in the mail.  Hoping it is a good sign for your I-130!  Good luck!

That is what happened, just got an email, WE ARE APPROVED!!!!!

  10. The never ending saga... So yesterday I got a notification that my I-129F had been closed: On June 1, 2017, we closed your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number XXXXX, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means. But my I-130 was still in a received only state.  I called the center and they were as perplexed as I was.  They opened a ticket with the service center to respond and have up to two weeks to explain.

I am beginning to think that I am going to have to move out of the country if I want to be with my wife.

I SAW IN YOUR TIMELINE YOU WERE APPROVED ON 5/6/2017 AND SAID ANY NOTIFICATION RECEIVED. MY QUESTION IS, BETWEEN 5/6 AND TODAY 5/12 DID YOU CALL USIS ASKING ABOUT YOUR CASE??? IF YES, WHAT DID THEY TELL YOU?

So I am still waiting for an approval, so I called yesterday and they first tried to give me the ####### that according to the website they are still processing August 30th.  I told her that I saw that as well but that was as of the 28th of February, are you telling me they have not advanced even one day in 2 1/2 months.  She tried to tell me yes.  Well after fighting with her to get me escalated, she finally allowed me to talk to an agent.

The agent took the time and checked my case.  She said that I have not been processed at all.  She said that I have been put in the section for background investigation.  She could not give me any timeline associated to it.  There are multiple reasons why background investigations occur including previous marriages to foreigners, country from which the marriage occurred, etc.  So the good news for us was that we know that they have everything, the bad news is, we do not have a clue how much longer it is going to be.  Looks like I am going to be making more trips to my second home than originally planned.

This information may help some of the others that feel like they are in limbo.

@David-Liss - that's really interesting! I didn't know they had a separate line for military folks. You should post this info somewhere else on VJ and spread the word ;)

I learned about it after my last deployment.  Here is the link:

    https://www.uscis.gov/military

    Military Help Line

I called the regular line and once and hung up after being on hold for 45 minutes.  I have called the military help line twice and both times the calls were answered immediately.

    201 days today:(

By the look of the number of pending petitions before me I'm thinking another month or two wait at least.  I'm hoping that just a lot haven't had their status updated on the app/on-line.  Disheartening when those with a PD after mine are getting approved because they have been transferred.  Totally happy for them but how is it fair that later dates are getting priority and approved before those in late August and early September? I've never felt so out of control of my own life like I do now.  I know they won't, but it would be nice if Nebraska could at least release some kind of statement with the honest truth about what they're up to and why there has all of a sudden been so many delays.  Everything seemed fine until they got up to August petitions and according to the USCIS website they started processing them in December so it's been almost 4 months they've been working on them with little movement.

So I felt the same way, it seems that if you were transferred from Nebraska you were lucky.  I have a PD of 26 Sept.  I called USCIS today, for those of you in the military, they have a special number that we can call and it made a big difference.  I was connected immediately.  I was first told that it was still in process so I responded that I was told that if it was longer than 6 months there was a problem and I should call to find out what it is.  She put me on hold for about 5 minutes when she came back she told me that my packet was still in Nebraska and that they were currently working on packets from the 9th of August.  It was going to be another 3-4 weeks.  If I do not hear anything after 5 weeks to call back.  She said there was a lot of issues with weather and were behind quite a bit.

Not the information I wanted to hear but at least it was information.
