Thanks for this, it's very helpful.
Any idea of what the logic is of changing the Affidavit of Support Fee from PAID to N/A??
    Doesn't seem intuitive.

I think you can. I did that for my husband. I called him and stayed on the phone and read the questions to him and completed the form accordingly. I forgot some of the stuff but I think there is a place where you can indicate you helped.

Yes. We did it from the US.

    Good evening,

First of all, as a USC, I wanted to say how sorry I am about all of this. Remember that despite what he would like to believe, Trump is not a king - there are many people fighting against him every day to try to keep the new policies fair and just.

Second, Customs and Border Patrol have said that they are continuing to apply any rules or orders issued by the government, and for the moment this includes a ban on any traveler from one of the following countries: Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Libya. Even if you have a valid visa, even if you have had your visa for months or years.

Third, Trump administration officials have said that "going forward" they will allow visa holders to enter. That means you. But they have not been clear about the requirements for this, although given the events of this weekend I think something will be figured out very soon. The ban was put into place much too quickly and they didn't think about how it would affect visa holders, so people just going on vacation have tried to come back home to the US and not been allowed in, which is untenable.

Finally, for anyone reading this who might be OK with the idea of banning people from arbitrary countries, remember this: if it can happen that quickly, almost on a whim, to seven countries, there is nothing preventing Trump from deciding that some other countries should be included in the ban as well. I for one am deeply scared that, given his previous statements about France, that he might make France his next target.

I am deeply ashamed of my President right now.

Good luck to you. If worse comes to worse, try to contact the Canadian embassy and ask what your options would be. At least it would get you in the same time zone.

My sincerest regrets go out to you for having had such a traumatizing experience.  It is unfair.  It is wrong.  Be happy you have your passport in hand. My husband's passport is stuck at the embassy, visa issued, only to collect dust as it expires or to be cancelled.  Waiting 90 days seems like an eternity, especially when you stop and think that logically, we aren't even being promised anything once those 90 days are up.  Hold tight to your passport.

One member mentioned that coming to the US is a privilege, not a right.  I'd like to point out that we are all humans and humans don't have the privilege to choose where they are born.  Some Americans, however, seem to believe that a person should be held accountable for such a meaningless detail as place of birth.  We waited in line, filed our paperwork, paid our fees, attended our interviews, submitted to all of the same background checks as anyone else.  Don't remind us that to enter is a privilege; we see that it is a privilege being denied on an unconstitutional basis.

I've written my senators and local representative, but I am not optimistic.

I don't think the one by the Judge in Massachusetts is. That ruling states that it puts a seven day hold before Trump's exec order can be enforced and it says that CBP must inform airlines flying to Logan about this.

Now CBP might still come up with some other reason why they can't let a visa holder in but for seven days, visa holders cannot be denied based on Trump's exec order. As I understand it, this is for Massachusetts only.

So OP, I would contact TSA or CBP at Logan and get this confirmed as well as call e.g United, they fly between Istanbul and Boston.

She will not get denied if she is not on your life insurance or if she doesn't own property with you together. If she was then it would be good evidence that the relationship is real but then again I'd personally be doubting her love in this relationship if she is threatening you to leave if you don't do that. There is plenty of other evidence that you can submit that prove that you have a bonafide relationship such as pictures together, the marriage certificate boarding passes of you two visiting each other or doing trips together. Especially when the marriage is still young they don't expect you to have property or life insurance under both names.
