Tariq..
Hi - My husband just completed his DS230 and the same question came up.... I told him to list all schools as this is what the directions do say.... now on the DS157 you should only list your secondary school and any schooling after that.
I do not know if the primary school is necessary on the DS230 -- if not I dont think it will hurt to have it.
Better to be safe than sorry (that's my thought)
Good Luck!!!

Hi - I have read the older threads.... I was more referring to anything new since the re-opening of the consulate (I recall reading someone had to reschedule because of a form issue as Casa wanted the expired form)
I was just wondering if there was anything else since the re-opening that was quirky like this.
Also, my husband did not receive packet #3 -- we received the information via email (so the consulate did not mail the forms -- they sent us a link to the forms) Of course the link directs us to the new form (Im talking about DS156) and this is what we have completed.
Does anyone have an electronic version of the old DS156? I dont want to have the same problem as the other couple did and I can not for the life of me find the old form online.
Thanks,
Malarie
I will pray for you and wish you alot of luckThank you Dimples!!

Iysha,
Hi - I am not too sure what is going on with Casa..... I was told that my husbands packet 3 was mailed to him on May29th -- and he never received it. I kept on emailing Casa once per week and was finally told this week that my husbands interview is next Thursday.... all the previous responses said the canned -- "we have your petition and a packet will be mailed soon..."
I did have my congressman email after I had waited 3 weeks for the packet #3 to reach my husband (not too sure if this prompted the interview date.... like i said who knows?????) All I can say is that 2 days after my congressman received a response to the inquiry they sent I received the email with the date.
Also, I did email Casa back as I was worried about not receiving packet 3 and I received a response today that we would NOT be receiving the packet and the necessary information was attached to the email (and it was -- the link to the forms and the doctors letters etc.....)
Things must be crazy in Casa since the re-opening!!!
Good Luck and I hope all that are waiting get something soon ..... it is torturous!!

Good Morning --
I was just wondering if ANYONE that has a petition in Casablanca and has received their interview date and packet #3 - (not including the couples that had interview dates already scheduled during the closed time).
I am going mad I tell you --- I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHEN ---- PLZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz
Lady loosing her mind here!!!
Thanks
Malarie
We are in the same boat..... one which is waiting..... Our K3 was received by CASA on May 8th..... according to DOS visa office CASA mailed the Packet 3 on May 28th..... and CASA consulate reply said they will mail soon.... and have not yet received it though.
Our CR1 is case is waiting for NVC 2 complete review of DS-230 since Jun 8th.
it is maddeningly frustating not to know when..... looking at the tunnel every time i get 2 see if there is any light..... may be my eyes have gone blind.
WELLL I HAVE GOOD NEWS..... I RECEIVED A RESPONSE VIA EMAIL FROM CASA TODAY WITH MY HUSBANDS INTERVIEW -- JUNE 28TH...... YES THAT IS NEXT WEEK AHEMMMMMMMMMMMM
ANYWAY -- MY HUSBAND NEVER RECEIVED A PACKET #3 BUT WE ALL OF THE INFORMATION WAS EMAILED TO ME AND I SENT THE EMAIL ON TO MY HUSBAND WHO HAS PRINTED IT OUT AND IS GOING FOR HIS MEDICAL TOMORROW....... SUCH DRAMA I SWEAR.
Anyway -- i wish everyone here good luck maybe things are moving again in Casa!!!
May time move quickly and everyone get good results!!!

My fiance and I were talking last night about interview dates. I figured that after being closed for 50 days casa would be so flooded and we wouldn't have an interview date sooner than August. Then we heard that someone called DOS and learned their packet 3 had been sent May 29 and we started to worry. I said "lol, what if you got the packet tomorrow."
Guess what. I should have checked my email before calling DOS today, he did get it today
I did call, they told me the date, then I went online and found out about the packet 3. This is sooo cool!
June 26, "8am"
Wow wow wowwowowowow

Hi - I dont want to sound stupid but I did not know we could check online for the packet 3??
Can you or someone please tell me how.... it is my husband that was supposedly sent packet 3 on the 29th and he has yet to receive it!!!
I wish i could get our date from the DOS - they keep telling me my husband has to fill out the forms and return them then the date will be set .... I am so tired of all of this it is crazy!
Thanks for any info anyone can give on how to look this stuff up online!

Hi - I am having some great concerns that our case has been lost in the shuffle..... I can not get a confirmation from Casa that they even have our case, however, when I contact the DOS they state that our case was shipped on May 7th, received by Casa on May 16th and Packet #3 mailed out to my husbands home (correct address confirmed) on May 29th..... well he has not received anything yet.
As I said, I have emailed Casa 2 times now with no response...... anyone in the same boat?
I think I have lost my mind!!!
Malarie
It's just over a week since it was mailed out. Took my SO about 2 weeks to receive packet 3. I wouldn't stress just yet. Also, if you called DOS, they should have been able to tell you when his interview date is. That was how I originally found out for my SO. We knew before he even got the packet. Don't worry just yet. The mail is not the best over there.
Not that I am counting but tomorrow will be 2 weeks -AARRGGHHH -- I know the mail situation is not the best this is part of my concern!! I did ask the DOS if they had the interview date and what i was told is that my husband would have to fill out the forms and return them and then he would be issued the interview date. I pushed back saying - oh i thought that the interview date was included in the packet 3 as I was told this before. The lady said - No maam - you husband will have to fill out all the forms and return it to the consulate and then the interview date will be given.
I just assumed she was incorrect but who the heck knows maybe the process has changed??
So we continue to sit ...... and wait and wait and ...............
LOL -- trying to keep the spirits up!
Malarie
u should chil, girl! they usually take about 3 weeks to respond, sometimes less. so, you'll get it, i'm sure. would be nice if it wasn't a 'generic answer', but it usually is.
anyway, in my opinion, they're a$$$holes!
hopefully after re-opening something'll change, inshallah!
Hi - This is my next step - I am off to purchase a long calling card today ..... any suggestions as to which is the best?
THanks again!
Malarie
OK...... what is up with those people?? I have been hung up on 4 times... I kept calling back and no one will help -- I can barely understand them.....OMG!!!
Does anyone have any helpful hints as to how to get a live person who actually can help??
THat was the biggest joke.... My faith is rapidly disappearing.
I'm going back to bed .... what a waste of time. I used my Yahoo phone out and it was only $.19 a minute but geez I dont like to donate my money to Yahoo!!!

Does anyone have it at their fingertips?

this is really hard for me to type so i'll make it brief...
i went over the paperwork COUNTLESS times with my fiance about making sure everything was filled out perfectly, making sure we had each document necessary and it was the updated forms, photos, emails, conversations, phone bills, plane tickets, etc.
i've read disappointing stories here on vj about being sent the outdated form and when the person showed up at the interview, they were turned away because it wasn't up to date!
well i had the OPPOSITE interview. my fiance brought in the DS156 that was the newest 2007 version you can get off their website. apparently they wanted the OLD VERSION from 2004 that is expired and they made my fiance leave. instead of letting him hand in a new form that would take less than 5 minutes to complete, they handed him a form and made him leave.
so now we have to reschedule a new interview for who knows when the fukc it will be.
i'm crushed. i tried to do the right thing. checked everything 1000000000x and this is what i get.
so i think i'm leaving ny. i was waiting here thinking he would be here within a few weeks, but now it looks like that is NOT going to happen. thanks for all the support last night and those who called/PMed me. i appreciate it.
-jen
jen i am so sorry. they will have you in there soon. inchallah everyhting will be perfect like you had planned it before. i am so sorry i am praying for you some more. love natalie
HI - I can not even begin to express what disgust I felt when I first read this yesterday and I thought I would not post a response and keep this to myself ... but I wanted to say that I am so sorry for you guys... you are doing the right things by emailing your congressman and the consulate etc..... it is just insane.
Does anyone know where the old version of the form is or if it is still available online --- I too downloaded the new form to have it ready to go and I am so thankful that you posted this information helping all of us behind you not to get caught in the same red tape.
Good Luck and be a thorn in their hineys!!!!
I hope you get another interview quick and your hubby/fiance is here with you soon!!

UNITED STATES CONSULATE GENERAL REOPENS
The United States Embassy is pleased to announce that the Consulate General in Casablanca will resume normal operation on Monday June 4, 2007, after a temporary closure for security upgrades.
We remind the public that American Citizens Services hours at the Consular Section are 8:30A.M. to 9:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday. Visa services are by appointment Monday through Thursday. The opening hours for Dar America are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Dar America’s Information Resource Center is open to the public from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Consular staff will contact Immigrant and Diversity ("lottery") Visa applicants who had appointments for the period that the Consulate was closed (April 16-June 1) to reschedule their appointments. Applicants who have not been contacted by June 11 should e-mail the Consular Section at ivcasablanca@state.gov to schedule a new appointment.
Previously scheduled appointments for tourist and business visa interviews have been cancelled and appointment letters printed prior to June 3, 2007 are no longer valid. All tourist and business visa applicants must schedule interviews via our online appointment system at the following address: http://casablanca.usconsulate.gov/general_information.html. Banque Marocaine de la Commerce et de l’Industrie (BMCI) receipts for payment of the $100 non-refundable, non-transferable visa processing fee are valid for one year from the date of payment.
Student, exchange visitor, and temporary work visa applicants do not need to make appointments. They may apply Monday through Thursday between 8:00AM and 10:00 AM, provided they have the required documentation. Individuals with urgent business travel needs and those seeking emergency medical travel to the U.S. should consult the Consulate website at http://casablanca.usconsulate.gov/tourist_business.html and follow the procedures for requesting an expedited appointment.
For security reasons and to minimize waiting time, visa applicants should not bring cell phones, backpack, or large handbags and must not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment times. Applicants must present their appointment letters in order to enter the Consulate and should bring only the documents necessary for their interview.
ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning....I just wanted to let everyone know that I received a response to an email that I sent to Casa on 5/18/07. The response is dated 5/21/07 == here is what I received as a response:
Dear Madam:
The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca is temporarily closed to the public. At this point we are unable to check if we have received your husband’s case at this office. We will be happy to answer your inquiry when full operations resume at the Consulate. Please refer to our website at http://casablanca.usconsulate.gov/submissi...lications2.html for additional information.

And by the way I did address the email to the NIV as my husband and I are pursuing the K3.

I got a call back from my senator friend. They told me that the consulate is due to open very soon. I asked what soon meant and I was told that we will be getting a new appointment within days. I'm going with them opening on Monday.
Incha Allah

Hi All -- i just got off the phone with the department of state and the consulate did not open today ... and as always no information as to when. Did anyone call directly to Casa today??

but i am hoping to find someone with a similar experience......
hi all --- i finally received my confirmatory letter from the NVC saying our petition was shipped out on May 7th (oh happy day!!!!) HOWEVER -- my middle name on the letter was spelled incorrectly. All of our paperwork and receipts have been correct -- only the letter with the bar code. I did call the NVC and was told the petition was already out of the building and they could not do anything. I asked if my name was showing in the NVC computer system this way and she said yes but there was nothing that could be done as they only ship it out.... so I thought hmmm I am going to call the DOS to ask and the lady there said it was only a typo in this letter only and if the beneficiarys name and case numbers were correct not to worry ... well the more i think about it the more i am worried as my case is going to casablanca...i think that's all i need to say about casa...
Does anyone have any advice or has anyone heard of this -- and if so did it cause a problem??
Thanks- Malarie

Well I dont know if this is any consolation at all -- cuz it really isnt to me -- but I also called the Department of State yesterday (as my petition was forwarded on May7th). I did speak with a very very nice lady and I told her that my husband is from Morocco and asked if she had anything at all that she could tell me about what is going on.
Here is what she told me:
1 - the employees are definately working in the consulate
2 - if your husband/fiance anyone going for a non-immigrant visa can elect to move the case to one of the other consulates (in the Morocco location - meaning no you do not have to leave the country) that are listed on the website (I think we all have seen this list) -- this is a possibility, however, this process takes approximately 2 months and the DOS feels the problem will be fixed before then.
3 - she did not know what the protocol would be once the consulate opens (will they reschedule in the order of the applicants who missed their interviews and forward or ?........)
That's she said -- like I said nothing much but I thought I would share.

For the people that have gotten notified from NVC about their I-129 how did you find out they had your I-129?
interview...what does it mean?

OK OOPS didnt see ths one....
What they are looking for is his court record to say NEANT with the line through it and the stamp in the line..... I read others had problems with this so I made sure my hubby got what Casa is looking for.
The good news is I believe you are all good if they asked you to bring it back....he should do so ASAP! I am sure they will ask him for his passport at this time.
This happened to one of my other friends and they brought the paper back the next day and he had his visa within 10 days.....
So -- be happy this is a good thing!!!
Good Luck with getting the court paper!!
