  1. My wife's AOS was approved and we received the standard emails from USCIS; Welcome letter sent, ordered production of GC, etc.....

So we are eagerly awaiting arrival of her GC, and checking the mailbox everyday. I check the mail again today and it's a letter a letter from USCIS. Of course it's not labeled as such, but I reach into the mailbox and can feel the card inside, and hold it up to the light and see the USCIS name and logo thru the envelope. I'm so exicted it has finally arrived!!! I flip it over to look at the name, expecting it to be my wife, and I can't believe what I see. The letter is addressed to someone with a name similar to my wife's maiden name, with an address in Savannah Georgia. #######!!!! How did a letter for an entirely different person (also awaiting a GC), with an address in Georgia, make it all the way to my home in Los Angeles??? I mean, it doesn't make any sense that the letter made it all the way to our home, and coincidentally, my wife is also waiting for her GC. I almost decided to open the letter in hope of the card inside actually having my wife's name on it. Of course, that would be a crime.....

I wonder if that person in Savannah Georgia received my wife's GC, too???

This is shocking! USCIS should be informed immediately of this error and hope they do something about it and that it won't happen again

  2. Hi all-I guess I am a "newbie" to the AOS forum.... but I thought I would post in the hope that others in the same stage/process/DORA...whatever might find this helpful.

Mark's AOS interview was yesterday in Dallas and it was really straight forward. They took the entire I-485 packet and the $325 and $70 fees [money orders only]and told us to return for the interview in half an hour as we were accepted into the Rapid Adjustment program there.

The interview was painless....the officer was professional, to-the-point and checked the entire packet bit by bit.

She asked a couple of questions but asked for none of the pictures and evidence I had brought-I basically forced her too look at our wedding pictures ( I thought "I brought them-you are gonna see them")

Anyway-she said at the end-"OK-name checks to do and you are done".

We do need biometrics for the AOS and she said in about a week we will have an appointment for the following week for those.

    Not too bad really.

Sorry not a detailed post, but I did write a review and Mark wrote about it on the Netherlands thread too.

Hope everyone else is doing good!

    Michele

Yupp...ours was painless too...we did post our nice experience at the Dallas District Office at N. Stemmons a month ago...got our Biometrics a month after the interview...now waiting pending FBI name checks...

Here's hoping to all those who underwent the DORA interview/biometrics to have their welcome letters soon..

May you have your biometrics soon and the green card as well...Godspeed to all!

  3. Typing Speed Test (WPM)

This tests how many words you can type in a minute. Just click on the start button and start typing. It will let you know when to stop. Grab a sheet of paper and copy what's on it, or just type about whatever's on your mind.

''You typed 47 words per minute''

    How fast you type?

    (F)

    86

117 words per minute. However, the test is incomplete, because it does not check for accuracy. My normal WPM score is around 100, when taking into account the mistakes I make and having to go back and correct them.

    http://www.typingtest.com/

    Test Time: 01:00

    - Gross Speed: 63 WPM

    - Errors: 1

    - Accuracy: 98%

    - NET SPEED: 62 WPM

  4. Hi...my daughters and I are waiting for updates from USCIS after we have applied AOS thru the DORA program. We had been interviewed successfully last November 27, 2006 and our biometrics taken last December 26, 2006. We have noticed that USCIS touched our AOS cases on December 27, 2006 and January 04, 2007. Our I-129F (previously approved Fiance's visa petition) was touched last December 28, 2006 (that the petition was approved last August 30, 2006...funny because we are already here in the U.S. before they updated it on-lilne). We requested that USCIS email us for any updates of our portfolio (the 3 AOS accounts and the I-129F).

We did not receive any email from any of the above touches until today. Can anyone tell us what this email is all about? Did anyone receive this kind of email? Here is the email from CRIS:
