Congratulations! It's exciting to start see some of the July filers get EAD approval!
Thank you!!! Us July filers are definitely up next for EAD approvals.

Congrats,

Received EAD/AP card in the mail today. We aren't really sure exactly when the card was put in our mailbox since I didn't get a notification via USPS informed delivery that we had mail. I guess USPS informed delivery doesn't work for priority mail? I don't know.....but we did get the notification for the approval letter.

Hubby received his EAD and AP approval letter in the mail today. We are so excited. He has his resume ready to send to anywhere that's willing to hire him at this point, since he's still waiting for his degree from the university he attended in Jamaica. Hoping he gets the combo card in the mail by the end of the week.
FYI: There hasn't been any update(s) on our USCIS profile or phone app (status still states case received for EAD and AP) . We did make a service request on day 78, we received a generic response stating we would receive a reply by October 3rd, we never heard back.

Hey guys! I submitted a SR September 11th and the email stated that I’d get a response by October 3rd. Unfortunately I didn’t get anything. Is there anyone that has/had the same issue and if so did you guys call the National Service Center or what did you do? I’m at day 98 right now (EAD/AP).
Thanks in advance! :-)
Hi! I'm a July filer, I submitted a service request a couple of weeks ago. The email receipt I received stated I will receive a response by October 3rd. Like you, I have not heard anything about my request yet.

I have signed up for USPS Informed Delivery using hubby’s details back in June. I got a notification saying 2 letters from USCIS will be delivered today! Can’t wait to go home and check. 😁
That's a good idea. Hubby is sick of checking the mailbox everyday and being disappointed. I think I'll have him sign up.

Hi guys,
Anyone here received an update on their GC, EAD or AP without the expedite request?
Thanks
Nope! It seems like most of us that didn't expedite are still waiting to hear something post biometrics. I think anyone going through this process can declare financial hardship in some way, given that you are now taking care of 1 more person on whatever income you have. I'll continue to wait my turn in line though and try to be patient....

Did he apply for DL before he'd gotten the NOA-1? If so, definitely try to exchange it. We are in Houston, but in Texas you can apply for DL, or take written or road tests at any DPS location. I applied in Houston, sat for my written test there, but went to Rosenberg for a road test. It worked fine for me! Rosenberg is one of the best DPS offices, btw. So fast, efficient, and friendly - unlike most other DPS locations. Well worth trying if you are somewhere close by.
Thank you! He applied for his driving permit before we received the NOA. He did get it, but he's still learning how to drive so we want to extend (it's expiring soon). I'm not close to Houston, I'm closer to SA...so we will try at a local DPS.

Last week, we recieved our letter for biometric appointment on August 11, but will try to do a day earlier due to scheduled trip.
Also, I was able to get my Texas driver's license today. Texas DPS accepted NOA-1 for AOS as proof of my immigration satus and issued driver's license for one year. It can be exchanged for 10 year DL after my EAD approved. Very happy!
Good to hear that you were able to get your DL. I'm in Texas too and my hubby was given his permit with the same expiration date as the I-94. If you don't mind sharing, which city did you get your DL? I might have hubby try his luck to extend his permit using the NOA.

Received another biometrics letter too ugh, it makes no sense to me to have to do this twice for the the same USCIS entity. This one is for the EAD and 1 week after the GC biometric appointment. I won't be taking any more days off work and hubby only has a learning permit to drive, so I'm going to ask to complete both on the same day when we show up for the GC biometrics appointment. For those who plan on asking to complete both biometrics on the same day, please keep me informed on if you were able to do so.

Just want to give an update here. I re-sent my package on 7/20, it got delivered on 7/22, and today (7/29) when I woke up I got text/email receipt for all 4 forms- I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765. :-)
Awesome!!! You'll probably get the biometrics letter next week.

Woot woot, received our biometrics appointment letter today. No emails/texts or update on the USCIS website. Hubby is so excited, he's tired of being home and not working so he's looking forward to getting his EAD....I am too, it's very expensive supporting 2 people on 1 income.

I can track my EAD now.

Any news yet?
Received my NOA1 texts the same day as you, just got my physical copies in the mail today. Did you get yours yet?
No! Nothing in the mail as yet. I noticed that I'm able to track form 485 and 131, but not the EAD. It's saying the recepit number is invalid. I don't know what that's about, but I'm just patiently waiting again.

I only included one G-1145 and got texts/emails for the I-485, I-131 and I-765
Same here! We only sent 1 and received email and text for the 3 applications submitted.

Hello! Thanks for asking! I got update too yesterday however it's a returned package... USCIS staff mis-placed my i-485 and couldn't find it inside a big pile of other paper...
I had to fix the package and ship it out today... It's been rough 2 weeks waiting for update but at least i found out what happened.
Oh wow! That's crazy, but like you said at least now you know.

Thanks for sharing your timeline. Good luck to both of us!!!
This is the first time I apply for AOS since I have been on H1B visa for 4 years, not sure if that could be the reason why it's slow.
Hey! Anything yet for you? We finally received our NOA1 last night around 11:20 PM, 3 text/emails for AOS, EAD, AP. This was 14 days after our packet was delivered, happy nonetheless.

mine was delivered on 7/5, and it's been 13 days no update at all.. i think so far my timeline has been the worst in this post...
Hey! Ours was delivered on 7/5 too and we haven't received anything either, check still hasn't been cashed. We've reviewed a copy of what we sent, so far we didn't find anything that could be a problem. So we are just patiently waiting. Our K-1 went pretty fast so we are just looking at it as we didn't get lucky this time around, as far as fast processing. Good luck to you!!!

Per USPS, our AOS packet was delivered July 5, 2017. Still no notification, check still hasn't be cashed either.

July 2017 filer here. We used the old I-485, we already had it filled out prior to them changing it around June 26. The USCIS states the old edition (1/17/17) can be used until 08/25/2017, so we went ahead and decided not to fill out the new edition. Good luck everyone!!!

July 2017 AOS Fillers
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Hey all,
It's been a while. My husband had his green card interview a couple of weeks ago. He was approved on the spot. He physically received his green card 1 week after the interview. I'm so glad it's over, would I do it again? No, I wouldn't. I caution any American citizen about marrying someone from a country that is considered "third world". What I've now learned is people will morphed into a different person, just to get out of a country like Jamaica. Then once they get to America, you truly see their true colors. I know this isn't the story for all, but unfortunately it's for some of us. Good luck everyone!!!
