  1. Done with my medical exams last december 8 and got the result december 9. Super thankful that i passed the medical. Now i am so ready for my interview on the 22nd except i am still waiting for the affidavit of support my fiance sent to me. He sent it last Nov.18 and accrdg to USPS it will just take 7-10 days. its already 3 weeks since he sent it and still receive no mail. Starting to freak me out.

I don't think they require a copy with a wet signature. A scanned and emailed copy should work.

  2. Just wanted to share what I saw during our interview.

My fiancee and I were directly ahead of another couple during the interview process. When we were called to the window to hand over the necessary documents, we had everything ready and organized. We came with all the documents sorted and in transparent folders (which wasn't necessary). We spent about 10 mins at the window handing over documents, signing papers, and doing finger prints. Zero problems and easy process.

Now the couple directly behind us was a different story. I don't know how much this played in to it, but they looked like a total mismatch. She looked like she was around 22-23 years old and had supermodel good looks, definitely a very pretty and well dressed girl. He on the other hand was a heavyset, mid 30's American man, that looked like a complete slob. Didn't look like he had bathed recently and looked like he was wearing dirty clothes. I mention this because when they got to window to hand over documents she was getting grilled with questions already. They did not have their documents organized and seemed to be missing some. The lady behind the counter was an older Ukrainian, and seemed very suspicious of them I would say. They stayed at the window for a long time.

Our interview only lasted a few minutes and we didn't wait around to see how theirs went, but if the encounter at the document window was any indication, they were going to be in for a rough interview.

Make sure you have your documents in order!

  3. Hello!

Our case is now listed as ready according to the CEAC website. The instructions are murky at best on the Kyiv embassy website and information on this page contradicts the embassy website quite often. My questions are as follows:

Once case status says ready the interview can be scheduled? Do the fees and DS-160 need to be completed first? I have not received an email yet, but I also haven't received an email at any step of the process so far even though I submitted the form for electronic communication and listed my email on the I-129f.

My fiancee has scheduled her medical and they absolutely insist that she has to have all vaccinations current. The website specifically says that K-1 visa applicants are not required to be vaccinated. She is having trouble finding these records and might not be able to find them in time.

    Thanks for any help!

  4. I hate to say it, but I think there will end up being some significant immigration reform. Not only did Trump win the Presidency, but there is now a Republican controlled House, Senate, and Executive Branch. American sentiment towards Muslims is not terribly good right now. I think a big reason Trump won, was the pandering to the hysterical masses.

  5. i wanted to ask tax return wise , tax return 2016 will not be required till april correct , so any person having a interview before April should be sufficient with a 2015 tax return , am i right about this? so then ppl interviewing in april and after will haveto obtain the 2016 tax return

I am taking a 2015 Tax return, last 6 pay statements, and a letter from my employer stating I have full time employment and what my base salary is. I think that is plenty to prove income. I'll post how it goes in December.
