  1. What you end up doing for the vaccination?

Mines has MMR and Varicella 1st shot given. However, TD shot is marked (D not routinely available). It does have "US vaccination requirements complete" marked.

So you think the "TD shot, FLU, and I-693 need to be filled out by Civil surgeon"? I called a couple of places. About $200 ($90 visit, TD shot $90, and Flu shot $35 without insurance). Thanks!

  2. Actually, I was corrected. You are given 2 copies of the same number. First time they call you it's to turn in your paperwork as stated in the "K Visa Instruction Sept 2016". Then you wait 30 to 60 minutes depending on how busy it is. They will call your number again. This is is the short 10 minute interview where they will take your fingerprints too. Anyways, I was told there is no need to worry as you can ask any staff member if you need or had any questions while you are there. Make sure you practice the top interview questions listed on this site as they seem to ask most of them for us.

  3. You completed the DS160 and should have saved a copy as PDF. Click on "Retrieve Application" to bring it up again. Bring a copy to medical and interview.

You get finger printed at Window 1 at your interview date. They will also ask for the documents at this time. Then you wait up to an hour for your 2nd number to be called and go to that window for a quick 10 minute interview.

  4. I can't say for sure. They don't care about the original 30 year old certificate of birth. The local local notary asked us to go to local village and ask for new certificate of birth. The original had the incorrect DOB that didn't match her chinese ID card anyways. They should be able to look up her parent's citizen number so it can be included in this new birth certificate. Then she took that hand written new birth certificate (by some local village officer) and the local notary converted it to whitebook. There is no straight forward process but it gets easy if the fiancee just goes to notary, translation service company, local police, and ask around. Google Image search "china birth certificate whitebook". Those are the whitebooks you will need for interview.

  5. Oct 26 may be too soon; u can reschedule at CGI Stanley it if you don't have documents ready.

He should have downloaded the "K Visa Instructions Sept 2016". It states birth, unmarried status, an police record must be from the local Notary Public Office. Find this office and ask them. For us, we had to go back to local Public Security Buearu to get "no criminal record" and "updated birth certificate" because it original had wrong DOB. Then you takes this items to the local Notary and they will turn in in whitebooks which takes up to 5 business days. The whitebook wiill contain the citizen ID, dob, parents names, etc.

  6. I wanted to add they do collect ur chinese passport, ds-160 confirmation, and 2 US passport photos at the windows 1. For the passport photos, get it done at a shop to make sure it's 2x2 on white background and meets requirements. Refer to "K1 Visa Instructions Sept. 2016" to see all documents required.

Additional interview questions. Are you affiliated with chinese communist party? Have you travel outside of china before or to US?

Like I said, the place is noisy and there are other people on windows next to you. So ask to repeat or clarify questions if needed.

  7. Gotcha,

Next question: because we are currently having a back and forth of when to pay the CITIC fee. I've read previously that once the case is undergoing "Administrative Processing" we can pay the CITIC fee (after filing, sending in Packet 3). She's saying from what she is reading we have to wait for a confirmation email and Packet 4 before we can pay CITIC fee. Can you provide clarification on this, and your experience on when the fee was paid?

Just for the record, I called Guangzhou yesterday and spoke with someone, they told me not to schedule interview or pay visa fee until we receive packet 4 and confirmation email, but this person I spoke with also said we needed our resumes notarized (#######?) and no single status certificate (double #######). I trust this forum versus someone who may have been having a bad day at the office. Thanks again!

We just go approved at the Interview! I only visited her for 2.5 weeks once and wasn't able to make it to interview. So let me tell you from my experience.

We paid the CITIC fee a few days after we sent packet 3. But you can also pay it after you get the Packet 4 e-mail. You pay it online on the CGI Stanley site with UnionPay (3% fee) through their Citic Bank portal. You can use do it for her. Or you can print cgi reference number and pay at citic bank. Then you Receipt number will be attached to account as proof of payment. After you pay, it will let you select a date for interview. We choose to exit the browser at that time to see if Packet 4 assigns us a date.

So we get Packet 4 e-mail asking us to pay Visa fee if not done so, select Interview Time, and finish preparing documents. So we log back in to CGI and picked a date. Lots of appointments. Pick the 7:45 am time if you can. So I recommend don't schedule an interview as it tells you to wait for packet 4 before scheduling anyways. No need to rush things. Pick a time at least 2 weeks so you have time for medical, pick up medical results, and other documents.

Yes, bring a Resume in Chinese and English. No, I don't think it has to be notarized because it's not a government document.

At the interview, they only collected the i-134, cgi stanley appointment letter, packet 4 e-mail, unmarried status cert, police cert, and birth certificate. They did not collect or ask to see pictures, phone records, wechats, or resume. However, bring them anyways because you suppose to. Remember the i-134a must be wet signature and all government docs must be whitebooks from your local public notary.

The place is packed. There are like 20 banker like windows. You get in line to get two numbers. They call up your number. They will ask for items one at a time. Then you wait for your 2nd number to be called. It was about a 40 minute me wait. Then you go another banker like window for interview.

The interview questions are from http://www.visajourney.com/content/exampleq. More specific to us.

What is your fiance's name? How did you met? Does he speak Chinese? (a little, so guys switched to English haha, but you can also for all chinese interview I assume better to say your petitioner speaks alot of Chinese?) Who introduce you two? When did visit you? What is his birth date? Why do you like him? You been approved. Here is a visa approval letter. Let's take your fingerprints. You will get your passport with visa in a week or two. Done. Total interview time was 10 minutes. Total time was 1.5 hours.

  8. Anyone know if a "unmarried status" notarial certificate from May 2016 is valid for a interview Oct 2016?

Any other forms regarding being single needed?

Do they collect the Resume? Got one and translation. Work history is complete. But forgot to include address of the primary school. Trying to see if you think it needs to be redone.

Finally, I don't see Jewelry as an item prohibited in the Guangzhou consulate. Can someone confirm if an engagement ring or necklace is allow?

    Thanks guys!

  9. Not sure. Mines took only 3 days to get it after consulate received it , or only 30 days after NOA2. But had it been taking 5 weeks for most people after consulate receives it in the past. I didn't put a chinese mailing address. So the a GZ rep actually called fiancee for a chinese mailling address for EMS delivery.

packet 3 just contains the pk3 letter with your GUZ case number and instructions, a copy of the approved I-129F, and asking you to "Prepare Documents" in the "K Visa Instructions Sept 2016". After sending the DS-160 confirmation, passport copy, and photos, etc. Got Pk4 e-mail after 7 days, a letter asking to make appointment, pay visa fees, medical, and finish "Prepare Documents" before interview.

Also, gathering up the Chinese Notary White Books from the local notary taking longer than expected. Usually it takes less than 5 days but with Chinese National holiday it taking 2 weeks for us.

Fill in your timeline. Look at mines but everyone timelines will be slightly difference.

  10. I just got Packet 4 today. My NOA1 is June 8. So fast. Mines has no appointment date but ask to

See attachments copy of my pk4 and cgi stanley visa fee payment and appt scheduling.

    1) register at ustraveldocs.com to pay visa fee and schedule appointment

    2) print "K Visa Instruction Packet" and Prepare Documents.

    3) get medical and bring copy of this email

    4) attend interview with all documents from "K Visa Instruction Packet"

    5) Applicants must bring copy of letter to medical and interview.

Anyone know if a 7:45, 8:15, or 8:40 appointment time slot is best?

I signed up for CGI Stanley and pay visa $265 fee after mailing off PKT3. Perhaps if I paid visa fee before sending pkt3 then maybe an appointment would be set. Personally, I rather schedule appointment myself as it takes people different times to Prepare Documents.

No matter, lots of appointments available September 26, 27, then Oct 11 onward.

It seem better to Prepare Documents in the "K Visa Instructions Packet" first before setting up an appointment. You don't know how long i takes to get all those documents.

I plan to set up an appointment after I get police report so shooting for an oct 11 appointment.

    Hope it helps.

As a side note, we wasted 3 hours trying to pay the $265 fee. It has an option to pay with Citic bank card or UnionPay. We had UnionPay but it opens up as a Pop UP. Once we got it open, we got "Internal Server 500 error". Anyways, 3 hours later we tried again to pay with UnionPay it worked about 1775 RMB.

  11. Hi everyone,

I want to check with some of the recent K1 filer if one police record still covers all of China?

My fiancee resides in the guangdong province. She was born in a village then lived in Taishan City, Guangdong most of her life except she worked in Guangzhou for 2 years recently.

She got her White Book from the Taishan City PSB for birth and unmarried status 3 months ago. I assume for police record she will need to the same and it will cover her for Guangzhou also? She's checking with some local immigration folks. She said something along the lines of going to village to some paperwork then going to Taishan PSB.

    http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/41297-police-report/page-2

Thanks, we are also there and will be sending pkt3 as soon as she can get some date on when the police report is ready.

    Thanks,

    James

  12. Hey guys,

I only have 1 trip and spent 3 weeks with my financee in China. We traveled to guangzhou, hong kong, and surrounding areas. We have pictures with both families, wechat, phone records, some e-mails, some mail records, all official docs (birth, unmarried status), and everything else is in order.

But my financee said her friend recommends more than 1 visit. What do you guys think or how many visit ya had for China?

I can technically make one longer trip (2 weeks) and come like 3 days before Internet and give her my passport to take to internet as some others have done. But do you think it matters? I'm not worried but my fiancee is. Trying to calm her down. Scheduling with my tight with work. If I can set my return flight to be 10 days after Interview. Hope that's enough.

Also, I'm in Admin Processing so I think Pkt3 is coming this week.

    James

  13. Thanks Steve.

My case show in update today. However, the status only shows up under immigrant visa even though this is a K1 visa non-immigrant. Is this normal? No e-mails from NVC yet. I didn't put the chinese mailing address in the I-129F so hopefully they will translate it before sending out packet 3.

    U.S. Department of State
    IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Ready
Immigrant Visa Case Number: GUZXXXXX 01 GUZ
    Case Creation Date: 19-Aug-2016
    Status Updated Date: 29-Aug-2016
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview
  14. When and Do they ask for mailing address for the K1 visa?

I didn't put the chinese address for my fiancee. However, I notice when I mail her something, someone would manually write his chinese address too before it gets to her.

  15. Congrats! So what's our next step now? Wait till it arrive to the embassy?

I think an e-mail will come from NVC with further instructions. Then it's more consulate specific. I'm not sure of Nepal but for CN it's http://ustraveldocs.com/cn/K1%20Instruction%20DS160-2.pdf. Basically, have to wait for Packet 3 before submitting DS-160 and payment for China.

No sure of Nepal but in China, they don't accept the old handwritten birth certificate from the village. So had to go local government to get a new certificates.

Gather up official documents single status, birth, police record, resume, new letter of intent, preparing for DS160, i134a, etc.

  16. We got our NVC case No. Just now. My fiance called NVC yesterday but it was not there. Our NOA2 date is August 10.

Same for me! We have same NOA2 and it's taking 2 weeks to get to NVC. No delays so far. No e-mails from NVC. However, calling their number and waiting on hold for 1 minute to get your NVC case# after 2 weeks. This step optional as I assume we will get a e-mail with case # later.

    Consulate : Guangzhou, China
    I-129F Sent : 2016-06-06

    NVC Received : 2016-08-23
Date Case #, IIN, and BIN assigned : 2016-08-23
  17. My fiancée does not have any immunization records or does not know. Should she get some shots prior to packet3?

I read that it they never had shots or a record of it they it will take a while to get all the shots which can lead to reschedule of interview.

Just trying to prevent delays. Thoughts?

    Thanks

  18. Anyone got a new copy of the Packet 3/4 K1 visa for GZ that can share?

    http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm this one seems outdated

Also, is a Resume in english&chinese still required? I saw it somewhere before maybe in old packets.

Does the packet 3/4 show how and were to schedule medical?

We already got official martial status and birth certicate from loval govt agency. Can we get the police certificate before packet 3?

    thanks!

    stuff to do:

    ds-160 and payment of $265
    2 passport photos
    birth certificates
    maritial status certificates
    police certificates
    medical exam
    affidavit of support i-134
    evidence of relationship
  19. Good luck to people waiting on approvals!

People that have received NOA2's: Have you received your paper-based copy of the NOA2 in the mail yet? (I-797)

Or has anyone had their case received by the NVC yet?

    I-129F Sent : 2016-06-06
    I-129F NOA1 : 2016-06-08
    I-129F NOA2 : 2016-08-10
