I would like to give you some ideas about N-400 & I-751 of mine:
I applied for  N-400 in 06/06/2017 while my I-751 is still pending over 1 years.
I had an infopass on 05/21 to ask about my I-751 and needed the stamp on my passport for one year extension. Nothing was updated ...! And then I had an infopass on 06/08 to change my home address and asked about I-751. Nothing was updated ...!
One more time on 07/05 I had an infopass to ask about I-751. That time was stress because the local officer told me that my I-751 was hold to combine a interview with N-400. She printed the notice of USCIS to show me that my I-751 was returned to the agent USCIS local office to review (with N-400) on 06/09/2017 after I applied N-400. 
So that I was sure 100% it's be combined interview with N-400 and taking another year to wait for processing, I guessed.
But I got the approval notice from the USCIS local office on 07/09 (I went to infopass on 07/05).
Please try to do whatever you want to do or can do in your best. 
From now on, I trust in myself and keeping to go ahead one way.

My case is on 05/19/2016 ( VSC ). I know the officer is busy for their works and all cases will be approved one by one depending which documents you sent to USCIS. That's why some case was approved sooner than another one. But we should give thanks to the Lord every moments in our life. The life is wonderful and waiting is reasonable. 
If we don't receive any new updates this week, I & my wife, we would go to the representative in Norristown or congressman in Philadelphia. We need their helping!

Yes, I got it this morning too. My Biometrics was 06/21.

I'm getting confused here. I read topics about people applying at least 6months ago, complaining about how lengthy the n-400 process is and how they are stuck in "in line for the interview" status. Then, when I check the March 2017 filers' topic, I see those people starting to get their interview letters already. So, what is really going on as far as processing times?

Sorry to hear about your loss. As per appointing an attorney I do not think you should at this point. You can respond by sending what they asked for on the RFE letter. If you are eventually called for an interview see if you can attend with your late husband's family to support you. I am sure they will be sensitive to such circumstances. Good luck.

I have just received another biometrics appointment letter, scheduled for next Monday. Last one was June 2016. I am so confused, I don't understand...

My case is NOA 05/19/2016 in Vermont and I don't see any new updates until today and I check it everyday also.
What should I do at the moment? Just waiting or call to USCIS to ask about my case?
Please give me some advice!
