Hi Everyoen I am curious... I petitioned my fiancee and am wonderign if he can receive a work permit as soon as he enters the US. I have received coflicting information. My co worker tells me her fiancee received a work permit to work for the 90 days before they married. Is this possible?

I am sorry you have been given incorrect information, if having a K1 visa you have to apply for the AOS, EAD and Advance parole, once you get the Ead that will allow someone to work, while you wait for the green card. How quickly you get it depends on how early you file.

Hi, I'm working on the K1 visa to bring my Fiancee from Canada to the USA

I've got my I-134 form filled out. Is that good enough or do I have to put other items/information with it too?

NAO1 recieved finally.

I only have the vaccination record but not the receipt nor copy of the medical that i had in my country. Seems Messybrownhair is one of the rare lucky one, coz seems mostly here have to have medical check up again. Oh man!!!

If you apply for the Aos within a year of your last medical you dont need to do it again, when I did my aos they did not ask for proof of medical just the vacination records.

Hello, everyone. Today is my first time in Visajourney. My name is Andy, I am glad to be here.

I dont know if someone has lived the same situation than me or knows someone who did.

I got confused with the dates before sending my Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, and, instead of sending

90 days before my GC expires, I sent it 3 months before. I forgot that some months have 30 days, while another has 31 and my package

was sent on June 1st, as I should have sent on June 4th, because my GC expires on September 1st.

So, I have been waiting for my package back, but it did not arrive at my home yet. But, curiously, the VSC cashed the check yesterday.

The question is: is it possible they send me the package back and have cached the check???

I want to believe that they forgave the 92 days and, once they cashed the check yesterday, my extention letter (noa1) is on the way...

But I really do not understand: I did the mistake to send it 2 days before the 90 days and, if they would send me my package back,

why would they cash the check? I think the check should come with the process back, dont you think?

The point is: My GC expires on September 1. I have sent it to VSC on May 31 and the package arrived there on June 1.

And now, I have no process back, I have no noa1, but the check was cashed yesterday.

What do you think about that, guys?

Hi Andy,

I wouldnt think they would cash your check if they were going to send it back to you, I think you will get your Nao1. This is just my opinion and not based on fact.

I wish I could get my NAO1 or they would cash my check, hope nothing is wrong, I know they have received it.

i log in here every day and i have seen recently more vermont´s cases aprove wich is good for all those who have got their NOA2!!! but i dont understand why our havent been aproved we sent it jan 18 2011 and still nothing might not been long but it gets harder when i see other people´s visa getting aprove from feb . why some get aprove before others ???? just a question

I am sorry that you are waiting, but this is normal they select cases at random, this may not be right but that is how it is. Once you are approved and together this will all seem irrevelent. Keep strong the approval will come.

I got a notice for the 10th this month. Can my husband and baby come with me to the CIS office? I called and asked about this but the girl couldn't give me an answer. What's been your experience?

When I had my biometrics done in Atlanta, my hubby the usc had to wait outside, it may depend on the location.

I thought it was odd too, seems like we are in for a wait unfortunately.

Happen to check my phone and saw a wierd text message from an unknown sender. It reads YOUR APPROVED. In so many words.

I'm sorry for adding this, but.... If he is currently married (legally he is mind you), is this going to be a red flag when he goes to file and shows he met someone within past 2 years and started a relation? In some states, even if you are legally separated, you can still be charged with adultery should your significant other wish to pursue.And this will be a sworn direct admission of engaging in a relationship with the intent to marry prior to being legally divorced.. ? I would get some really solid advice on this issue before proceeding with filing. And you have a little time before that can happen anyhow. Good Luck......

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has fully implemented the Secure Mail Initiative (SMI), which uses U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation to deliver certain immigration documents in a safe, secure and timely manner.

Made possible by a partnership between USCIS and the USPS, the SMI enables USCIS to confirm delivery of permanent resident cards and documents pertaining to travel and employment authorization. With USPS tracking information, USCIS customers can easily stay up-to-date on the delivery status of their documents and USCIS can confirm that these essential documents were delivered to the proper address.

SMI provides USCIS customers many benefits, including:

The ability to track the status of their documents with USPS tracking information

Quicker delivery—on average, documents sent through USPS Priority Mail should arrive two to four business days sooner than with first-class mail

Customers who receive notices of approval can contact USCIS’s Customer Service Center at 800-375-5283 to request tracking information for their documents. USCIS customer service representatives will provide customers with their USPS tracking number and current USPS delivery status.

Customers should wait at least two weeks after getting their approval notice before calling for information regarding their cases. When requesting tracking information, customers must also provide information from the receipt notice they received when they submitted their initial application. After receiving the tracking number from the USCIS Customer Service Center, customers can track the delivery status by visiting the Postal Service website at www.usps.comExit Disclaimer and entering the USPS tracking number into the Track & Confirm field.

SMI was one of several enhancements resulting from USCIS’s 2007 final fee schedule. USCIS first piloted the initiative in July 2008, delivering all re-entry permits and refugee travel documents using USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. USCIS has also used SMI processes since July 2009 for re-mailing all permanent residence cards, as well as employment authorization and travel documents returned by the USPS to USCIS as undeliverable.

OMG!! Today, exactly 4 months from our NOA1 date, I received the text message and email notification that our petition has been approved in Vermont!! Thank you, God!!!!!! I knew I would be happy but I had NO IDEA it would feel this good! I started shaking like a leaf and couldn't even speak! I am absolutely over the moon. It is random whether you get an interview for AOS, most K1s dont as they are interviewed by an officer when they get the K1 visa, if your case gets transferred to California you will just be sent the approval without interview.
