Hello Montse,
We're you able to obtain your no objection letter? I need the no objection letter as well, my country of origin is Mexico, thank you for the information you can provide as to how to obtain and submit the letter to the Department of state
I think all depends how and why you have the J1 in the first place. I think I answer you in another post
Best of luck

Hello Ani89,
I need to obtain my no objection letter but I do not know where to obtain it, is it from the local consulate (I am in El Paso area) or does it have to come from the Mexican Embassy in Washington?
Thanks for the information
Hello, the no objection letter you need to got it from mexico (the conditional country where you got your scholarship). In my case the government was providing me a scholarship that's why I had my J1 Visa. When they "release" you they give you the no objection letter which means they are ok with the U.S. to remove the 2 years condition. I don't know If this answer your question.

Good Morning!
I had my interview yesterday and it was the best experience ever! the USCIS officer was really nice, funny and talkative. We share stories and laugh together. They approved my case and today the web page was updated. Now the waiting begins for the card in the mail. Does anyone know how much time this could be?

Oh right, I see, yea the certified copy, and I forgot you already have your card! So yea and you have your interview scheduled so your i-485 is in Houston as you say, but the others never go there.
No. They canceled my interview

Why not just call? and put in a SR?
I already did. They told me to send the letter with my marriage certificate and the EAD combo card

lol well the EAD/AP are processed only at the NBC, some of the i-485's where the interview is waived are also processed at the NBC at the moment. USCIS constantly rework how they distribute workload over different centers. So unless you were notified that your i-485 was transferred it's still at NBC as well.
Oh wow! You're very helpful thank you so much! I need to send a letter to change my name and I was wondering where to send it

Quick question. If all my NOA have as an address Lee's Summit, MO means that my case is in Missouri?

Hi Ani
After reading a few threads about this I'm convinced is nothing to worry about. It does however suck haha.
Like boo&mica mentioned I feel uneasy too about the whole political thing, specially being from Mexico. My AP was mailed to me but I wouldn't feel safe traveling out of the country until I have my green card.
I just want this over with
I know is hard. I hope you can make it to you interview. I feel so bad about this. But you're rigth political issues are going to delay all the process. When is your appointment?

Good morning!
Yesterday early am I got this email:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Testing and Interview
On June 7, 2016, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC****. Your interview is on July 14, 2016. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by July 7, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived). This morning early am like yesterday I got this update:

I am moving on Saturday and I am worried that with that something wil be lost in the mail.
Thank you
Hi, can you update what happens next? I'm in the exact situation here. Thanks

Hey June filers, we attended my wife's AOS interview December 21 in San Francisco. We received e-mail and text notices that she was approved on December 29th and then received another e-mail and text that the green card was supposedly mailed on January 4th. Now 1 month later we still have not received it. I put in an inquiry and they gave the standard your request will be answered within 30 days. Just checking to see if anyone else has been approved but it took over a month to receive the green card. We have received every piece of mail sent up to this point and the EAD/AP card only took a few days to get to us once it was sent so there has been no issues receiving anything from immigration. Strangely we never received a USPS tracking number for the green card though we got one for the EAD/AP card. I'm hoping this just means it hasn't been mailed yet. Hopefully they are just slow mailing these things out right now.
My dad waited for 8 months to get the green card. We did several inquiry and that helps

Did they give you a real reason?
No, the NOA letter said:
"This is to advice you that, due to unforseen circunstances, we have canceled the previews schedule interview on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenient this may cause.you will be notified of any further action taken on this case, including and rescheduling interview information, under separate notice."

Alright, you still have some time. Opening a joint bank account is super easy. Even if it is not in the same bank that you already have an account at. There are plenty of things you can bring to the interview. What about utility bills? rental agreements? mail under both of your names with the same address. Dental, health, car, or life insurance. If you get your EAD, you can also go and get your driver's license which shows your current address.
If you added him on your account, what you can do is go to customer service at the bank and ask them to write a letter stating the date where you added him.
My interview was canceled today due to unforseen circunstances

I have a friend who went through this sitiuation at the begining of the year. She got her EAD in november and her interview was scheduled for january 9th. She got denied because during the interview they told her she does not have enough proof of a bona fide marriage. BUT, after a week a letter came to the mail explaining why she got denied and what she needs to send in order to get a second chance. She has 30 days to send the papers and she still has el EAD and it is valid.
She even got her new driver's license yesterday with her EAD card. So, I think it depends on the situation and if they give you a chance to present more papers or not.
OMG I'm scare of being denied. I dont have any joint accounts. We had them already with the same banks so is hard to get one. I add him to my account but his name doesnt appear on paper. The only thing we have are photos and insurance

Morning,
The EAD is not dependent on you having a job... It gives you permission to work in case you are offered a job.. The EAD is just temporary, so you can work while waiting on the GC.
Thank you! so I do not needed if I have my interview date
-
Good morning November's,
I have a quick question. If you get your EAD card and then you have you interview and they denied what happens with your EAD? Also, the green card needs the EAD or is just while you have your I-485 approved?
Thank you in advance.
A.

I've been stuck in "Fingerprint fee received" also, but in my case since June 4th. I Called USCIS and got a Service Request #. The lady that took my call was very nice and said that my case was over the processing times and that I should get an answer on the status of my case within 30 days. Let's see what happens. I'm trying not to be discouraged but my patience is very fragile.
On the other hand, VJ process timelines shows 365 days as the avg. total days to get an interview in Tampa...bummer this is horrible, am I going to have to wait a whole year for this to be solved?!?!?!
You received your combo cards before your interview?
