Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to share that we had our AOS interview Yesterday at the Santa Ana, CA  office.

The meeting lasted around 1 hour, the questions were mostly on what was submitted and the forms we filled out.  Only other questions were about how we meet and why we took so long to file for AOS, since we've been married over 5 years.

When we got the approval letter in mail, online status changed a week after!

Crossing all 20 fingers for it to be your EAD !!!

EAD approved five months ago but due to administrative error, never received my card. Had my biometrics done last month. I checked informed delivery today and I see something coming from USCIS. I hope its my EAD!!!  I am so frustrated. No update online however!

Ours came in a USCIS envelope, it was delivered a week after we got the notification on the egov site. HTH

Hello Everyone !  ! !  

I've been away from the forums for about 5 months, in order to stay sane with this sloooooow immigration process, but this morning we got a sms notification that there was activity in the 485 case for my wife , lo and behold , we have a Interview Date for March 22nd ! ! ! ,  our Field office is in Santa Ana, CA .

I would like to ask to anyone that has done their interview, what pointers can you provide, things that you went throug and what came up that was un-expected.  

And to the people still on the waiting game, persevere and don't give up !!

My wife did a walk-in today and was told that she needed to bring her Marriage Certificate   , not sure why since on the notice letter says to only bring that same letter and a goverment ID  or passport and she brought both ... 

Good thing the USCIS office is 10 mins away from her work.

Here's our timeline:

06/06/17 - Sent package to USCIS Chicago Lockbox

06/07/17 - Package received and signed by a J C at USCIS  ** Priority date **

06/13/17 - Received 4 emails for I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765

06/14/17 - Checks cashed

06/19/17 - Received 4x I-797C NOA

06/23/17 - Received Biometrics Appointment letter

We received 4 I-797C Forms, one for each of the forms submited,  our priority date is June 7th.

Now to wait for the Biometrics letter.

BTW did anyone that mailed the G-1145 form, received the letter with instructions on making the online account to check the progress of the case ?

Here's our timeline:

06/06/17 - Sent package to USCIS Chicago Lockbox

06/07/17 - Package received and signed by a J C at USCIS  ** Priority date **

06/13/17 - Received 4 emails for I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765

06/14/17 - Checks cashed

06/19/17 - Received 4x I-797C NOA 

Well , yesterday I received the Passport Card, this being the last piece of mail I was waiting for since the passport booklet and the naturalization certificate came back during the week.

Tomorrow I'll be going to the Social Security office to make the name change and process the new card, then in a couple of weeks I'll be going to the DMV to change the name on the Driving License and hopefully this will conclude my whole Visa Journey ( pun intended ) .... it just took me 12 years.... any how.

Hello everyone, seems I haven't been in this forum forever.... anyhow , I just wanted to inform you that I received my passport today!!!

It took 3 weeks and it was normal processing,  so far I only got the book passport,  I should be getting the passport card in a separate mailing as well as my Naturalization Certificate.

Next steps are to update SS Card and when that is done the Driving License

@Angelica48  Congrats !!!

What date did you get ?  and are you going to try and go before the date ?

I know several people that went way before their scheduled date to have the bio metrics done, some were not asked anything by the personnel and the ones that did get asked, said that they had something else on that date and came before, but no one got turned away for what I know.

I sent mine june 2nd and arrived june 5th to the chicago lockbox and I havent received anything yet.

I'm getting worried about being lost.

It took 1 week for mine and that seems to be what other people have experienced.

Have the checks been cashed? 

Don't get worried, ( easy to say I know) , just wait for any notifications on the mail .

We didn't do K1 , but what I remember reading regarding the I-693 Medical Examination is only valid for 1 year, I would recommend to read the instructions on that form to get a better idea of what you can do.

I did attach form G1145 but only got the emails, no text messages ... either way I should get the sign up info to track the case at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov or https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus.

I got 4 emails last night that our case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

I'm guessing it passed the initial review, since I' can see the Checks are being cashed.

Finally I was able to mail the AOS packet to the Chicago Lockbox. 

Now the countdown begins

@Jass  welcome to the forum, I'm going to also prepare an I-131 since my wife wants to go and visit family as well and then I'll just have her proof read all the AOS package so we can send it out tomorrow morning! 

Sup guys, I just got like 10 emails with an update on my case ... ( weird since I already am Naturalized ) it says that "On May 22, 2017, we approved your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number  XXXXXXXXX "

Went to the website and says that the "On May 22, 2017, we approved your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice"

Did anyone receive this as well ?  I'm just intrigued as to what they think they approved ... anyways,  I'm still waiting for my passport since I did regular processing.

I wanted to report to ya'll that as of today I have become a US Citizen !!! it took me 12 years from when I started the process to get sponsored by my job , then getting the GC and finally obtaining the Citizenship.

There were 4,459 people becoming citizens today, it was jammed packed with hundreds and hundreds of guests, the speeches, although good ones, took longer than I wanted, but that's the ceremonial part we all get to enjoy. I can confirm that there's still no video from our president nor a welcome letter in  the package we get from USCIS.

I have yet to sign my certificate and make all the copies and scans needed.  I'll be applying for the US Passport this week and hopefully get it before the 4th of July when I will celebrate my first Independence day as a US Citizen.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for interviews and oath ceremonies, the process sure does take longer now with the ELIS system but there's light at the end of the tunnel. 

Tomorrow is the Oath Ceremony at the LA Convention Center, last step on a 12 year journey for myself, will report how things went.

thanks for your advice and will update the situation for you guys 

 

Like I mentioned, ask your mail man , the neighbors, since they should have mailed it a day or two after you saw the PDF and if it says May 23rd oath ceremony , you need to get it  , worst case, you print the PDF and make it there, since you still have to fill the back of the letter with some questions... but those don't show up onf the PDF.
