  1. Hey,

I (beneficiary) realized that some other beneficiaries when their spouse filed for them, they added beneficiary's birth certificate.

I did not find anything in the instruction for i-130 saying that I need my birth certificate. I understand that we may use one for petitioner (in order to see if the petitioner is U.S. citizen or not), but I am not sure if they still need mine.

    Does anyone know?

  2. Right. I know my letter says business days since I've read it dozens of times. Ha. Anyway 60 business days from the date printed on my letter would be July 27th. I really hope to get my certificate soon! I hope they don't wait till the last day to send it.

On what date did you get it approved?

And I do not recognize my wife's letter saying business days. I need to go home and check.

  3. Hello,

I'm wondering if your wife has received her replacement certificate yet? I received my approval in May and was also told 60 business days, but still have not received it. When did you receive your approval letter? I filed my n565 in March.

    Hey,

No, she has not received hers just yet.

Coincidentally, her timeline is pretty much same as yours.

She filed in early March, got her approval in May (was about exactly 2 month).

On the approval letter, I think it says 60 days. I do not think it is 60 business days, is it?

  4. That estimate was for between sending the application and receiving the certificate.

Once it's approved, I had assumed that it would only take a few days, but I could be totally wrong.

I don't remember anyone saying that it takes a long time after approval.

    Thank you.

My wife is waiting for her certificate.

It has been approved, and we received the approval letter.

It says that it may take up to 60 days, and it is almost been 60 days.

And I was just curious if others also waited almost 60 days to receive the certificate.

  5. I don't have first hand experience, but the cases I've read about suggest that it's a 6-9 month process. That info might be a little out of date, but should give you a rough idea. It might take 4 months instead, but it isn't going to take 4 weeks.

Yeah, I've heard on the estimate wait time, but what about after it is approved?

Did you hear anything on how long it takes to get the certificate after it is approved?

  6. Hey,

My wife(US Citizen) is filling I-130.

On the instructions, "who may not file form I-130", it says something about adopted child and gained permanence residence through adoption.

My wife was adopted and became US citizen. I am not quite sure at what age she became US citizen. She thinks it's before 16.

Does this mean we can't apply? If not, do we check Part A, question 3 where it asks "Did you gain permanent residence through adoption?"

    Thank you for your time.

  7. Hey~

My wife (US citizen) is in process of filling out i-864 for me.

it says we need tax report as supporting documents.

I do not understand what this could mean.

When they talk about tax report, do they mean those whole documents we received from place like H&R Block (If we used them to file our taxes)?

Or do we just pull out a specific pages from those whole document?

If it is, could you tell me which this would be?

    Thank you in Advance.

  8. Hey,

My wife (US Citizen) is filling out i-864.

In part 6, question 3-12, it asks income she uses from other person in household.

I am a h1b holder and currently make money.

I know I can be listed on it.

But my question is, do my name and salary have to be there when she has a job and makes more than 125%of the poverty line?

And if my name has to be on it, will I need to fill out i-864a with all supporting docs?
