  1. I got my biometric done last week as an early walk in (it's scheduled for Nov.7). However, I recevied two same biometric notice, I got one from last Saturday and one today (Tuesday). Has this happened to anyone else? Received two wo exactly same biometric notice? Should I just ignore them since I already did my bio last week?

I received 2 same biometric letters as well.

Dates are the same and everything else.

I also did walk in for the bio.

I'm sure you have called USCIS for biometric more than once, right?

    I think here's what happened.

1 notice was a normal notice sent by USCIS after your biometric was scheduled and the other was sent via your request.

If you talked to different tier 2 officers in the past, this may be a high possibility.

  2. Hi all, I have been reading pretty much this whole post, I am from Chicago and filed my AOS package in Chicago.

It sucks to see that people before and after me (and others with similar dates) have received there biometrics appointment and completed it before I have even gotten a notice for an appointment (my receipt date for my AOS package was August 15th which I only got one NOA receipt which was for my AP, nothing else). I tried calling the Tier 2 officer today and was placed on a 5 hour call back list. Likely I won't be getting called back today so I will call again tomorrow. It has been 62 days since I got my AP receipt notice and haven't heard a single thing for my EAD or AOS. I did get an RFE (that I found out through calling and speaking to a Tier 2 last month) and submitted the proper documents and they received that on September 28.

Having read that a few people got there EAD (and AP) without having a biometrics done raises hope a bit, but not much. I often wonder if I didn't receive a biometrics appointment because I already went through fingerprinting with my work visa back in 2013/2014?

I have a job lined up with a letter of employment offer, I am going to submit that with a USPS expedite service to the lockbox (is that where I send it?).

When I look at my USCIS case status my EAD and AP say "Case Was Received on..." and my AOS said "RFE was received and submitted..."

Does anyone have any input? I know patience is key, but

My Receipt date for I-485 is August 15th, too.

And I did not receive my fingerprint date until last week, and I am still waiting for the letter.

My EAD was approved without having biometrics done.

    Here's what I did:

I knew if it were going to take more than 4week for a biometrics letter, there's a problem.

Waited for 1 month mark, and I called USCIS for SR.

For my first service request, I was told to wait 30 days to receive a response.

I didn't wait for 30 days, waited about 15 days and started calling again.

After twice of talking to tier 2 officer, I was assigned with a date for biometrics.

Also, during the call, I asked about my I-765 and its process.

I am guessing that they took a look at my case just because I called and bothered them.

So All I can suggest is to call as much as you can to make sure they are on your case.

  3. Good Monday Morning.

I checked my status online, my I-765 is approved!! without getting fingerprint done!!!

It was approved on Oct. 14th, last Friday. (68 days since they received I-765)

My Fingerprint is scheduled to be next Tuesday, and still waiting for the letter.

But I am planning to go in sometime this week anyways either with or without the letter.

Does anyone know if it would be okay to go without the letter?

    Hope everyone's process goes smooth.

  4. I'll try to call right now.. shall i just say to the first person who answer my phone tl transfwr me tl tier 2? Sometimes i get lost when they answer and habe their id number or something haha

    Yes.

The first person answered would be tier 1 rep. Tell him/her that you want to talk to tier 2 officer then explain why you need to talk to tier 2.

For example, you were supposed to hear back on this this date, but you didn't so you want to talk to tier 2. Then they will transfer you to tier 2.

But, I am sure you will have to wait for a while to talk to tier 2.

  5. That's actually not true. This process is all about the beneficiary and everything is in their name except the sponsor so it is best if that person just calls themselves, they could actually refuse to give information to any other then the person who is on the papers.

    I second.

There was a person on other forum saying that the petitioner called but USCIS required the applicant to be present.

  6. Congrats and thank you for letting us know!

Can you please share with us your NOA date again? And also the phone call experience? Have you ever made an inquiry with them etc? Thank you!

    Sure!

My first mailed NOA was on August 20th. I didn't hear anything back from then.

So I decided to call them on 15th of September. At the first time, I just spoke to tier 1 representative who set a service request for the fingerprint.

She told me that it would take 15-30 days for them to respond.

I waited until the 30th (15 days after the inquiry), and I called again. But all I was told was to wait until full 30 days.

After 5 days, I tried again and this time I decided to talk to tier 2 officer. Somewhat I was able to talk to tier 2 rep, and he told me I should be getting the answer back in 5 days. I waited until yesterday and still no answer.

So I called again yesterday morning, and finally I was able to hear that my biometric date was set on Oct. 25.

In my opinion, at this point, your NOA date does not matter. You should keep calling and make them to take a look at your case. I'm sure they will help you.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  8. I have not submitted my i-693 and they send me a letter that they didn't not received my i693 but the letter says they will let me know when to submit my i693 and don't send it through mail coz it may cause a delay on my application.

Wndals what is your timeline if you don't mind?

    My timeline is as follows:

    AOS/EAD Sent : August 3rd, 2016

    AOS/EAD Delivered: August 8th, 2016 (Day 0)

    1st NOA1 (e-notification): August 16th, 2016 (Text & e-mail) (Day 8)

    Check Cashed & Website Updated : August 17th, 2016 (Day 9)

    1st NOA1 (Hard Copy): August 20th, 2016 (Day 12)

Ever since the 1st NOA1, it took me forever. But finally I have a confirmed date.

  9. I told them I already made an inquiry and had an referral number. But I haven't heard anything yet. They transferred me to a level 2 officer. Level 2 called me back later on and looked at my case, told me the target date for them to respond is Oct.4th. I said ok, if I don't hear anything I will call back on the 5th. I am pretty sure you probably will hear something this week too.

What do you mean that you "hear back"?

Are they going to call or email you? OR do they mean check your mailbox by 5th?

  10. Yeah. I should have tried again earlier. But lets see. I havent check the mail yet today. I might call them again tomorrow. So whats the referral number for?

They put some type of service request to processing officer once you call them, then they give you this referral number. The referral number is for in case if you don't receive any type of answer in 30days, you call them with that number and they can check on that service request you made.

  11. Short call for me. The lady said I should allow 30 days after I received the actual notices in the mail. I thought it was 30 days after the notice date in the letter. Oh well, she said calll back again on Wednesday so she can make a report about it. But it should be in the mail this week according to her.. i really hope we received it this week.

I called them on 15th. The lady I talked to said it has been 30 days since the notice date. That's why I didn't have problem getting a referral number. I don't understand the lady you talked to. She told you 30 days after you receive the letter? They don't know when you receive a letter, all they know is the receipt date (because it is in the system). So they should base on the receipt date.

I suggest you try again, when you do, just tell them your receipt date on you NOA letter.
