Welcome aboard
One thing that confuses the hell out of me is this 'filing of I-129F anf I-130 at the same time'; how is this even possible if the NOA1 of I-130 application is a prereq to filing I-129F for K3??
I have read about another member who has done this too. Can someone shed some light on this?

Seems like the time to approval of K3 seems to be decreasing as you go down the list. I guess thats a good sign
-
Congrats!
-
This is indeed strange!
Please keep us posted on how this process goes!
-
Yea this is normal. Dont worry.
Congrats on your approval though! Good luck.

I think if the I-130 and I-129F are just submitted, you still have a loooooooooooong time before you need to do anything further.
Please read the following K3 guide carefully for the exact process and the list of steps

No, K3 is a non-immigrant visa. You get the immigrant visa with your I-130/IR1-CR1/LPR process.
I think both your applications made it to the embassy at the same time and they are asking for the immigrant visa fees which will entitle your wife to a LPR status [iR1/CR1/Greencard process] and she will enter US as a legal permanent resident and get a greencard.
If I were you, I'd call the embassy again as ask them what process is currently being processed. Just to be on the safer side.
Good luck!

No, its normal USCIS lingo. No need to freak out and enter panic mode!
Relax, chill, have a beer, wait for 6 months to have the complete process completed. Good luck!

I agree with Canuck Carrie's comments about not being proactive in this case as this will only lead to more confusion and delays.
I have seen instances where the it took over 60 days to get the NOA1. This can happen if the application is forwarded from one service center to another. Wait it out a little longer and see if you get the NOA1.

I havent been touched since the 28th of July. Been recently touched on the k-3 tho...twice woohoooooo...lol
LJ
Must be nice!!!
No touches here on the IR1/CR1 or the K3
.....the status simply says we received your application on blah blah blah and will let you know as soon as it is approved.
Come on USCIS, lets go, lets go, I will pay overtime if you want me to but lets get the some touches already B)

BUMP......
Any approvals???? Anybody?
-
Damn that sucks! That defeats the fundamental purpose of the 'LIFE' act that created the K3 visa in the first place!
Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to schedule a IR1/CR1 interview in Manila?
-
Thank you so much for the reply.
So I wouldn't need to update my G-325a? Won't there then be a mismatch when I send that Affadavit of Support, and they see my current job is not the one listed on the G-325a?
Sorry for being paranoid, but I don't want to do anything that will cause a delay in being with my wife. The process is already wayyyy too long for me to handle!
The Affadavid of Support [AOS] forms that you will send will have the dates for your new job(s) so dont worry about this mismatch. The G-325A that you sent was 'accurate' as of the date you signed it. The AOS forms that you will sign should be accurate on the date you sign and send those to NVC.
Dont over analyze the process.
You are right about one thing
........ the damn process is painfully long.

What did you have for lunch?
I will have it tomorrow and see if that leads to quick approval
Just kidding! Congrats!
-
You can do either of the two. But IR1/CR1 [i-130] is a prereq for K3 [i-129F] so if you apply for K3, you are automatically applying for IR1/CR1.

240 Days!!! Are you sure?
If I were you, I'd call USCIS everyday, call up both the senator's offices, call your congressmen, call Bush at his crawford ranch!!!
-
Goto https://dunsapp.usps.gov/HoldMail.jsp and fill out a form online to hold your mail for upto 30 days! It works, I use it all the time.

I dont think there is any problem in switching jobs while K3 is in progress. Its a normal part of life, people switch jobs, relocate, etc.
As long as you show that you are earning $$$ above the poverty limit, the USCIS/NVC doesnt care if you switch jobs.
I am not sure if you need to resend any G-325 etc. DONT be proactive in this case and submit anything they didnt as for. If they ask for something in the form of a RFE, then send what is needed at that point.
Good luck!

Do it yourself dude. Save yourself a few bucks. Its not too bad.

I-797 is the NOA1 for I-130. Yes this has both the names.
My question is in context to I-797C which is an NOA1 for I-129F [K3]. Does this have the names of both the applicant and the beneficiary???
-
Quick Question. The NOA1 [i-797C] that I received for my K3 application does not state the name of the beneficiary[my wife] anywhere. My name is obviously listed as the applicant.
Just wondering if this was 'normal' or not. Can someone please check their NOA1 for K3 and tell me if this was OK?

This is government agency we are talking about. There is no such word as 'refund' in their dictionary.
-
Damn!
That was quick. I hope mine gets approved as quickly as yours!
-
VJ community probably represents less than 1% of the people who go thru the immigration process so any statistical data/timeline that you get from here or from any other non-governmental website/forums ought to be put into the right context.
