  1. So my I-130 was approved and it has been sent to the NVC and a case number has been assigned................ All that was a month ago. I have yet not received any Choice of Agent form nor the AOS fee bill. The only thing that the NVC automated blah system tells me that a case number has been assigned. I am not sure whats going on anymore. A freggin month has passed without any activity. :o:o:o:angry::angry::angry:

How long does it typically take to get these documents from the NVC???

  2. Yep, I am familiar with James Shortcuts and am surely going to use it. I am going to email the choice of agent form and I have the biographic information form filled and signed by my wife and are ready to go. Just wanted to know when the forms would be 'generated' so that I can kick start the process.

Also another question. Should I now request my company's HR department to send me a proof of employment letter?

  3. I wasnt aware that there is a I-864EZ form also. I guess I am going to use that since its much more simpler and my income is sufficient so I dont have to worry about other assets, etc.

Now to my 2nd question. Once the AOS fee bill is paid, the NVC will send me the AOS form. Do they send the regular I-864 or the I-864EZ? Or can I simply down and fill out the EZ and mail it back to them?

  4. On the I-864 form, Part 7, Question 26c states 'Enter the net cash value of all stock, bonds, certificates of deposit and any other assets'

I was wondering if this includes the assets in the 401k or Roth [retirement] accounts. Logically speaking this money is invested in stocks, bonds and mutual funds so does this count?

What has everyone else done? Input needed here. :help:

  5. Dipen bhai, Jalsa karo!!!

This should not be a problem. She was probably stopped at the port of entry because many people misuse the system and try to find the easy [illegal] route to stay in the US instead of the much harder, longer [legal] process.

I still cant seem to comprehend the 5year wait that you and your wife have been thru!!! I cant even imagine myself going thru that scenario. Hats off to you my friend!

    Good luck!

  6. Yep, a note to all naturalized citizens, the 'A' number stays with you for life. So make sure you enter it in which ever form is asking for it. It is confusing because even though you are a US citizen you are being referenced with an 'A' (Alien) number.

It doesnt make much sense but thats what needs to be done so enter it any/all forms that asks for a A number.
