Yes you can book an appointment. The truth is, if you dont book an appointment on your own. They will believe you dont want to book yet. You might end up waiting precious time. I had to mail the consulate immediately i got reaffirmed, before they updated my profile on their appointment portal.
Well We were canceled by the embassy after the nvc made an visa interview appointment for us , has been having a difficult time scheduling one since September 18 2019 we are unsure if we should pay the fees over again but even if we wanted to there’s no clear instructions on how to do that... please my head will fall off for going in circles!! If anyone knows what we should do please send me a message via inbox...

Normally NVC schedules everything, but with expedites you schedule your own interview.
Not sure if that is true because after nvc sent our reaffirmed petition to the embassy they scheduled our appointment but on September 18 the embassy canceled it and said we have to schedule it ourselves ... we been trying since September and serval times a day and still no appointments available 😩

Please... when is your interview? Because from my husband and his friend was told by the embassy today, that they have canceled all October interviews due to the new online system ... my husband was going to attend October 3 2019 then embassy canceled it and said he needs to go online to schedule another appointment smh😤

Greetings, I see everyone is asking for a reason... sigh this day & age a reason is not needed ... you can be refused on a assumption alone... Anyway I was also in your shoes 2 years ago Our case was sent back in 2016 no reason given orally or written on the 221g form either.I did everything in my power to keep it from going back, I even visited the embassy, reached out to my state representative ( great thing about it ) was we were able to track the case via diplomatic pouch otherwise you guys are have to wait until it’s returned to the usics , they review consular notes.. they will then issues Noird. Sigh it had taken about two years to find out why our petition was sent back ...,All because the officer wanted to know how I could a afford a trip to Africa , few other things that my husband answered in both interviews along with monds of evidence sent to the usics & nvc again it was all based on Assumptions hang in there it’s all worth it in the end.... Love Conquers All🤞🏾🥰

Eloping is fine. But that still needs enough evidence of a bona fide marriage just like any other couple. "Right to elope"
What you believe should be the case is your opinion and fine, but people are still bound by the laws of their society.
Indeed, my husband and I have proven our marriage is real. But, unfortunately, the embassy was unable to issue the visa at the time, (no explanation as to why) has returned our petition for further review.. But now that is on hold due to security checks.... Appreciate the much smoother approach, laws of society is another topic for another day lol

We are discussing immigration to the United States of America. This is not some Utopian world where everything and everyone fits a single mold. Immigration to the United States is NOT a right! It is a privilege! Our laws are in place for a reason. Accept it or move on...
Excuse me but you didn't have to respond at all and could have easily "move on " as you stated!! Frankly, it does apply !! I'm speaking of common law.. Laws of this land which is a birth right, not a " privilege !!! Furthermore I didn't come here to stir up drama,so please keep your opinion to yourself... Please and thank

So wanting to elope is out of the picture when it comes to these "high fraud countries? Since when is eloping consider fraud? Individuals should not be denied the right to elope! In fact, all human beings should be free to travel to and from the land, whenever... Yes the media and government has painted an awful picture of alleged terrorism but again this earth is free for all, us as human beings need to stand in our own individual authority.... Sigh

The only thing you can do is wait, unfortunately. What type of paperwork do you and your spouse have to show legal ties. Are you a beneficiary on any life insurance, pension, etc. Do you own anything together? Join bank accounts. You have to be prepared to rebut the comments from the Embassy based on the time it was put on administrative hold. Please know, the USCIS APPROVED your petition. The embassy has a lot of issues and prejudices, unfortunately. You will receive your visa!!! It is a lengthy process, but you may want to start writing your rebuttal letter now; discuss the interview and if anything was offensive, etc. Discuss your relationship honestly, even if you have to make them blush....Be prepared to send more affidavits from friends, family, co-workers, etc.
You may have a chance if you start complaining now to the embassy, especially since it is still there and won't be sent back for a few months, at the minimum. You and your spouse should send emails and pressure them for another interview or to at least let you know why you were put on Administrative Hold, specifically. Ask to be speak to or email a supervisor, if you can. This is something I did not do, but you definitely should try it.
Stay encouraged!
I promise I did everything but contact the senator's office back in December 2016, when my husband was refused his visa.. At the time I had death on both sides of my family. .all in the same week.. I sent so many emails begging this embassy to reason with our case and review it before sending it back .. Clearly the officer felt away in the first interview that Nov but still told him to come back with what the embassy requested and he did. My things is this, if you had doubt or whatever why you just didn't issue it the first time ... My husband told me before he interviewed him the first time the officer had snatched a paper from him that he received from the previous officer in the process that day, told him you know the rules ..fast forward to the interview 1 my husband said he kept looking at my picture, saying to him so this lady here Shawntina married you? He said yes she is my wife ..he said he answered all the questions and the officer said he did good but didn't see our chat history I sent it to the usisc and the NVC, then my husband brought them it at both interviews but he claimed it wasn't there, to come back in December with it and more proof ..he did but still was not issued a visa or wasn't given the reason for sending it back.. Something is seriously going on with this embassy, Ppl need to voice this to someone because it's just isn't fair how they treat Ppl there. For the most part Ghana has some beautiful loving Ppl but you also have some very rude, down right mean Ppl in Ghana especially at the embassy...

Most people have their FB account set to private (friends only) and are successful with FB evidence. Submitting FB pages does not mean
it must be open to the public so CO's can view it. They could have offered the password, some beneficiaries have been asked
for their passwords which is still crazy but if you want to be approved you just have to consider the consequences.
With Ghana there is really no obvious pattern except so many are returned and age gaps though they receive more scrutinyhave made it through.
Many issues arise from previous applications (B2 for example) of beneficiaries with entered data that does not match
the current applications. Many who have a bona fide relationship, all documents and evidence in order
and have visited often still get returned in Ghana. Why that is nobody knows.
Corruption and no regards for human beings... Insanity at its finest 😑

Spousal visas do not expire. So for the I-130 you are fine, it will not expire but a I-129 fiance petition will be allowed to purposely
expire without review. In some cases USCIS will not send a NOID/NOIR letter for rebuttal to the petitioner and that step is skipped,
they will forward it back to the embassy where they will determine to either hold a second interview or return the petition asecond time. The process is long yes, 18 -24 months.
The best thing is to accept what you can not change, live your lives and visit often. The hard part is not knowing where exactlyexactly your petition is when waiting in queue for the next step and you can contact your senator 3-6 month from now to inquire
if Ghana has returned the case or is still sitting on it and if they have not returned it request that they do return it through the senator's aid.Every 3 months or so during the entire process the senator can check on your case status. They can't over rule it, may in some cases
cause it to be worked on a bit faster but mostly it has no influence except you know where your case is. (Embassy, NVC,USCIS
and back again). The worst you can do is obsess about the time table and get yourself all depressed.
Research and understand the process yourself so you won't be swayed by so and so that this and that....well research it for yourself,
there are many return/reaffirmation threads for reading available. If you know and understand the process it takes awayanxiety of the unknown. Educate and lead others with facts through the process and don't follow any given advice blindly.
Know the facts.
It took us 5 years, about 16 months in AP and a returned K1 to finally be together so I get it how hard it is.
You will survive and hopefully in 1 1/2 year you will be together. Collect every shred of relationship evidence, espseciallyfrom visits and communication for ongoing bona fide proof. Have daily skype cam chats. Stay connected.
Appreciate the info..
However I have been researching and I will continue till it makes sense to me... As far as where our petition is, according to the NVC they received it from the embassy on March 20,2017 , then forwarded it to the USICS on the March 17, 2017 (weird)... I didn't receive any notifications from the NVC I just happened to call on my return trip from Ghana on the 2oth I spent 14 days there... I also visited the embassy, was not allowed in. They said I had to call (I did) , was told I needed to email them (did that too)but as usual no type of response(emailing since Dec 2016). Although I'm unhappy at the outcome of the situation, Im glad to know it at the USICS . Now you stated that they will sometimes skip step in the process, how would you know what to prepare for? I will definitely take your advice and read similar story but I'm also looking for a Ppl with first hand experience. My husband and I did everything right we just don't understand why we were not issued a visa. I can't speak for everyone but who would want to move on with their lives when their life is on the other side of the world.. #noone😢

The woman moving to be with him for over 6 months is a very bad idea because how do the woman prove financial support again we they petition again. That means she is going to be jobless and don't file tax and can't meet the affidavit of support. Visiting for few weeks on 2 or 3 trips will be good. It depends on the CO. Some have their wives visited only one time and yet they got approved. Just stay focus and wait to the documents get back to the uscis then you rebutt with evidence.
I'm trying so hard to stay focused but I keep hearing so much stuff that I don't know what to believe or do. ,I hear the usics could just let it expire and never responded. . I'm hearing that it could be 6 to 18 more months. I wish it was that easy to just go there until it all over but I have small children and I work 2 job here...i swear I don't know why what too do. .this is so painful

Hello every one....
The same thing happened to my husband and I. In Nov 2016 he attended his first interview, everything was fine except he was given a 221g and asked to come back for another interview Dec 20 2016 and bring the requested items which was our chat history 2014-16 the chat history with his brother, any other evidence to support the marriage.. We did.. Fast forward to Dec 20 interview my husband gave everything that was ask to give but was told he couldn't issue a visa, it will be sent back to usics ... I had only visited once since we married and planned to visit more but with the process and work children etc I have to wait for vacation time to do so.. Ghana embassy held our petition for 3 month before sending it back, strongly believe my attempt to visit the embassy in Ghana ion March 9 and a email to them 13 made them move the case on.this process is so unfair
