  1. My wife just sent NVC this e-mail to: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

    with the subject line

Assignment of Agent for NVC #TAIXXXXXXXXX

    Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Mrs Miker, my USCIS number is , my NVC case number is #TAIXXXXXX

Unfortunately I cannot locate my ds-3032, the mail service here in Taiwan sometimes loses important documents. I would like to appoint my

husband as my agent of choice to receive all the correspondence from NVC.

    His name and address is:

    Miker

    address

    phone

    e-mail

I have seen in multiple people's timeline that they email the NVC about their choice of agent. This surely beats sending in the physical form. Whats the NVC email address for accomplishing this task? :help:

    Email address for NVC: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Don't forget to include your case number in the subject line of your email message.

Have you seen the Time Savers thread?

  2. My wife lives in Taiwan and was told by other Taiwanese who have gone through this K and CR process that the interview is sometimes just a quick in and out, here is your visa. I also read that on another immigration website that this has been the case for straighforward applications although I am not sure what that definition would be.

    Who is Powell?

    miker32us,

Can you point out such a case?

A few years ago Powell put out a memo stopping such practice for visa types for which it was bing done - and the K and immigrant visas were not such types even then.

There are cases where embassies are giving the beneficiary the visa without an interview when it is a clear-cut case and the embassy thinks there is no need for an interview and the embassy is backed up with other cases. I think this all up to the embassy. Some interviews are just scheduled so the embassy can present the visa.

    languageladki,

    Approved for what?

If you mean your petition, an interview is not part of the process. If you mean the visa application, an interview is a required part of the process.

(Or perhaps you have been reading posts about adjustment of status and have posted in the wrong forum.)

So I j ust saw that some people are being approved without an interview?

This is possible? Does it happen often?

  4. Congrats to you too!!! I see you got a second IMBRA RFE like I did. Today I got e-mail stating NBC had received my second RFE and was processing it. Last week I received e-mail that NBC had approved my K-3. So I wonder if NBC is processing these 2nd RFE's as if they had not received the 1st RFE and/or already approved the cases.

On the USCIS Cases Status page:

    https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp

My K-3 status showed it was approved on 7/20, now it shows they have received my IMBRA RFE:

On July 25, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

Duh, processing is complete since NBC already approved it!!!!!

I am in the same boat, our I-130 was approved a week before the I129F but I think the I-130 will stay at NVC for 3-4 months before completing there while the K-3 will go through NVC in a week or 2. So even though both aplications are approved I will still use the K-3 to bring my wife here and adjust status here rather than have her wait in Taiwan for the I-130. We may even go back to Taiwan when the CR-1 is ready.

Looking at your time-line you seen to already have the I-130 approved and don't need the K-3

What am I missing here????

  5. Anyone can file a FOIA request to get information from the government but it isnt free and it isnt quick either, I answer lots of them!!!!! You will have to find the USCIS FOIA contact person, perhaps the ombudsman for that office.

Can I file for FOIA if I want to know what files does DHS have on my A-file number?

Does anyone know how I can do this? I need help. Thanks in advance.

  6. That question confused me too because the first part is in BOLD on the form

    22. Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status."[

but the next line is not and a lot of people fail to enter that second line and then have to submit the I-824 to get the application sent to NVC. The second part should contain the place where the US embassy or consulate is located where the NVC will send the visa.

    quote name='Yodrak' date='Jul 21 2006, 03:21 PM' post='323769']

    birdyconfused,

Your husband is not in the USA, so he has no status, so he cannot adjust status.

Enter the consulate where he will apply for his immigrant visa.

(Break the 'N/A habit' - if a question really is N/A (this one is A), enter the reason why.)

    Yodrak

Hopefully last questions and then my petition is ready to go The question may sound a bit silly; but I think it's better to be silly than sorry later.

    Questions C.22 on I-130 says

    ------------------------

    22. Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.

Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at USCIS office in:

City................ State........... If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in

    City.......................... Country................

    -------------------------------------------

My husband is not United States; does this implies that he is not eligible for adjustment of status and I should write where he will apply for visa? or should I put "N/A"

  7. Most people have received an e-mail like the one I got after submitting my first RFE:

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

On July 11, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice that you received from the USCIS.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

I received my first RFE on July 3rd and sent the reply the same day. I received my second RFE on July 17th and sent the reply the same day. Yet I have no notification that either has been received.

Does anyone else have this issue? I'm trying not to worry, but it's getting out of my control.

  8. Yes I posted this before getting the notification that I was approved and determining the duplicate RFE could not have had any effect on the approval.

Is anyone keeping track of the number of duplicate (or more?) RFE's members are receiving?

I read you were approved today!

Congratulations!! No worries for those with duplicate RFEs!

  9. Wow you got approved at a service center and NVC had your case 2 days later? That is lightning fast.

As far as I know know, the things are moving very quickly in NVC for K1 visas and they are not issuing the case numbers anymore or putting us in the database, they just go through it and send it on its way.

    Mike.

I got a case number on mine

The letter was an I-797 from The vermont service center

Gomez what was the wording on your 797 ??

I got the I-797 it said it was being sent to the NVC then I got a letter from the NVC saying it will be processed in a week then forwarded to embassy. The letter also gave me an MNL#. Yhe PDF that was posted on this topic said it was forwarded direcly to the embassy or consulate it looked like it skipped the NVC?

I called both CIS and NVC.

CIS told me that it is sent right to the post (embasy) and that is it...

NVC say it does go to the post and to them.

Post can start processing but will not schedule the interview until the 'administrative processing' is completed at the NVC.

So I will keep callining the 603.334.0700 to check if received.

The number I called for the NVC for a visa specialist was 202.663.1225

    Hope this helps

    John

    Hi All Just contacted NVC

    I GOT MY CASE NUMBER!!!

and they have sent to post!!

  10. Just received e-mail from MSC that our I-129F has been approved!!!! I received the duplicate IMBRA RFE Monday, 6-17 and mailed it snail mail Tuesday, 6-18 so MSC could not have received and processed it by 6-20. This gives everyone hope that MSC is not waiting on the duplicate RFE's to approve these applications.

  11. Nope its still there!!! His post is a bit scanty.

I'm lost. On your profile you have this under "Our Story"

We met through Yahoo chat and I went to visit her there in Christmas 2002. We started the visa journey on Oct. 2003.

I tried to see his timeline and its gone now. Maybe the first relationship didn't work out?

  12. Angel,

She will need to apply for a visitors visa in the PI's not here, she applies at the US embassy and if the PI's are anything like China it will not be easy. She will need proof of ties to the PI, like a good stable job, family, etc. Too many times in the pastpeople have been given tourist visas to the US and stayed and dissappeared from radar. They know better now. Sorry.

Also there is something called visa fraud which is looked upon harshly. If someone comes here as a visitor and their intent is to marry a USC while here they could love their rights to come back for many (10?) years.

    Hello Group People,

I have met this beautiful filipina and I now want to marry her. We are both crazy in love with each other. The long story short is this one. I can only go over to the PI on or about Jan or Feb 2007. I know that we are meant to be with each other and would LOVE to do it quickly already. I called an attorney here and he told me to file for the K1 a month before I go there so by the time I get back here, all I would have to do is send in the photos and such of us two. She suggested to me about a Visitor's Visa. That got me to thinking and would not it be a GREAT idea if she could come here and then I can contact whatever authorities here needed in order to file for marriage while she is HERE?

I hope I have made myself clear enough to you guys here. What I am asking to find out if it is feasible to apply for a visitor's visa for her here, get her here and then apply for a K1? My premilinary thinking would say that with a visitors, should not take as long as the K1. I am planning in calling a Imm. attorney next week to discuss if this is a soluble solution.

    What do you guys/gals think?

    Thanks in advance,

    Angel

  13. I faxed a long letter to my senator this morning complaining about the lack of progress on our K-3 applications and receiving duplicate IMBRA RFE's. I mentioned VisaJourney.com and all the people posting here about receiving the duplicate IMBRA RFE's. I suggested that USCIS was wasting their time and ours with these duplicated RFE's, they have to mail them out and perform data entry on what we send back which adds to their workload. I suggest everyone contact their senator and complain, maybe someone high in the USCIS management will notice if they start getting calls from senators offices. I assume all of our I-129F's are being processed by NBC in Missouri. When their congressional liaison office gets calls and e-mails from these senate or congressional staffers they are required to open a congressional case and expedite if USCIS is found to be in error. Sending out duplicate IMBRA RFE's in my opinion is clear error on USCIS part.

  14. Looking at your timeline I cannot imagine how your I-130 would be processed ahead of your I-129F. Even if the service centers approve both at the same time, your I-130 is going to sit at NVC a lot longer than your I-129F will. I have been caught up in IMBRA and think my I-130 will be completed before my I-129F and we will be so happy if that happens because my wife will arrive in the US with everything completed and behind her and there will be no AOS at our local office.

Hey gang, hope you are all staying encouraged today...the journey has an end!

I wanted to know what happens if the I-130 gets approved before the I-129F ?

Can someone give me a step by step process of how this will proceded.

Anyone who has had this happen and actaully completed the I-130 ahead of the I-129F

Thanks again for all the great information here

    Rob

  15. Received duplicate IMBRA RFE yesterday AFTER MSC sent me e-mail 7/12 advising they had received the 1st one. This second one is an exact duplicate of the first one. In their e-mail they say preliminary processing was being done in the application while waiting for the IMBRA RFE and we can only hope these second RFE's are just a result of computer errors.

  16. Your lawyer probably has a digital sender which can translate any document into a PDF which can then be sent via e-mail. It is very safe and the barcode will look exactly like the original.

rlt - you don't want any more problems or delays. Have your fiance call the lawyer and tell him to overnight the original - you have to send back the original form. (If email copies were ok, USCIS would have sent them to us that way and saved us a lot of trouble!!!)
