Indeed that is normal. My wife's extension expires in a few days but we're going to hold out a bit longer on the stamp route just so we can hold onto the green cards for that exact reason that they take them away.

The CA service center processing timeline looks like got reduced a bit from last time I checked... so we're only about 2 month's out before we can submit the out of processing request.

My husband's extension letter also expires in a few days. Do you know if they're giving out another extension letter?

  2. Hello everyone. Wanted to know from folks in New England/East Coast that have case status stuck in "ready to be scheduled for an interview." Our case has been stuck in "ready to be scheduled for an interview" since March 11th - then covid shut everything down literally a day later (what a luck)!

Does anyone know if field offices in New England are still closed? We live in Boston.

All interviews that were scheduled for April were cancelled. I am guessing that those would be the first interviews after the field offices re-open. Your interview would probably be at least a month after offices re-open, but if you have not also filed your N-400 for citizenship, then there is a chance that you could get approved without an interview. That seems to be happening some recently, probably to help prevent a huge backlog of interviews.

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know. We decided not to file for citizenship yet as we applied for my stepdaughter's immigration/green card (she lives in Brazil currently). We felt like having 3 cases running at the same time would be incredibly overwhelming. My step daughter's case was just approved last week (we applied in October) and now we're on to NVC to schedule her interview. Pretty sure that interview won't be happening until well into the summer.

Do you think things might move faster if we apply for citizenship? We were told an ROC approval would still be needed even if we applied for citizenship.

Yes, that's an original extension letter that can be used for travel 👍

Cool! Thanks! and it's on heavier stock and no where does it say it's a courtesy copy. I am just nervous traveling with a piece of paper and an expired green card. Been reading way too many horror stories of actual citizens being detained for hours as immigration had to check their eligibility at a port of entry. It's just so scary right now.

It looks like that whole region is no longer scheduling infopass. I checked Birmingham, Jacksonville, FL. Those show the same as Atlanta.

Below are the options I get when I put in a Little Rock zip code.

Today we received a reply from our e-request that they'd already mailed our receipt, but are going to mail a duplicate. We'll see.......

The information i was given that Atlanta USCIS  no longer schedule infopass for people who haven't received NOA-1 unless they have travel plans or their jobs are in jeopardy.

I believe in your case, since you have a travel plan already, in worst case they will give you infopass appointment like Rick & Apple got.

Yeah, but I think we're going to wait until we hear something from having filing the e-request before we schedule an infopass appt.

    Yes, it is Texas.

This morning I went online and scheduled an infopass appointment for Memphis. I am hoping that the extension letter will arrive before the appointment on the 26th.
That is the last day my wife has available before her card expires April 1.

I am going to have her call the 800 number and see if she can find out something.

We submitted an e-request Feb. 27. Of course, it said to wait 21 days.

My husband's work isn't in jeapordy as he owns his own company and we don't have plans to travel outside the country until October. His GC expired on 3/10. Do you think we should schedule an infopass appt? I've heard where some offices have kept the GC - I don't want that to happen.

Even longer  here. i thought of sending mail to congressman about it but decided against it because i am not sure if it as serious as other people's issue.

Will file another e request in 2 days and if that doesn't get acted on will email congressman.

Did they give you a reason why your infopass could not be scheduled?

We need to go to a family member's wedding in Brazil in October - I sure hope this gets resolved way before. We would have bought our tickets already, but I don't feel we should until we know we can travel!!

  9. Guys, I have not received my NOA1 and I filed an e-request on Monday. We moved on March 1st and I'm debating changing my address before getting the NOA1 - I'm so afraid it will delay things even more. We own the house we moved out of, and my mother lives there so anything that gets mailed there I will know. Obviously I will submit my new address to the USCIS, but I was hoping to do so after I got the NOA. What do you guys think?

Did you get any response from uscis ? When the checks cash out did doi get the biometrics ? Or something ?

I have gotten two status notifications from USCIS saying my case was received and there's nothing I need to do at this time. However, I am filing a non-delivery notice today as I should have already received the NOA in the mail and I haven't. The cash was checked out of our bank account about two weeks after we submitted everything.

Hello Jan 2019 filers, is there anyone who filed to the lockbox through USPS on Jan 17.

I sent mine with certified and it was available pick up and now USPS says Delivery Attempt: Action Need by Feb 2.

Does anyone having a same issue?

Also sent our on January 17 and it was delivered on Saturday according to USPS. Still nothing from USCIS and I'm starting to worry. Checks haven't been cached either. Most people seem to have had these things happen within 3-5 days. Maybe I haven't received anything because they were closed on MLK Day??

    Hi,

Yes, private info is on top too.

I'm including copy of marriage certificate just in case, i don't know if it is necessary or not.

I don't have all the plane tickets so I'm printing expedia itineraries and passport stamps. I may be sending too many documents...

Cool. Thanks! how do you already have 2018 tax transcripts? We are sending 2016 and 2017.

    Hi guys!

I'm joining this group as we are sending my documents the third week of Jan. I've been working on the cover sheet and these are the documents that will support our case. Any thoughts? We don't have a joint bank account. I attached the document.

    I attached my cover letter.

Thanks and best wished to you all!

Ours is pretty similar to this. We have our information at the very top too (names, alien number, DOB, SSN).

Didn't think marriage certificate was needed. Isn't that already established from when you applied for AOS?

For travel itinerary, are you just using copies or do you have plane tickets? I wonder if it's worth printing our itineraries from Expedia or if it doesn't matter because it's not an official document, like a plane ticket.
