Did you clear your background check? If you haven't then that will be the delay since your EAD can't be approved until your cleared

I called them many times and they never said anything about background check...I guess I will give them a call tomorrow and ask about it. They always refuse to transfer me to Tier 2

I did put the service request for my EAD two weeks ago and nothing happened...Starting to be super frustrated!!! It will be 90 days tomorrow, not sure if calling them helps at all.

Woohoo! I just got my EAD/AP card today (its just one card)

My GC application is still on RFE response received, so no change for a while. But it doesn't really matter too much now since we can basically work and travel. Such a relief!

Yeah I have heard that DC is quite a busy field office... Are you adjusting from a K1 or another type of visa? I have heard that can make a difference as well. Anyway, let's keep each other posted re any developments!

We have the same field office. Honestly hope that the website is not accurate...guess that big city as DC has ton of applications to process and it can take a while

What a timeline! Going smoothly for you which is great. They obviously can speed through some cases when they want to!

I can't check my status too. I'm a bit worried now. I haven't received a biometrics appointment letter yet.

It usually takes around 2-3 weeks to get the biometrics letter after you received NOA1 in the mail. Be patient you will get it soon

Yes and no. I applied online through a form where they were asking stuff like "employer, references etc.". I just wrote N/A because I'm still waiting on my Green Card / EAD. Other than that in the form I also wrote the reason for applying explaining I wasn't allowed to work yet and that I had a lot of time at home that I would like to spend in a more productive way. I was very up front about my current "situation".

After that I was called to a volunteer information night and no questions in regards to my situation was asked. Is there perhaps other places you can apply to volunteer at?

WTH?! Why don't they let you VOLUNTEER without an EAD... burocrats!

Huh? That makes absolutely NO sense - you're not making any money, why would you need the EAD? They must not need the help badly enough then lol. No questions were asked in my case!!

No idea why...Maybe because I came here on tourist visa not K1....Did you have to file some paperwork?

Uhh I wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter here in DC , but they told me I need at least EAD card. Jealous you can do something:D

For the people who just walked in for there bios after they got there appointment date but before the actual appointment. Did you make an info pass appointment for that day? Or did you literally just turn up at the front door asking to get it done? I'm just curious the local office here won't let you in the door unless you have proof of appointment that's why I asked if you done an info pass?
