  1. On the cusp of big change.

I think this phrase best explains how I feel...life is not on hold exactly, but moving forward is not possible because the USCIS has control of when and how future decisions will be made.

My friends laugh and tell me I am nesting. I'm cleaning out the closet and drawers to make space. I'm painting the walls, redecorating from single gal's apartment to OUR apartment. It's the only things I can control at this point. The change is coming and I am sitting on the cusp...anxious for it to move forward and yet waiting...waiting....

I have the best support from friends and family, but it is still great to come here and hear from others who are experiencing the same things. Unless you have done this, there is really no way to understand this process.

  2. Hard to actually believe after (how many days? I lost track):

    TA DA:

This case has been approved. On September 6, 2006, an approval notice was mailed.

Thanks to everyone for all of the continued support and assistance - I would not be in one piece without you guys! Gary you two MUST be next!!!

I will get to work on finding a brand spanking new HAPPY avatar . . . we have a long way to go but at least we can get out of the CSC hellhole soon.

  4. Hi Everyone!!

I just wanted to share that I mailed out the I-129F papers today!!! My fiance and I are really excited. What a relief....

I was nervous but I feel better now.

I also wanted to thank everyone for posting their questions and concerns because it sure has helped us alot. Also, thanks to everyone who has answered my questions in such a short amount of time!!

It's a great feeling getting it in the mail. Hope your journey is smooth!

  5. I have a few friends who have had or are having a difficult time with immigration issues because one member of the relationship is a non USC. With all the other inequities of the law, these couples are hit with another barrier- the inability to sponsor their partners to stay in the US.

Many countries in the world- even those who do not officially recognize same marriage allow nationals to sponsor their smae sex partners.

    It's a shame we don't.
