I'm confused myself...I haven't seen any movement in YSC for almost a month now while other centers like SRC are approving applications filed in Oct 2020

Get settled in for the long haul. They are working on August 2019 right now. On the 30 or so cases right ahead of mine I was seeing movement every week for the past few weeks. Except this week. There's still about half of them left with no decision made in this group.

This is nuts: Potamac IS moving but I have no idea how they're working. My case is still stuck on the same status as over a year ago. Within * 10 case numbers * before AND after me there have been approvals and cards sent out. So close but still so far?!

From my experience, work doesn't advance strictly numerically, but *tends* to hover over a range, which gradually fills in with adjudication as the range advances.

If you have cases close to yours being adjudicated, the worst is probably over, but it could still take some time.

My guess is each person takes a pile.of cases off the top and so the adjudication appear random at the detail level, but make sense when zoomed out to a high level.

Joint property is a very strong piece of evidence.  I would wait until I had closing documents showing both names.......then I would send the package via priority mail to USCIS......as long as they receive it before the expiration date on the card, you are fine........there is no need to rush it now.......

Do NOT send additional evidence....send it all together!!!!!

Thanks. If there's a rejection for any reason, do they allow you to resubmit, even if it's after the expiration date? That's partially why I wanted to allow some extra time, just in case I forget an important signature or make some other boneheaded mistake.

  4. Good Morning,

My spouse's conditional green card expires 8/16, and we will be submitting our I-751 package shortly.  The quandary I'm in is that I put in an offer on a house earlier this month, and unexpectedly beat out multiple bids.  We expect to close on 8/2.

In my haste I just signed the contract in my name only, but expect to add my spouse's name at closing. So I suppose this purchase could only be used as evidence if I wait for the 8/2 closing date. That's cutting it very close to the expiration date.

But if I don't wait and submit earlier, he'll have to submit what I guess would be a suspicious address change right after filing.

Should I wait until 8/2 and include the home purchase? Is it possible to submit everything we have now and submit this evidence shortly thereafter? Would disclosing in our I751 cover letter that we plan to move next month help?

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

  5. Hello all,

We just received an updated status to our I-485 case number, saying "My new card is being produced", and that they ordered the new card.

But we never got an appointment for an interview. Did we skip ahead, or does this mean we'll be getting an appointment in the mail? I heard some people didn't have to go through it in the past, but I thought that was no longer applicable.

Sent the 3 documents they wanted yesterday. Should arrive back at NBC no later than Wednesday. On another note, filed first time taxes with my wife this weekend. Federal and State. Joint Filing. Spouse treated as resident alien for tax purposes.

Does treated as resident alien change the nature of the joint filing? I certainly hope not, since my refund doubled, with the lower margin, and double deductions/exemptions

  7. I will look into that. So youre in Florida as well? Do they require DATA course? Thank you.

Ok thanks. I also have a doubt. Just want to know if anybody had done that coz we dont want to waste time going there for no result.

I think it's required for everyone, but not sure. My husband never had a license, the requirements may be different if you had a license in your country of origin. The DMV officer kept insisting we needed an I-130, which is for the IR-1/CR-1. I had to explain the difference and we just barely got him to the test. Also, he didn't receive a picture ID. He received a piece of paper which they said was the permit, and they said the picture ID had to be processed in Tallahassee, and that we should receive it in the next 60 days. This must be specific to immigrants.

  8. Am I understanding that some people have successfully walked in to the biometrics appointment unscheduled, or otherwise rescheduled it? We got our appointment for 12/21, and of course we will be out of town for the holidays then. There is a checkbox on the notice to reschedule and mail it back to them, but I don't particularly trust that such a request will be processed in time, and the notice says failure to appear will be considered abandonment.

According to the 800 number, the local USCIS doesn't allow walk-ins. Could I at least walk in and request a new appointment? Not sure if I should just change our travel plans, or attempt to get a new appointment. The tone-deafness of this process never ceases to amaze me.

  9. Hello,

Like many, I am having trouble understanding if I need to hold off on sending my spouse's AOS, to print out an I-693 and get him to a civil surgeon.

For starters, I have reviewed: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/, and am unsure whether the required vaccines require dates, or if checkmarks/waiver codes are okay, and IF the latter, is any code okay.

None of the required vaccines in the linked before has any of the date columns filled out, other than Influenza. He had a flu shot on the medical exam back in August. Hepatitis B also has dates. The remaining rows are a mix of checkmarks/waiver codes, and unchecked:

    DT/DTP/DTap--A

    Td--D

    Tdap--A

    OPV--A

    IPV--UNCHECKED

    MMR--D

    Measles--UNCHECKED

    Mumps--UNCHECKED

    Rota Teq--UNCHECKED

    Rotarix--A

    Hepatitis A--A

    Hepatitis B--contains dates from '08-'09

    MCV4--A

    Other MCV conjugate--UNCHECKED

    Varicella Vaccine--UNCHECKED

    Varicella History--VH

    PCV7--UNCHECKED

    PCV10--UNCHECKED

    PCV13--UNCHECKED

    PPSV23--A

The unchecked items seem to be redundant to other checked vaccines, not sure if he'd need any of the measles/mumps/rubella boxes checked so long as MMR is checked, since it contains all three. But some of the waiver codes he got were not mentioned in the above post. I have no idea if any waiver code is acceptable, or if some waiver codes, like the VH, would generate an RFE. VH is not included in the legend on the form, so I have no idea what this means.

Also, in part 2., the doctor checked off "US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (Requesting a Blanket Waiver). One final fun tidbit: page one labels the form as DS-2025, page 2 says DS-3025.

So, I'm not sure whether part 2 overrides those items that were unchecked, or if there's an inappropriate mix of checks/waiver codes, or if he just needs every single vaccine checked off.

Can I send in this vaccination history in lieu of the I-693, or should I fill out the I-693 as indicated in the guides, and have him bring everything to a civil surgeon? Thanks for any help you can provide.
