Hello all - my i-765 was approved (3 wks after my VAWA approval - Amen). Oct 7th the status said "We ordered your new card". Does anyone know how long it takes to come? Also I used a lawyer to file the paperwork -will it go to the lawyer or to my address?

You use the i90 form and there is a pretty steep fee. (around 500$ but you may be able to apply for the fee waiver). It takes a very long time to get a replacement card. From the discussions Ive read recently on VJ it seems to be taking around 9 months!! You can get a 551 stamp from infopass for while you wait. The stamp is also proof of status. But you shouldnt have any issues using the card with the wrong name as long as you have proof of the name change (divorce papers usually cover this) Do your divorce papers state you are going back to your maiden name?

I got my 10 year GC in the mail today!!! Praise the LORD, thank you for all of your prayers and thank you @sandranj for the help and hope you've given to us all.
They did not change my last name to my maiden name like I had requested in my interview (I am not complaining I am grateful I just don't want to be tied to that man).  Has anyone changed their Last name on their GC?  If so what form and how long does it take for them to do it- can I use my existing GC until they send the new one?

You will have this SSN for life. I went to my local social security office after receiving my SSN because I also already had one from previous stays and they said nothing changes and I didn't need to come and to come back when I receive my GC.

Yes whenever there is an update in your information or immigration status you should inform the Social Security Administration. i.e.
1- Once your EAD is issued you receive SSN "for work only" if you already have that on your SSN, I'm not sure what's to be changed, but so call the SSA as it's good to double check just to make sure all is correct.

2- You will need to update again when you become a legal permanent resident in this case they will send you a new card with the same number but no restrictions

Got another rfe to get the gonorrhea test done since the dr didn't complete this in Aug.  Now the status says they've received the info and will be reviewing case again.  Please pray that I get approved- father Lord you know how important this is and how much I've been through.  Pray for me all as I do the same for you all.

Hello all - it has been a while.  Work permit granted and I am working - (grateful and thankful for this).  I did my biometrics in NOV 2016 and NOV 2016 was also when my i485 status changed to this:On November 4, 2016, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number EACXXX, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case.

I made my lawyer call 2 weeks ago and they told him this is normal processing time - is this true?  Am I just being impatient?  i360 was approved but no news on AOS.

Hello VJ members- I wanted to thank Sandra again (God bless you and the work you do for others). While most of us on here get notifications on new posts and wait- here is a prayer for us. I also filed my I-485 today - asking for your prayers that all goes well with my file and the process is fast without delays.
    Dear Jesus,
Our journey through life is long and hard. We cannot make this trip alone; we must walk together on the journey.
You promised to send us a helper, your Spirit. Help us to see your Spirit in those you send to journey with us.
In the refugee family, seeking safety from violence,
    Let us see your Spirit.
In the migrant worker, bringing food to our tables,
    Let us see your Spirit.
In the asylum-seeker, seeking justice for himself and his family,
    Let us see your Spirit.
In the unaccompanied child, traveling in a dangerous world,
    Let us see your Spirit.
Teach us to recognize that as we walk with each other, You are present.
Teach us to welcome not only the strangers in our midst but the gifts they bring as well: the invitation to conversion, communion, and solidarity.
This is the help you have sent: we are not alone.
We are together on the journey, and for this we give you thanks.
    Amen.

Hello everyone just wanted to share the below- it's been very stressful not working - most of us are in the same boat and I thank the Lord for this website because it definitely helps me and gives me hope. Sandra God bless your heart for years and years of providing advice to users.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you".
    (Deuteronomy 31:6)
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".
    (Isaiah 41:10 )
