Hi guys. I need help. Im getting nervous and worried and anxious. 🙁
I got an RFE for a new medical. I did my Medical. And they have found out that I am TB positive. Now I need to see a infectious disease doctor to further look into this before completing my I 693. But my question is, how is it gonna affect my Green Card process? If I ever need to go on a treatment? Would they wait for 9 months till clear before the doctors release my I 693? Is my Greencard gonna be delayed? Or how its gonna go? My RFE deadline is only until next month only.😭

Weren't you given a DS-3025 after your medical overseas?
That's the only "foreign" document civil surgeons will accept to transcribe your vaccinations in part 9 of form I-693.
If you had one and sent it in your AOS Packet without making a copy, you should try to get in touch with the medical facility in the Philippines where you did the medical examination and explain why you need a copy. Hopefully they will help you.
Other options you have (I recommend you speak with your CS about them instead of deciding on your own)
1) get the vaccinations again, if possible (worst case scenario)
2) get immunoglobulin blood tests to measure your level of immunity against all the diseases for which you are required to have a vaccination according to USCIS and CDC
Why are you required to have a full medical again, if you don't mind me asking? Was it more than a year ago?
Hi, thank you for replying. I thought I have made a copy of that DS 3025 but I actually didn't. Yeah, It was over a year already. So I need to redo it. I'm wondering how much would it cost normally for the vaccination to be done again tho.

Hello, I got an RFE and need a new Medical. I have set an appointment to USCIS Civil surgeon, but they said I need to bring my immunzation records.
Which I dont have. I think I didnt make a copy of it when I got them from Philippines Clinic. Now I dont know how am I gonna get a copy of this?
Does anyone here dealt with this kind of stuff before? -
I had my interview today! So the officer seemed new, he was just wearing a poloshirt, and not a formal buttoned longsleeves with tie that I imagined him to be. Lol. Also on the door there was a "" Training" sign. He was fine he was nice, but I got an RFE for medical cause he said the medical i submitted was more than a year FROM THE DATE I ARRIVED here in USA. So I would need a new one.
Secondly, I answered one or two of his question wrong. He asked for the date of my Husband got divorced and the date he last visited. I mixed up the months. Smh. (can this be a ground for denial?). I have submitted everything tho. Bank statements of us, tax returns, insurances. Im just afraid my answers could get us in trouble.
By the way, I am a transgender girl and changed name through marriage. So when he looked at our papers he got confused and scratched his head, and was like "Who is *old name*?" I was like it was my old name. Then he was like "Oh man, your application is a MALE and you showed up like a girl,/you confused me." Then he started to look at our docs and even called someone else to look at our case. Like my gender is a big deal, while eveything on our papers was Male. So I dont see the confusion. Then he started talking about our marriage. Asked if I had surgeries already, and all of a sudden he got curious he even opened up as to how a non op trans make out, like SERIOUSLY?!!
Anyways, He is gonna send me a letter for medical stuff. I just hope I dont get denied. My husband is so worried about my wrong answers on the dates. Lol
Good luck everyone!!!

My I-485 Status has finally changed to INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED! I'm nervous. Any pointers? Things to remember and things to do during interview? What questions are normally being asked? Geez. I just hate interviews in any means. 😂

How long does it normally takes for greencard interview to be scheduled? Or for the green card to arrive, if interview is not necessary?
Just want to know when to expect it.
Thanks Guys.

So we filed on July 7, 2017 for EAD/AP. USCIS received it on July 10, 2017. And the wating started there. my case was sitting on the same status for 80 days. I called the CSR to check on it. And gave me a referrence number. She said they would let the office know that the case is approaching its regulatory timeframe. 14 days after that, i received the approval letter in the mail. Then 2 days after the approval letter. I finally received the Actual Card. I didnt request to expidite just a normal follow up. ☺☺☺

I received an approval notice today in the mail regarding my AP and EAD, 10 days after I filed a service request for follow up to USCIS. Im so happy! Now, we have to wait for the actual document to be sent. I wonder how long does it takes for me to get it?

I just recently called the USCIS CS for my EAD sitting for 75 days without any changes.
The rep just gave me the SR numbers and have been told they would send a request to the office. She told me to wait 15 to 30 days. Its been 15 days now. And I am hoping to hear from them anytime soon.

By marriage you can only change your last name. How did you change your first name? It must be by court and you need the paperwork to prove that change, so take that as well
the biometrics itself only takes a few minutes, you might wait some more if there are more people waiting
In the state where we at, you can legally change your name upon marriage not just the last name.
Thank you so much!!

All you need is your passport and appointment notice. Your husband doesn't have to come, however he should also bring ID if he does since you have to go through security to get into the building!
The appointment should only take 15 minutes
Yay! Thanks!!

The passport is enough if you kept your maiden name. If you changed your name, take your marriage certificate with you as well.
theres no need for your husband to go with you, but he can accompany you
Ohhh. I changed everything. My first middle and last. Thanks for letting me know!!
Do you know how long the process would take?

I have an appointment for biometrics next wednesday. The only ID i have is my Ph Passport. Would that be enough to show?
Also, does my husband needs to be with me in some sort?
Thanks guys.

Hi, Its been 69 days now since I arrived here in US. We get married on May 20. I read that I need to file a SSN within 90 days of arrival. Cause the admissions needs an unexpired I-94 for that. Then I read online that only noncitizens who have permission to work to DHS can apply for SSN. Whic is EAD, I am assuming. Which usually takes 90 days to be approved, in my knowledge. If I need a permission to work before getting a SSN, and getting a SSN requires unexpired I-94, how does this work? I am worried, we only have few weeks now before the I94 expires.
We are just in the process of filing aos now.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, So Im a transwoman, a k1 visa holder and just got married few days ago. We are now in the process filing an AOS but we are thinking of having my gender be changed first before filing AOS.
So Basically, Doctors Consultation and what knot till the Doctor provides a Document for gender change process. should we go this path?
Cause My husband was thinking, If sooner after few years, we will do it, why not now? it can save up some money too.
This can be unusual, but I hope I can find some help. Thanks. -
Ohhh. I see. I am from Iowa. They allowed me to change my first name and put it on the marriage licensed without going to any court hearing etc. so it can be changed when we get our Marriage certificate.
Needless to say. I find your answer helpful. It does make sense now. thanks!!!!

Hi, I would like to ask something here.Im on K1 Visa. Set to fly this coming March 21.
After I get married, how long would it takes for me to be able to get a Job? I don't want to depend on my fiancee's financial state. He''s been spending a lot ever since we started the k1 visa process. I don't want to sit in US and relax while he's working for our future. and Would US recognize my Education background?
looking forward to ear from you guys.Thank you!!
