You've made a lot of plans with assumptions. Nobody can precisely tell you how long this process takes. Any time frame anyone gives you is based on someone's journey with immigration. Wait till you have your husband here before you make big plans. I say wait till he's here because I seen people send back upon arrival at airport too. Good luck and be patient.Hello all,
I'm a bit confused of this whole process.... I have been here often reading but still don't understand things?
For starters, I have filied an i130 and i129f( k3 visa route), received noa1 for both but I'm hearing they're not really processing them ..so my question becomes, do I just cancel the k3 visa n just go with the i130 process? Can I do that? Or do I continue on as I am now? My husband and I are already married but we have made plans to re officiate on August 26 2016 here in the states. .they way the process is looking. I don't he will be here in time for it and I already have my dress. Spent money on invitations and stamps and put a deposit down on a venue, along with a few small things. What should we do???

It happened to me several times. Go in your email and I think there should be a link to reset for new password. Mostly they ask for some security questions I believe. It's nothing to panic about.Got this message while updating my case status:
IP address locked out temporarily because of too many attempts.
I only checked twice -.-
Please help.

It's unfortunate you have to wait this long. Others get lucky and bless to get a fast response. Some waited 9 months to hear from Uscis. Call them and see where you stand but unfortunately there's nothing you can do at this point than to have patience and wait. Good luck.

People with no criminal records gets put in AP. Of course the consulars have to make sure they're not bringing any criminal in this country because I'm sureAmerica has enough criminals already. Just hold one because there are 1000 people who visit that embassy every week same as every other embassy. It will get to your turn. Pray nothing negative comes up during their investigation and your husband will be on his way. Good luck.Still on AP,thanks Ken I hope it'll be faster then that it really sucks like why did the consule officer say it was going to take a week ... I have no other choice but to wait, next Monday it'll be a month , I'll call and send emails... I checked ceac website and it's been updated the date had been changed 3 times from march21 , April 8th and April 12th does that mean anything ?

I can't tell we why they didn't do this or that. If they visa is approved and you have been given a chance to do something before you get your passport in hand, I will advise you do it without questioning them. Anyways congrats to the approval.

Noticed some errors in my replyToo bad but all you have to file for divorce and move on with your life. After divorce is finalized, you're not in any way or form responsible for him.

The visa is for 6Hello my name is mamai YAA . Please I have a few questions and i would appricate any respond I can get.
I and my husband got married in Ghana last year October 2015 . And he has his intrview june 6th at the Ghana embassy . However his father just passed away and the family is planing on a funeral first week of August. So he has to stay back and finish all arrangements with the family before coming . Please my question is how long can one stay in Ghana after receiving the visa. Because I read online that after the CR1 visa we would have to change it into the R1 visa before our 2 year anniversary . So please what if he comes ending of September or a few weeks to our 2 year anniversary. Will it jeopardize the time frame that we have into getting the R1.
Months. He can stay and do whatever he wants before that time comes. Good luck. And for CR to IR others have answered already.

Do not belittle yourself. If you want some sort of education in computer science, do a masters in it. Trust me you don't want to waste any time and money for something small. There are places that can evaluate your degree and mostly you're likely to take GMAT exam because the degree is from another country. DO NOT BELITTLE YOUR DEGREE. Masters might be expensive but it will take and cost almost the same money and time in acquiring associate degree.

I encountered the same thing here as I am also from Ghana. Message me and I can help on what to do.Hello, I obtained a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Ghana like six years ago and have had a very hard time getting a job since( ridiculously high unemployment rate in Ghana). I am wondering if being accepted at a community college for an associate degree in Computer science Information is going to create problems for me on the day of interview.
I understand so many people pursuing an associate degree whilst already having a bachelors degree gets turned down instantly. Is that really the case? What are my chances? Please be straight with me. Thanks.

Those saying immagration will say Relationship /marriage is fraudulent. How is it fraudulent? So much damage has been done with first marriage I will never advise OP to fix that damage. Because he got GC from a US citizen doesn't mean he has to stay with her. OP can move forward with another person. He's not commitment to stay in first damage.it just didn't work which I believe immigration has seen and witness over and over before we were all born. If someone is having my child, at least I can try to consider working it with that person. The law doesn't put limitation on how many times anyone can marry. It's unfortunate OP has to go through this but if you can prove you both are in love then I will say go for it. But please don't rush because marrying certain times do look good. Good luck
-
Just for morals and not immigration stuff, can you just wait to marry her? You don't have to quickly marry her since you even need DNA to prove you're the baby's father. Please do not rush in marrying someone who had an affair with you whiles you were still married. Divorce can be complicated and that can throw you off your time planned. ( wife retaliating and not signing documents quick enough for smooth termination). You do not need to RUSH.

Communication is very vital in bonafide relationship/marriage. How you gonna divorce her without speaking with her first?if it's huge sum of money and you still love her, make a common account and each have their personal bank account. Commons one is for bills and stuff like that. Good luckIm currently in the process of filling my adjustment of status and during the process of co mingling bank account together as part of requirement of bonafied marriage, a funds was sent to my bank account and my spouse took the money without my conscient and denied knowing anything about the money .. i guess with the influence of her sister,
Presently i should be geting my EAD in a week or two more and going for my interview soon ,
Already i felt bad and i dont know if i should wait till when i get my green card approved later and divorce her or confront her for now or seek a marriage counsellors advise regarding this case
as a matter of fact the amount we are talking about is 8000 usd...
the amount alone is quite much for an immigrant who is not working... now she put me on a debt of 8000usd .. and for prove, i have a document from my bank account which showed that she made the withdrawal of the said sum in my our joint account
my other question is that , if i divorce her after getting my green card based on this ground , will it be considered an immigration fraud because she already made me feel bad for her stealing from me in the first place and by her not telling me and denying the fact that she took the money from my account
FYI ... she said the IRS levy my bank account as a result of the amount she owed the IRs.. But i checked and confirmed and the found out that the IRS never took the money ,, even the bank said she was the one who took the money .

Oh yes. I thought pictures and other proof were for interview time not application time. Of course we do have 6 years worth of prove so we're more than prepared. That person must have been a newbie or it could be because you were married for over 2 yrs. I am sure at the interview they will want to see more docs showing the marriage is bonafide. Especially because Ghana embassy is difficult to get approvals.

Go to your birth country and fix the birth certificate and any other document you have that list step mom as biological mother and then file. It's possible if your country will let you do those changes. Good luckHi every one,My friend really need help.(I am writing here what ever he told me)His father has two wives(which is legal in his country),His step mom did not have any children for some medical reason but she used to love kids so she adopted him, they all used to live together in same house,so on his birth certificate and on other legal documents he wrote his step mothers name as mother, his real mom and other family members never had no problem with that.He came in USA 3 years ago and his step mother passed away few months ago due to cancer. Now he is planning to apply for his parents,as his step mother is no more so he wants to add his biological mother on immigration file,is is possible for him to do it or he can not do?
Is there any way he can add his biological mother on immigration file.He is worried any help appreciated.
Thank you

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly but your father needs a police report at the interview. He can be refused for not bringing one or has no better explanation. Try hard and get all the documents for him for his interview. Good luck

I only submitted my application, naturalization certificate, marriage certificate (2years old), passport copy, check and the biographical forms and we were good and application was approved. I didn't submit any pictures or any other prove.
-
We only have wedding photos but thats about it. We have only been married for 2 months and renting an apt at the moment. I hope that photos would be enough.
Also for the application fee, since im not living in the states right now is it possible to ask someone to write a check for me or does it have to be in my name?
Thx for the help!

People will tell you K3 is obsolete. Since it doesn't cost extra for k3, I will say do both. I did both and when my IR1 was approved the closed the K3. So harm or anything caused. I am the type to explore all corners just to be safe. K3 is to allow your partner come here and wait for IR in case there's any delay which I highly doubt because things seem to be moving fast with USCIS now. Good luck on your journey

You buy the money other. Let someone buys he money for you here or check and send it together when submitting the application. So if i choose to pay by money order it doesnt have to be from a US bank? I can just go to a local bank here in hong kong?
-
Too bad. The check and certain documents like marriage certificate, prove of citizenship can't be missed. I will say file new one and don't waste anytime.
-
If he's approved and given a pink slip which I believe is issues for approved applicants, why would you want to complicate things. Anyways if you want I will say get a new one but I hardly doubt they will ask for it.
Filing and paying quarterly taxes as a contractor
in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
Posted
Since you're a private contractor, pay you taxes quarterly, and at the end of the year, they will bring you w2 and you can file together with your husband and that will have both names on it. I'm afraid if you're name is not on his taxes, then you've not been doing it correctly.
