  2. Has anyone served as the interpreter in completing the form? My husband speaks very little English, so I'm pretty much the one filling out the application/translating for him.

In that case, do I fill in the information as being both the interpreter and preparer?

It might be self explanatory, but I just wanted to make sure before I submit the form (plus I want to avoid an RFE.) :(

  3. 1 hour ago, mrskent said:

Look into things like greeting cards you've both received in the mail, to show your relationship but also being at the same address!

I also included gift receipts of large purchases we've made to one another, like rings, watches, tech.

    Thanks! :)

Unfortunately we don't really have greeting cards, maybe one Christmas card addressed to my husband and I (it's in Spanish, so I'll have to get it translated.) I can check if we have receipts of any large purchase...

He has w2's from his previous employments (from temp agencies.) Also his credit card statements, but they're in Spanish (somehow I cannot get them to be in English.)

Our joint/individual bank statements reflect our current address from his arrival in 11/2016 till now. Those docs are the ones taking up the most space 😱 I can't imagine how thick/heavy the final packet will be.

  4. Hello all!!

Our 90 day window is about to come up as well. I am almost done gathering all the documents, and hope to send out the packet by next week *crosses fingers*

I have the following so far:

-Pictures spanning from November 2016 (when my husband came) until now, July 2018.

-Three affidavits (one from my mom, and two of my close friends) they're pending to be notarized... (just in case.)

-Bank Statements (November 2016 through July 2018) for each of our individual accounts (my husband opened his individual bank account in December 2016), and joint account (which we opened in April 2018.)

-Letter from my employer (stating of the benefits that I have with them, and confirming that my spouse is my beneficiary (life insurance, dental/health.)

-Copies of life/accident insurance (some letters are from 2017, some from 2018.)

-Health insurance statements (some from 2017 and 2018)

-Dental insurance letter (with benefit information and lists my husband as part of the plan.)

-Copies of our Drivers' License **we do not have a lease, as we currently live with my mom. However we help to pay the bills (bank statements reflect transfers made to each other.) And the affidavit provided by my mom includes this information.

-Copy of auto insurance information **my mom is also under this insurance, so her name is listed as well.

-Copy of our GYM membership information (joined in June 2017)

-Copy of our plane ticket/hotel reservation (went to NY in July 2017, and to the Dominican Republic in Dec. 2017). Though we booked them separately (don't ask me why -_-) both reflect the same departure/return dates, and our seats are side by side. For the hotel reservation (for when we went to the Dominican Republic) it only has my name, but it was reserved for both of us (listed as 2 adults) Would passport stamps help??

We also have a car, however, at the time we bought it, it was signed under my name. Since my husband did not have a credit, we were advised to not add him. None of the documentation related to it includes his name. We actually split our monthly car payments, and recently decided that he will pay the full amount. He is the one that currently drives it the most (to his job.) I am not sure what can be provided, other than the car payment receipts (and also the bank statements show his transfers made to me.)

In regards to a phone bill, we share the account along with my two brothers and mom as part of a family plan. The main account holder is my brother (who does not live with us.) I am not too sure what to present, unless I can print out our phone call records?

And I am probably missing the cover sheet as well.

    Hopefully I have enough...

Any suggestions as to what else I can add, before I finalize the packet?

    Thanks 🙂

  5. I am not sure I understand you. Your current income is what you will be earning this year. They ask for 2015 and current to see the changes. Often people have the same income as 2015 which is why they ask for last year to confirm that you are earning enough to support. I don't think I explained it better but someone else can.

I am not sure I understand your question about paystub but for AOS you fill out now is different from what it was a year ago because this year you can fill the form on computer and there is a bar code presented there. It is easier to fill on computer than by hand but you can do both ways.

The paystub is not copies but something you get from your company with their letter head or company's information. So technically they are copies. Aos have to be original when you send it to nvc. For embassy I have heard you can take copy. Someone mentioned that here.

If you look at my time line I did my case this year. I filled in August at nvc and I had case complete in 27 days. My interview was scheduled in 10 days almost. I did a lot of research before sending my docs and a lot of information I have shared is from that research. You can find a lot for your specific situation online. Plus I read instructions on aos forms before filing.

I hope this helps from what I understood you were asking.

    it's ok, thanks anyway!!! :)

  6. I believe NVC asks for copies now, not the original ones. check your letter.

So there is no easy answer to this, the best you can find is under embassy reviews. Some CO's will ask and some will not, it all depends. For pakistan, there have been people reporting that they didn't ask for AOS but there were some who did ask. It also depends on whether they loose a document so it is best to take copies of AOS documents. I am for my hubby along with pay stubs and such.

Is his current job above the %125 to support you and him? If yes then you need to provide information about his current job with either pay stubs or employer letter or both to show how his current income is higher than last years or in your case his new job is better and enough for both of you. It doesn't matter if he has worked on 6 months, they are looking for calendar year income information. I had a co-sponsor, meaning i had i864a with me and my brother to show the support I will be getting for my husband and my brother just started his new job this year so I had him produce his paystubs from 4 months to show the current income. It worked. my case was approved and is now at the embassy. also my brother's last 3 years' income was not what the demand is but it doesn't matter since they look mostly into current income.

If your husband is providing for you and sponsoring you alone, it will be best to do i864ez as it is easier to fill out than doing i864.

As of what date will you be doing yours? The current date or as the date it was when it was sent to NVC?

I don't think it really matters since the information hasn't changed (well, at least for the Affidavit), but would you submit your recent paystubs or a copy of the ones sent?

  7. Hey all!!! So the interview is finally next week!!! After waiting for what it seems soooo long :no::no::no::no:

Obviously, I reviewed the Interview letter and items that we need, etc. It said that the financial documents were sent to the embassy. However, I want to play it safe, just in case they're misplaced (who knows, maybe I'm overthinking it too much), but in that case, would you take a copy of the documents sent at that time, or a recently dated Affidavit, paystubs, etc.

This is probably an unnecessary question, but once I'm over there, that's it. I have to be ready. :clock:

Congrats to those who have gotten their dates! :D

And to those still waiting, hang on!!! You're closer than you were before. :dancing:

  8. Yes, he set it up to pick it up from Megacentro in Santo Domingo, he already has his passport today ❤️

    Awesome!!! Omg that's exciting!

Can't wait until my husband and I get to that part!!!

Interview will be in almost a month!!

Now, I'm really wondering what I should do, the interview will be on a Thursday, I don't know if it will be ready by the next day or after that weekend.

Anyway, good luck to both of you!!! <3

  9. My hubby interview was on Monday and I already received the email saying that his passport was ready last night...really quick... this is in Dominican republic though

    Congrats!!! :no::no::no:

Did you set up a place to pick up the passport (Santo Domingo, La Romana, etc)??? Since the embassy is right in Santo Domingo, maybe it'll be ready to pick up right away in the mail center.

I chose to pick up the passport in Santiago, but in the case that it's ready within the next day or 2, i'm wondering how long it would take for them to send it over there...

I just want to be able to pick it up as soon as it's ready!!

  10. This is probably a dumb question, I'm still pending to have an interview date, but I was reviewing the list of documents needed to be brought in. Now, they're asking for the copies of the marriage/birth certificates, affidavit of support, right? We don't have to request new ones? Just use the ones sent to NVC? I don't think the list specifies whether it should be a copy of the document previously sent... It'll be a pain having to request a birth certificate, espcially for myself, since I was born in another country and it'll take about a month to request and get it certified. :/

  11. Hello Everyone,

I called the NVC and was informed of my appointment date.

    Case Complete: 08/25/16

Interview date received over the phone: 09/09/16

    Interview date: 10/27/16

Congrats!! :) :) Omg how you got your interview date so soon?? I think that can take about a week or so for cases in DR.

When I called to confirm if my case was complete, the guy said to wait until I get a letter, obviously I know I can call so that's probably what I'll do and hopefully somehow I have an interview date as well, instead of waiting days/weeks to get a letter.

    Good luck!!!
