  1. no one has found her body............her children are still alive, dealing with this day in and day out. they lost their mom many years ago, and now they lose their 'father' its very sad.

If he killed her - and considering he was convicted it's likely he did - he deserves his fate.

  2. For Heaven's sake. She is being released after just three days. Why do people think celebrities get special treatment?

"Unspecified Medical Reasons". Yes, she probably had someone's genitalia stuck in her body.

I'm betting on drug withdrawal. Probably needs her coke fix. What a waste of space she is. I'd love to see Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan in a pick ax fight to the death.

  3. i am about to finish printing my emails and it is sooo thick. i know that emails are very important evidences but do i need to bring this very thick emails??? i would appreciate it if you guys could give me some advice regarding this.

GOD bless us all in this journey!!!!

As Sheriff Uling said, you should have just a few samples to provide the pre-screener. We had a bunch of pictures, email, chat, SMS, letters, cards, etc and the pre-screener only wanted a sample of them. We had to do the sorting when we were standing there. I can tell you from experience it's a lot easier to have the samples selected in advance than doing it when you're in front of the window. ;)

In my case, we don't email much. we are more on the phone (phone cards). How can I establish an continuing relationship? FYI. We have been in communication for 3 years prior to marriage.

Pictures are important. Also hand written letters, chat logs, SMS logs, cards, and phone logs if you can do that.

  4. Meh. I don't think a convicted murderer deserves compassion reserved for fellow decent humans. In fact, the life of every murder in the world isn't worth a single day of my cat's life and I would have no problem pulling the trigger, throwing the switch, etc. There's a reason death row inmates are sentenced to die. They committed an atrocious act on someone and they deserve death.

Pulling the trigger or throwing the switch would make you a murderer too.

Therefore, by the same rationale, your own life wouldn't be worth your cat's weight in fur.

Obviously our views on capitol punishment differ. I don't consider it to be murder. Let me ask you this, if killing another human is murder then is the cop who kills a criminal murder? Is it murder when a soldier kills another solider? What about civilians killed by collateral damage? What about the homeowner defending himself against an attacker?

They are probably no worst or any more sick that the people that kill cows, pigs, and chickens at the slaughterhouse 8 - 12 hours a day and 5 to 7 days a week.

I truly don't understand how one can compare executing a human being with killing an animal for food, regardless of what that human has done.

Then again, I could never be an executioner, and I suppose that's why.

I'll have to just agree to disagree. I feel the opposite. I believe that's against the natural order of things. Committing a heinous crime should be punished, but it does not cancel out one's humanity, neither can it cancel out one's good deeds in their lifetime. Animals are not capable of good or evil.

I'll agree to disagree also. For example, IMO a man who kidnaps, rapes, and murders a child is no longer deserving human compassion. I don't care who they are or what they've done in the past. They should be given the maximum sentence including execution if it's legal.

Edit: For the inmates who had 'bad' executions... Where's that little fiddle? Ah, I can't find it. Call the Waaaaambulance.

And how many people on death row were exonerated?

Regardless of that, I think that murder should be punished, yes, but not by murder. That's like saying it's ok to torture a POW because...well, they're the enemy. We supposedly uphold such things as the Geneva Convention treaties or the UN Declaration of Human Rights, yet we think that the death penalty is ok. Hell, even Germany abolished the death penalty in the 40s.

    mho....

Well in MHO capitol punishment is not murder. I do not condone torture of POW's but I don't see the connection either.

  6. Congrats! It's so great once you're finally together!

She's flying through Tokyo? Sorry. I did not like that airport. It's big and confusing and warm. My flight from Tokyo to Manila was almost an hour late and the people at the gate were clueless. They did announcements in Japanese and Japanenglish (impossible to hear/understand) despite the fact that 99% of the passengers were Filipino and American. Our return flight from Tokyo to New Jersey was also delayed - not something you want when it's your POE. I'll be avoiding Tokyo on future flights at all costs.

  7. i forgot,,,, asking if how long is the seminar would last? just 2 and half hrs give or take, so if you're taking it in the PRISM (taft ave) you could run to quirino manila to get a certificate before they closes at 5pm. then when you have the visa already, you just have to get back and tell you've paid (dont lose the receipt) show them the receipt and the certificate then wait for your name to be called again. most likely an hr or so depending on the crowd

She will take it in Cebu. Will she be able to get everything there as well as in Manila? I hate for her to go to Cebu then find out for some strange reason again that she has to go to Manila to get the Cert. or sticker. It seems like there are so many variables with going through the K1 visa process. Every time you turn the corner there is another missed step or something that wasn't mentioned. Grrrrrrr.

    Thanks,

    charlie

I've seen other posts saying - like the seminar - the CFO sticker can be done in either Manila or Cebu.

  8. That reminds me of the interface in the movie "Minority Report" Cool stuff.

That was a little more futuristic. In that other movie The Island - they had something that was virtually identical to what's shown in the video. I wondered if perhaps they had access to one of the early prototypes

A bit OT but the movie 'The Island' was one I picked up on a whim and it turned out to be much better than expected. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen it.

  9. My husband had something similar happen. He started to receive these messages on his phone and no he had not subscribed to them. He received this bill for all of these text messages (he doesn't even use text messaging), plus downloads of rings and a few other things - none of which he had requested or used except he did keep getting these annoying text messages. He called the company and they were not very co-operative until he told them he was then cancelling his account with them, paying the penalty as it would be less hassle and cheaper than the annoyance from these messages, and opening an account with one of their competitors. Their tune changed quickly - they agreed to 'cancel' the account and remove the charges from his bill. When we reviewed the 'bill' we realized that the charges started after he had talked to one of their sales people regarding putting another phone on the same account for his mother to use on the family plan. We expect what happened is that one of their sales people was more ambitious than honest and in addition to adding the family plan name and phone added in all of these extra charges as well, hoping to get a better commission.

I agree here. Tell them if they're not going to work with you that you'll drop their service and move to another carrier. Oh, and stick to it. Even with an early disconnect fee you don't lose much considering every provider offers a new phone at a highly discounted price for new signups (with another commitment of course). I just signed my wife up with Cingular and she got the BlackJack for $50 ($150 out-of-pocket minus a $100 rebate). That phone is going for ~ $300 on Ebay right now.

  10. My fiance took her CFO seminar in Cebu and she has the documentation proving that. Does anyone know if she can get her sticker in Manila after she receives her visa? I sure hope she doesn't have to go back to Cebu but it would really suprise me if she did!

    Thanks for any replies!

    Kevin

i think ive heard a couple of girls did that and they have it stamped in manila. let your fiancee call the CFO office in quirino (manila) to make sure

I concur with RonMay. Since your beloved has the G&C Certificate, it theoretically/logically should not matter which CFO location applies the "sticker" to her passport/visa. However, you should call the CFO in Manila to verify. We all know that logic and theory are sometimes out the window when it comes to some policies, procedures, or practices.

Sheriff, so what is the corect procedure? Can the fiance take the seminar before getting her visa? My fiance MJ has her passport already so if she took this seminar to get it out of the way what would she do then? Neither of us have the patience for this, hahahaha. This is truly a test of patience to say the least and something that I hope I never have to repeat in this life time again.

    How long is the seminar?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

Yes, she can take the CFO seminar early. I don't know the expiration on the seminar but I know taking it early is okay. I think Lina did it about 2 months prior to her interview. It's a good idea to get it out of the way early so after the visa arrives all you need to do is get the CFO sticker. Good luck!

Edit: Hopefully someone else can answer how long the seminar is. I know getting the CFO sticker took about 30-45 minutes and we got there right after they opened but there was 15-20 people ahead of us.

  11. I think you need a copy of the 'hard copy' of the I-197C approval notice (NOA2) for the Adjustment of Status process.

A month is a long time. Our hard copy arrived in the mail less than a week after the approval. In our case I didn't even know our I-130 was approved until I got the hard copy. I never got an Email and our status today still says it's pending.

  12.:star::yes::luv::luv: I got a text message from delbros this afternoon, my visa will be delivered tomorrow up to the next 2 days

The past few days i was freaking out thinking i might be on AR...

    now is a yehey

Thank you Visa Journey and my Manila Thread family...mwahhhh...

    Congratulations to Orion

Good Luck to Mae, kaya mo yan

    God Bless.

    -seshi

Congrats! :) We went through the same thing because of the unknown. They will not say you're approved but they don't say you're on AR either - you're left in limbo. IMO you never know you're approved until the USE releases the visa to Delbros. If you're in the Metro Manila area your visa should be delivered tomorrow. Check your status online and it's probably going to be out for delivery tomorrow. Be sure to be home so you can sign for it. :)

  13. man what converter do u use lol? my converter is fine! and free!

The one I use is proprietary. Which one do you do use?

BTW - had the same problem with DVD-ripping software. Works ok on the PC - but the sound gets ahead of the picture on a regular DVD player.

DVD Decryptor or AnyDVD to rip then DVD Shrink to compress/edit/burn works for me on standard DVD's (DVD9). I haven't tried ripping an HD-DVD yet.

I wouldn't even attempt that - my DVD player is first generation. Can only record single layer.

I haven't done any dual layer burns either. To me the media is still too expensive and most movies fit on a single layer disc with no or little compression. I was referring to ripping an HD-DVD to the hard drive. I know it's possible but I don't have the capability to stream it to my HDTV and AFAIK there's no HD-DVD burners out yet but I could be wrong.
