Hi guys!thanks for the help ? I actually got the interview schedule for october this week. Maybe i'm just being too anxious to know everything, like knowing where my physical file is and at the same time just too excited to get this over and done with ? Btw, i checked ceac and it's already in transit, then i also tried tracking thru DHL and it showed 7 packages bound to Manila will arrive on Friday (sept. 16). So i'm crossing my fingers,my file is one of them.??
Since your case status is already "in transit" I'm sure it'll get there soon. You just have to be patient... you're almost at the end of the journey

Hi! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials! You can find the information you're looking for here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/IR1_and_CR1_Immigrant_Visas#Beneficiary.E2.80.99s_.28Foreign_Spouse.29Documents:

As JFH has already stated, DCF is not available for Hong Kong. If you currently reside in Hong Kong, perhaps their US embassy website can provide some helpful information for you: https://hongkong.usconsulate.gov/iv_spouse.html

Since it has been 6 weeks since you submitted your documents, I suggest you call NVC and ask them what the status of your case is.
-
You can either call NVC and ask them if they have already sent your case to Manila, or check on the CEAC website: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Default.aspx?App=IV
If your status says "in transit" it means that your case has already been sent; "ready" means it's already there. NVC usually doesn't send out your case until about 4wks before your scheduled interview.

I received a text message telling me my case was updated; and when I checked it on the USCIS website, it said that my case was approved
Hope you get your NOA2 soon! Goodluck!

The nvc said its okay. And all of a sudden i received a call. But the lady on the phone called me again and asks for few documents and said she will contact me again by end of the day or tomorrow. So lets see what happens. Please pray for me guys
How inconvenient that they notify you about this less than a week before your interview... anyway, I hope everything works out for you!
hey guys wanted to ask
once the visa is approved how do you get it do they ask you or how does that work
I'm not sure if there's anything specific for your embassy, but usually they ask where you would want your visa to be sent.
Perhaps this link can help you: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ba/niv/information/courier

Oh no! So you're not a Canadian citizen? How is it that no one has caught this until now?

Hi JG & Teddy! Nothing new to report on my end; still waiting for time to pass. My husband's sputum culture is on its 4th week and no calls yet
These last few weeks of waiting have been agonizing... I'm looking forward to November since that is the estimated time my husband will come here, if all goes well of course. I have actually already scheduled his interview for October 24th; I really wanted to make sure he would get interviewed before the holiday in the Philippines (Oct.31-Nov. 2). Hopefully he can be here around election day.
JG, you should take your time with sending the documents. Things go pretty quickly once your case is completed, which is why if you need more time or need to delay anything the best time to do it would be in the NVC stage, before sending out the papers.

I agree with TabeaK, you probably won't have any issues as long as you remember your limits.
The CR-1 visa can be attained in 8-9mon assuming there are no setbacks or delays (e.g. RFEs, checklists). But it can take up to a year or even longer. You will have to be interviewed in Montreal; there is no other way around it. You will also need to have your medical exam done there in Canada by an authorized physician, and not in the US.

The only way you can find out the earliest available date would be to log in to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph and schedule an interview, or call the embassy.

You can fill out the online registration for SLEC here: http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/
SLEC works on a first come, first serve basis so no appointment is necessary.
You can schedule your interview here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph
You can find out more information about the K1 process here: http://dennyeyberg.wixsite.com/filipino-am-visa
Goodluck!

Thank you for the response. I already paid the AOS fee but the payment is still in process and i should wait 2 to three days before it can be seen? is it ok to send the receipt while it is still processing? thank you
I would suggest waiting until your AOS fee appears as PAID before sending your documents. It only takes a day or two anyway. While waiting, you can gather and organize your documents and triple check everything to make sure you did not miss anything. Or you can find a sample of the DS-260 and familiarize yourself with the questions that will be asked.

Thanks for your reply.
I just received a PM from a member here who received his NOA2 on same day as i did and just got his case number today! Congrats to them!
Could i safely assume that i will be getting my case number in the next coming days?
His was same embassy and details as mine.
Yes, I think you can expect to have a case number this week if that's the case. I would call everyday until you get one hehe.
-
Yes a week Now
Unfortunately, according to the NVC, cases put under Supervisor review can take up to an additional "42 days" to review. Have you tried asking to speak to an actual Supervisor when you call NVC? If they reach the 42 day mark again it's best to get your senator involved... but until then, the only thing you can really do is wait.
Ooooohhh, got it!
Thanks!
You're very welcome!

Hi there! After paying the AOS fee, you can go ahead and send your AOS & IV documents to save time. I also suggest calling NVC and reviewing your DS-261 so that you can have the IV fee unlocked. Once the IV fee shows "PAID" you can unlock and fill out the DS-260.
-
yes i have.
Did they tell you anything? Has your case been put on Supervisor review?
-
We got our NOA2 quickly. It took only 6 weeks.
My question is, and if you can shed some light here then thank you in advance, does the USCIS mail the approved petitions in batches? or individually?
Reason why I'm asking is i read somewhere that the petitions are sent in batches from the USCIS. Perhaps this is not true. But if true, may delay things in the case of a quickly approved NOA2?
Thank you and Good Luck to all of us.
USCIS sends the approved petitions in batches. NVC says it can take up to 6wks for them to receive and assign your petition a case number, but many people here on VJ would suggest calling NVC at least once a week for the status of your case. Just be patient; it'll get there eventually
-
Its has been 49 days from my check list scan date and still no CC, when do you think ill get one?
Oh my, 49 days? Have you called NVC and asked for the status of your case? Tell them you've been waiting for over the 6wk time period.
-
Even though my case is complete and I have an interview date, whenever I check the status on the ceac.state.gov website, it still says "At NVC".
Am I the only one??
I thought that it would keep updating, but I'm not sure....
NVC usually doesn't send your case file to the embassy until 4wks before your interview. You'll know they sent it when you check on the CEAC case tracker and it says "in transit."
-
I just called nvc and I found out that they scheduled for my husband's interview on last Friday. The interview is for Oct 31 at islamabad embassy in pakistan.
Here is my question, when should I call to confirm that they have sent my package to the embassy and when should I expect the email? Does anyone know what they do now?
They told me that they generate emails on Friday and that it takes a week to get the email.
I will call Friday if I don't get the email.
To determine if NVC has sent your case to the embassy, you can use the CEAC website (https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx). When it says that your case status is "in transit" it means that your case is on its way; when it says "ready" it means that it has arrived at your embassy. You can check it daily. But if you'd prefer to really stay on top of things, you can call NVC to know exactly when they send it.
-
okay, so basically just send a photocopy of the birth certificate with the aos form to the nvc? and the origial then wont be requested at the interview ..?
(although other originals are needed..)
That's correct
The only original documents that need to be brought to the interview are the beneficiary's civil documents (e.g. birth certificate, police clearance, etc.)

Is this form available on internet ...can you send me the link ?
You can find the i-864 form here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864
IR2 & IR5- NVC Stage/Medical/Interview
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
1.) You will need the ff:
- Letter of Authorization or Special power of attorney stating that the companion is authorized to sign on behalf of the parent
- 2 photocopies of the Parent's government issued ID
- Authorized companion's government issued ID, original and 2 photocopies
2.) Unless your mom needs special care that she cannot walk or fill out documents by herself, SLEC usually does not allow anyone to accompany their patients. They can try to talk to the guard and see if they will allow it, but most of the time they don't.
3.) During the interview, the embassy will offer an interpreter if needed. So when asked if she needs one, your mother can simply say yes.
