Hi JG long time no hear, my case is still stuck on review. nvc has slowed down with their processing of our petitions at least 6 weeks to review nowadays. Use the address from the bar-code cover sheet and don't hold your breath hoping to get done in a hurry. Nvc is roadblock city coming up with all kinds of excuses to slow you down
Check all of your documents 3x to make sure you don't want to make a mistake
Hi xmaricrix how are you doing good I hope
Hi teddy! I've been reading a lot of negative comments about NVC lately and how slowly they have been reviewing cases. I wonder what the heck is going on
That makes it even more important to re-check your documents multiple times JG before you send them out; getting a checklist seems to be a bigger nightmare now than it has been in the past.

Hy guys. Any updates on your cases? Here is my update. I will have enough money to pay all the fees tomorrow when I get paid. I will be mailing out all the paperwork right away. I am wondering should I mail it to the address on the letter I got from NVC or the one listed on their website? Also how long does it take for the DS260 to be available after I pay the fees? My next step will be getting my wife to gather all the paperwork for the interview and saving for medical exam fees (which I understand have gone up).
Hi JG! Good to have an update on your cases... you should send your packages to the address on the coversheet. The DS-260 will be available once the IV fee appears as PAID, so usually within 2-4 days. And yes, unfortunately, the medical fees have increased due to additional testing for gonorrhea; however, it is only for those who are 15 years-old and older, so those younger than that will have the same amount as before.
My husband is already on his 7th week of sputum culture and no phone call yet (thank God). My husband was told not to contact SLEC about results until the 19th but since his 8th week will be next week my husband plans on contacting them either the 13th or 14th, and hopefully his results will be ready. I have already jumped the gun and scheduled his interview for the 24th, so my anxiety and excitement is building as the days wind down til then.

Yes, I know that cyberfx1024. That's why I asked if she can schedule her medical exam 3 weeks prior(before) her interview date?
Yes, she can have her medical 3 weeks before her interview. SLEC works on a first come, first serve basis; appointments cannot be made. Your fiance will simply go to SLEC with her printed registration form and other required documents on the day of her choice.

I stand corrected
I am just on a roll with being wrong today
Again, I am sorry to OP for giving out incorrect advice.

Much appreciated. You've been helpful. We'll start looking into that.
You're very welcome! I definitely would advise your dad beginning his Naturalization process since he has been here in the US for 5yrs already. If he starts it soon you can be here within the next 2yrs... that's a whole lot better than waiting another 6-7yrs hehe.
-
That's what everyone has been telling me lol. Unfortunately, that's not what the girls like to hear haha.
One last question, So my dad has been a greencard holder for the last 5yrs.if he applies for citizenship how long does that take and how long does it take to get me?
Basing off of the timelines here on VJ, the naturalization process can take 4-6mon, assuming everything goes smoothly. When your dad becomes a citizen, you will be bumped up to IR2 category, so you can get your visa in a year.
-
That's what I suspected. Thanks. After seeing the "follow the 6 steps" ordeal I thought it was some kind of a sign that I would he pushed up in line hehe. Just wanted to make sure.
I apologize for the confusion earlier. I hope you don't plan on getting married in the next 6-7yrs; otherwise you might actually get bumped down the list
Or perhaps your dad can just become a citizen, and then you can get bumped up! Haha.
-
MrsBurgz is correct... silly me, I forgot you were F2B category.
You won't be able to access anything until your priority date becomes current; and only then will NVC tell you to proceed with your case. The current PD for the Philippines is Jan2006, and with your PD of 2012 you still have a long way to go.
-
When did you receive your case number and IIN? Did you get them over the phone or in a "Welcome" email from NVC?
-
So I'm under an F2B immigrant visa petition and been waiting where my dad who is a greencard holder(worked for government) filed for me in 2012 .i recently checked my status and it says "At nvc" and to follow the 6 steps in the link. So I try to open the link to choose an agent, enter my info and it says that "access isn't available for further processing".
Is this just normal & usually says this stuff, and I'm still gonna be waiting til target date 2022?or is this something that tells me that I'm near? I'm a bit confused. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Were you given a case number and invoice ID number? You probably just went to the wrong website... Maybe this is what you were looking for: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx
-
Thank you very much. VERY helpful information for sure. That was what I was wondering. So now that I have the MNL number, my part is done than? I have nothing left to do for the USA side until she actually gets here? That was what I was confused about. Now it makes sense
Thank you.
Well essentially yes. It's now up to your fiance to finish up the process
Don't forget to send your i-134 and financial documents though as they might be needed for the interview. Just follow the steps in that website and you should be fine. Good luck!

Thanks. I thought nvc was the quicker part of the process lol guess i was wrong
For most people it usually is quicker than the USCIS part... checklists are the ones that slow you down. But on the bright side, you will be together for the new year (assuming there won't be any more bumps in the road hehe)

Had a question. Can I pay the greencard fee from India?
Yes, I'm pretty sure you can pay the $165 from India since the payment is made online anyway
Ok so i called NVC to ask how long after case complete before we get an interview date. The guy says usually takes 60 days to get a date then 4 weeks to interview . That doesnt sound right at all. Any insight to this?
Well, usually you just have to wait until the end of the month because that's when NVC begins scheduling for interviews. Some may even get their interview date earlier or later, depending on the country & number of openings the consulate gives the NVC.

Im sorry and just a newbie here. I'll update my timeline for people to understand my situation . But I have a friend who is also a permanent resident in the us and he petitioned his wife then after 2 months they receive a letter of approval.
Some people get their i-130 petition approved faster than others; it really depends on which service center your case is being processed at. Some get approved as fast as 30 days, while others wait more than 5 months. Just be patient and your time will come... besides, you still have quite a long wait ahead of you for a visa. Even though your friend got his petition approved quickly, he will still have to wait almost 2yrs for a visa to be available for his wife... and the same will be for you because your husband is just a permanent resident.

and what about my finance certaficat or the bank certaficat do i have to take it with me ?
Well, unless you and your fiance are planning on using your finances as part of the i-134 (Affidavit of Support), I don't think you will need your financial/bank certificates for the interview.
-
You're very welcome! That's what this forum is for
-
Oh I see... well I guess you need to speak to your attorney and ask about those documents and forms so that you can get your visa process moving.
-
You should fill out the DS-160 form soon. Has your fiance sent you the i-134 form, in addition to her IRS tax transcripts, W2, 1040 forms? You will need those for your interview. I don't think you will need to print out all your pictures together; just pick out a few that show the progression of your relationship. You can also bring the newspaper article she wrote about your relationship, in addition to what I said earlier (e.g. emails, chat logs, travel documents).
-
I m also waiting for iv fee to get unlocked. Dont know how long its gonna take:(
Have you called NVC to review your DS-261? Once that is reviewed, it usually takes less than 48hrs to unlock the IV fee.
-
yes she did and then they answer her back with a notice approve from the NVC and few weeks ago othey send her an email and told her that i cant start the process for my interview and when im ready i can pay the fees to get an appointment
Oh so you're already pretty far in the process already! Have you filled out the DS-160? You should pay the fees, get your medical done, and schedule your interview
-
Has your fiance filed the i-129F yet? She should send pictures of the two of you together and with your family, emails/chat logs between the two of you, and even her boarding passes from visiting you along with the i-129F.
To help you and your fiance with the K1 visa process, you can read the guides here:

Please let me know if you find information regarding IAD POE. We are going to arrive at IAD as well early November if everything goes fine.
Thank You.
Where can I find the reviews of the POE's, we are likely to enter at Dulles IAD airport end of this month.
Reviews for IAD can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Washington+DC&dfilter=0

Your denials for a tourist visa shouldn't cause a problem with applying for a K1 visa; but when you are asked if you have been denied a visa before, you MUST be truthful and say that you have been denied a tourist visa twice. If you aren't honest about it, only then would it cause a problem and a possible denial. As long as you have lots of solid evidence of a bona fide relationship you shouldn't have anything to worry about
Good luck!

That's horrible... I say you keep calling them every day until they give you your CC. This is just ridiculous how long you've been waiting for them to review your additional documents.
