  1. Hi! Your questions about fees and the i-864 can be found on the NVC website (as someone has already stated). The timeline in NVC depends on you and how quickly you can pay the fees and send the documents. You can look at my timeline or signature as a guide :)

For the question on the DS-260 about TB, you just answer truthfully; your wife has never been diagnosed with TB, but has been exposed to someone who does. Most people from the Philippines will always have a positive skin test because of the BCG vaccine that they received as infants (I'm one of them), so it shouldn't be a problem. As long as your wife's x-ray is clear, that's all that matters ;) And for the addresses, just try to at least remember the street name and city, and guesstimate the time spent there; I didn't bother to put house numbers because my husband just couldn't remember them all, and I still got my CC. So just do the best you can with whatever she can remember.

    Goodluck!

  2. I'm a CR-1 and i booked my own interview even though NVC scheduled me an interview. It was OK with the Manila Embassy

The difference is that you already had an interview date scheduled by NVC, meaning your case was already completed. The OP is still in the NVC stage, and does not have a CC yet, so yes, he kind of got a little ahead of himself because he is still not sure if a checklist will be given (hopefully not though).

Just hope for the best! Goodluck! :)

  3. I'm just really nervous because I've read many stories about NVC losing paperwork so they send checklists for them, thus extending the process even longer, even though it was their own fault to begin with. This whole immigration process is definitely not for the faint of heart...

  4. its been 10 days since nvc got my aos and iv packet. i know its too early to call so when is the best time to check the progress of my case?

and also what browser do you use to check your case at ceac? i use google chrome and mozzila. it won't let me sign in even if i put the right security character..

    thank you

I would wait until after 30 days to call NVC about your case; I don't think calling is going to make the process any faster, but at the same time it won't hurt either. So really it's up to you. ;) I just check the CEAC website daily.

The browser I use is Safari, and the CEAC website works perfectly fine for me. Are you sure you're putting in the correct case number and IIN?

  5. Hi , we're asking about the papers required from the beneficiary for the NVC , we want to know if they need a military certificate and also should we send them the original Arabic and the English copies from the papaers or only tye English once ?

Hi! Just wanted to add a supplement to what Teddy K has already said: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

  6. Thank you so much! That clears things up so much ha ha!

Can we email those to them? Seems like people dealing with Montreal, Canada embassy can select to do it that way.

I'm just asking because our postal service is going on strike (terrible timing!)

Yes, you can send your documents electronically :)

  7. And the I-864s? Will those show up? I see N/A on the site now, even after paying the AOS fees, but I have the forms filled out in hand with the IRS tax documents too. Should those just be e-mailed with the receipt payment (barcode doc)?

They seemed to stress the fact they all wanted it in ONE submission, but if I fill the DS-260 online, then it doesn't make sense.

Sometimes the agents are a little confusing on the phone ha ha.

The DS-260 is done online on the CEAC website; it is separate from the actual AOS & IV package that you will send to NVC. You can e-mail the i-864 form to NVC along with the tax documents, civil documents & coversheet with the barcode :)

  8. I got the email from the nvc. They send me the case no. And IIN no.

That's great! You should fill out your DS-261 and AOS fee now... unfortunately it's the weekend so you will have to wait until Monday to call NVC to review your DS-261, but at least now you can get the ball rolling :)

  9. thanks alot for your reply my scan date is june 17 waiting is hard but where we have started its good where we are now ???? hope is that something happens next week that I get CC but the 17 falls o a sunday which is again waiting for the monday

The 9th falls on a Saturday, so I'll probably be waiting until Monday as well. It's so close! I really hope I get the CC and not a checklist...
