  1. Sorry I've been busy with a new job and have been unable to post. Whatever you do, don't even think about giving up. I have resigned myself to the fact that this is going to be a long drawn out process. I don't like it, but it is a sad reality. When I started this process, I thought that Yang bo would be with me for the xmas holidays. Obviously I will be please if it happens, but I just feel that March or April is more realistic. Hang in there! This forum affords you a great support mechanism. We are all going through the same thing.

    Take care

  2. I have an intersesting question. Are the expenses relating to either your fiance (K1) or spouse (k3) tax deductible ie: air fare, immigrations lawyers fees, money that one might send to spouse or fiance while he or she is still overseas, etc? :P;)

  3. So far I have paid $170.00 for the I-129F. I sent Yang Bo $300.00 to cover the cost of securing her passport, birth certificate, her divorce decree with translation, etc. I expect to pay for her medical exam and cost for interview (probably $100.00). Airline ticket will probably run about $1,000.00. And the list goes on. Once she arrives we are going to work on her daughters paperwork which is going to be an additional expense. I don't mind the cost and I am loving every minute of it.

    Good luck

  4. Just started my new job on Monday (July 3rd). I also received my NOA1 on Monday. I submited my package to TSC but received my NOA1 from CSC. I have two questions.

    1. What is the best way to notify these clowns that I have changed jobs? Is there a form that I need to fill out?

    2. Do I notify TSC or CSC?

  5. I would most definately see an immigration lawyer. I have a case dismissal (deffered adudication) for a misdomeanor offense 3 years ago. Although the case was dismissed and there is no conviction, when I get the REF, I will see my immigration lawyer and see what he has to say. It is my impression that if you met your fiance via an IMB before this law came into effect, then the consulate/embassy will decide if they will inform your finace relative to any past offenses. If my lawyer advises me to say yes to the question of convictions, then I will simply tell my fiance and have done with it.

    Good luck to you

  6. "Hi! Just got this response from Cherry Blossoms

While we do not consider our company a marriage agency because we do not charge the women nor do we charge couples that end up marrying that meet on our web site. But our government has written a very broad definition of Marriage Broker so we will leave it up to you what to fill in.

Not sure if it hinders your petition to state that you used a marriage broker or not.

Sorry for the ambiguity but this law is an odd item. If you say you did not use a marriage broker you should let your Fiancée know so that at her interview she does not mention Cherry Blossoms.

USCIS's Definition of International Marriage Broker

"international marriage broker" which means: a corporation, business, individual, or other legal entity, whether or not organized under any law of the United States, that charges fees for providing dating, matrimonial, matchmaking services, or social referrals between United States citizens or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States as lawful Permanent residents and foreign national clients by providing contact information or otherwise facilitating communication between individuals.

    Thank you,"

I guess it's up to me to decide how to answer once I get the REF

  7. Not really sure the Philippines Marriage Broker and hadn't heard anything about it prior to this. I'm really only able to deal with one IMBRA at a time LOL!
Yup, it really is alot of information to deal with. I just have been curious how applications will be handled if one states they have met through a marriage broker in a country where they are illegal. I guess we will all find out in a few months..heheheh.

Yes we will, as far as I know the Phillipines Goverment has no part in a K-1 application. And I imagine that their idea of a marriage broker is probably much different than the US definition. Do you have any more information on this Philippines law?

I can tell you one thing about the Philippines. The petitioner (K1 Visa) must attend classes (CFO) where they pretty much trash American Men and try and talk the petitioner out of the marriage. The petitioner must have her passport stamped by the CFO before she is permitted to leave the country.

  8. One of the other members had suggested that when may check was cashed that I check online and view the back of the check for the case number. Smart move! I got the case number and then went to the USCIS website. I was able to open and account which will enable be to view the status of my case and receive email updates from USCIS. Probably old news to you vets but I was rather proud of myself for discovering this on my own. Now I am debating with myself because I am trying to decide if I should arm my sweatheart with this information. :P

  9. Just checked my account online and noted that my check was finally cashed. Hooray! Never have I been so happy to have someone take my money. TSC received my petition along with my check on June 13th. I expect that I will receive my NOA1 shortly. I guess my package has been sent to CSC and I will also receive an RFE.

  10. Yep! I can relate to your situation. Sent my package June 10th and they received June 13th. I just checked my account online and they still have not cashed my check. I know that TSC probably sent my paperwork to CSC. I have resigned myself to the fact that this is going to take longer than I expected. I spoke with my fiance last night and she is looking forward to spending the Xmas holidays with me. At this rate, I don't think that is going to happen but I don't want to burst her bubble. I've already decided that if this thing drags on I will just have to get on a plane and spend some time with my lady in China. I just get the feeling that people who get here illegally get treated with more respect that those of us who are trying to do things the right way. Let's just try and hang in there. As much as they try and complicate this thing, they will never discourage me from doing what needs to be done.:whistle:
