We just got the NOA2 hard copy, didn't know we would get one of those too.

The NOA2 average is biased downward. Maybe I could correspond with Visajourney about techniques to remove this bias.

Hey stephadams, I can so relate to how you feel right now !!! I have accepted it is not how long but how well . The process is long winded, frustrating to say the least , however take comfort in knowing that at the end of this process you and your love one will be together and the distance will be a thing of the past . Cheer up, there is a blinding light at the end of the tunnel . Pray we all get our much awaited approvals this week .?

I just wanted to say that we are finally APPROVED we are so happy......not sure what next, I will have to do research now as to what to do next. after 72 days, we got it though!!!!

Ours was received Jan 19.... You're a bit behind. Be a little more patient it will happen!!! I don't think any of us got notified even with notifications turned on on our online accounts... Just keep checking your status!! Should b any day now!!

We have our case number!!
The case invoice number acts as your password the case number acts as your username.

They estimate in here is only built on those who fill in their timelines and also not everybody does it correct. Right now it's about 50 days to get NOA2 from NOA1 BUT some get it a bit faster and others have to wait much longer. I have seen people in January there have been waiting between 50-80 days before they have either got RFE or their NOA2.

We got approved 73 days after NOA1. No RFE's. What happens during the process is a bit of a mystery that trying to rationalize only seems to cause more worry and more confusion...at least in our case.

Well the guidelines say they have 5 months to process your application and so you are still in that window. As far as the lawyer is concerned, I'd take him out back and let see the stars if you know what I mean. I hate scamming lawyers.

Here's an actual letter with pertinent info left out. Which is actually good: You want to be proactive and attached the waiver request as part of the initial I-129F filing, thereby, avoiding delays. If it is originally left out you will surely received an RFE. Good luck!

They have five months to complete the processing of your initial application before they will ever take an inquiry from you. You state you are only two months into this. Calling is only going to get you the same answer as the one I just gave. Have some patience or you are going to have a nervous breakdown. Just relax.
Every case is different. Yours seem to need more vetting then others and others need more vetting then yours. Just how things work.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy Canada.
Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Canada. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Canada and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience.

Get the Canadian K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.
Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.
