no problem! If they do let you know what the problem is let me know, as we have just started the wait for them to review our submitted docs.

I was able to speak to an NVC agent and she told me to go back to my CEAC account and delete the uploaded docs and resubmit. She explained for some reason the docs never got to their end and that's the reason they only showed "UPLOADED". I remember hitting the "Submit Documents" red tab but not sure why they didn't upload, perhaps something odd with my internet connection, I don't know. So I just signed back on and did exactly as I was told and uploaded and submitted the docs again. It now shows "SUBMITTED" (as yours) so the waiting continues. Thanks for bringing up that point of yours saying "SUBMITTED", I would had never know the difference. I'll keep you updated as soon as I know anything new. Good luck with your case!

When I log in to the website for ours it reads 'Submitted' not uploaded. Did you submit the changed documents after you uploaded them?

Yes, I did submit the updated docs after uploading them. If I remember correctly, they all said "UPLOADED" first, then changed to "ACCEPTED" (with a green checkmark right beside it), after they got reviewed 1-2 days later. Just now I tried to resubmit them, but that is not an option any longer, so I'm stock.

  3. My I-130 case is currently stock at CEAC. All the requested forms and documents were uploaded almost 9 weeks ago DEC3. A couple of weeks later, 3 documents were rejected. I corrected and uploaded the rejected docs (Petitioner W2 Form, + Beneficiary's Birth Certificate and Certificate of Translation) on JAN3. The documents are showing "UPLOADED" on CEAC website since. Is anyone else experiencing similar delays? Should I contact NVC, and what's the best way for this? Thank you in advance.

I believe the case is already closed as soon as the k1 visa was used. He doesn't have to do anything.

Thanks for your input. He's aware the visa is no longer since it was a 1 entry deal. He just don't want to leave things unresolved and that USCIS or Dept of State gives him issues for not informing them. Do you know if he will have any problems later on if he decides to petition again?

  5. My best friend petitioned for his fiancée on a K-1 Visa. The petition was approved and a Fiancée visa was issued in Bogota, Colombia. His fiancée arrived to the US and they both had intentions of marrying within 90 days of her arrival. However, the relationship went sour and they decided to amicable part ways and put an end to the relationship, therefore, they decided of not getting married. After 2 months of she being in the States, the (now ex-fiancée), voluntarily returned to her hometown Colombia. What does my friend need to do in order to "close the case"? Will his chances of petitioning later again for a new fiancée be hindered?

What do you do with the affidavit support? Do you simply print the copy of the submitted one or bring them the new affidavit support. Also, I owe IRS $320 back taxes.(2016) Will it be a problem while being petitioner? I know, it is problem if you are applying for citizenship? My processing filling times are now, March 17 as of January 2018. My interview date is coming soon. :)

We didn't bring an Affidavit to the interview, nor one's required. If you feel better, you can either bring a copy of the old one or do a new one if your financial situation has change substantially. We weren't ask about the Affidavit during our interview and we got approved. As far as your IRS debt, I think it's a very small amount and should not be an issue. I'll be a bit concerned if you haven't make some type of payments arrangements but even though, I don't feel the small debt should pose a problem. Best of luck at your interview.

So here's what the USCIS says regarding the medical examination and gonorrhea testing on Civil Surgeons: How to Report Gonorrhea Screening Results on Form I-693:

So, the way I understand it, K1/3 filers should be fine and won't need the test either way? Am I just reading this completely wrong?
P.s.: I know not everyone on here is a K-1/3 filer, I'm just trying to understand what the heck is up with those medicals...

If your medical abroad is within a year of your application for AOS, then gonorrhea testing is not required. That being said, some Civil Surgeons will try to include the test with the vaccines and charge you more. This was our experience and we had to show the doc the policy so we didn't get charge for the unnecessary test. We didn't have any issues during AOS

You wont know until you mail it and they send you the acceptance notice and tell you where they routed it.

Thanks for the reply EandH0904. Do you happen to know if there's a choice when the beneficiary is not in the US to do AOS when they get here or they need to do the Residency process at the overseas post? Also, if they are getting their green card overseas, is there an additional fee on top of the current I-130 $535 filing fee? Thanks for your help.

Congratulations ! Lucky you! I am a June filer and our office's processing time has been updated backward Jan. :(

Did you make any service request for i-485? Would you mind sharing your interviewed questions? Many thanks!

Thanks! We are May10 filers and did not made a SR for the I-485 part, but did (at 90 days) for WP and AP, which took about 6 months for card to arrive. At the interview, the officer welcomed us into his office, made us swear under oath, took a pic and fingerprinted my wife (beneficiary), and then asked us if we had any documents to turn in, which we did. The questions the officer asked us were name, address, which POI used, and all of the yes/no Part 8 questions of the I-485 we had already answered during application. He basically took out our I-485 application from the thick file he had on his desk on us and went down the list and checked them off one by one. That was it! We left extremely surprised with how easy the interview went, and how nice and cordial the interviewer officer treated us. He even apologized for our wait outside in the lobby, which wasn't at all long, we were called in into office like 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Without any doubt, this was the most pleasant and unstressful experience we had have with USCIS as of yet.

Hope your interview gets scheduled soon and that it goes as smooth. Good luck.

  10. We had our AOS interview today in Orlando and went extremely well. The officer was super nice and polite and made us feel completely at ease. The interview only lasted about 15 minutes and although it was not approved on the spot, the officer said everything looked good and we should be getting the Residence card in a couple of weeks. He said he didn't see any issues with the application, had everything needed and was approving it at his level but it had to be revised and final approved by his supervisor. The officer did not ask us any "tricky" or odd questions, basically personal stuff and double checked everything we had put down on the I485. The interview was a complete breeze, quick and uneventful.

Did you make any SR? any movement?

Lucky you! I know a few Feb and March filers have not received any interview notice yet even they're out of processing time. Did you make any SR or Infopass? Please share, thanks. Waiting for your good news.

Actually no for the I-485. We did 2 SR for work permit/adv parole, one online and the second one calling in. The petition for my wife has been approved since, but we're still waiting on the approval of the daughter's petitions.

It was on the list of required documents and not included in the "unless already submitted" category, so we brought the original and a copy.  They didn't take the copy and they just flipped through our folder of original documents, so I'm not sure if there would have been a problem if we didn't have it.

When in doubt, we just brought whatever we could.  Better to have too much than not enough.

Thanks for the reply. We are having a little bit of trouble securing the birth certificate, we mailed the original with the petition and hopefully, they should have it in the file. Was wondering how strict they are when one isn't available, we are trying to get another one sent from her native country and hoping  gets here on time for our end of month interview. We are really hoping this does not create an issue and additional delay.

  13. Yay! Just received the AOS interview letter in the mail, its scheduled for Jan 28 in Orlando. For those that already had their interviews, do we need to bring the Birth Certificate for the beneficiary to the interview even though one was submitted with the I-485 application? The NOA letter says to bring the medical/vaccines Form I-693 and Affidavit of Support Form I-864 UNLESS ALREADY SUBMITTED, but how about the Birth Certificate?
