My wife and I already married and submitted everything to the courthouse today, so it's official. Is it a good idea or a bad idea to go to Social Security and simply lie that we ever married? I wasn't aware that we should have done SS first. Anyone else ever do that?
Don't lie unless you have to.

Um..now I am really lost.
You are not alone darlin'
I am explaining one of the previous post above ... “Emo also advocates lying about when people proposed, when they met etc etc - at least I've seen that in the AOS forum. I wouldn't trust anything. :x “
I suggested "he didn't proposed after the trip to Europe? think again"
to the post
"Hi everyone,
Strangely, this never occured to me until I read another post here a couple of days ago. Therefore, my possible fraud was very unintentional. Not that this makes it any better. I came here on a F1 visa 3 1/2 years ago to go to grad school, although I already knew my now husband (USC) at that point. I went to school and graduated in February 2006, and in August 2006 my husband surprisingly . We got married at the end of September and filed for AOS. So far so good. However, in August, after getting engaged, we also took a together. We came back, and I entered on my F1 visa as I always have done, without giving it any thought. Was this fraudulent, since I knew we were getting married about a month later? If so, is it forgivable? Darn, I feel like I messed up now! Any advise or opinions appreciated - thanks in advance!"

I don’t understand why some people believe that behaving like prosecutors will help their immigration process

Emo, what are you trying to show us? It's not readable.
the form that No Panel Physician selected by a consulate will sign
But then again. The vaccination supplement that is showed above has NOTHING to do with the six weeks until AOS approval. Just because I send it in doesn't expedite the AOS process. It will save you time and money by eliminating the need after your arrival in US to deal with the Civil Surgeon.
This will not affect the time you are going to wait for your AOS approval.
-
But isn't that form to be completed and signed by a Civil Surgeon in the US, not a Panel Physician abroad?
But then again, when you get your medical exam done outside the US, its at a place designated by the uscis, so why wouldn't that be ok?
Your medical is done at a place chosen by the consulate and consulates are under the juris of the State Department.
USCIS does not process visas. The State Department does.
Both are under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security.
There are very few documents or procedures that either uses or do that the other will accept.
The PDF linked by the OP is a USCIS form. No Panel Physician selected by a consulate will sign it as they are not a USCIS designated Civil Surgeon .
Really?

Bring this form http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/appdx-a_693vacc.pdf on you medical exam abroad to be completed and signed by the doctor.
After your marriage in USA send it with AOS documents.
This will save you time and some $.
Our AOS was approved in 6 weeks
Good luck

We have applied for the K-1 visa. We are now waiting of the interview date. Our question is we have heard that you can recieve an immediate work authorization if you go through JFK port of entry. Can anyone tell us how this works?

According to https://s044a90.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/36f...b4?OpenDocument, section C.1, it appears Natalia is temporarily as a K-1 visa holder with a valid I-94, which she will have. This employment authorization is implicit without an Employment Authorization stamp. However, the same document, in section C.2, seems to say that Natalia does require a valid EAD if she is an applicant for adjustment of status. This is confusing to me. Does this mean that she can work on her K-1, but only until we make application for AOS? It seems so, but I want to get your opinion.
She is authorized to work and she doesn't have to bring up "the 90 days limitation"

I have a passport, with K-1 Visa in it.
can I go to Guam, or is that considered leaving the USA?
Do not exit continental US before you get your green card or AP.

Everything else is paranoia and ignorance.
Regarding I-765 is waste of money
It just warms the cockles of my heart to see such informative and well thought out advice dispensed in such a warm and congenial manner.
Ah, the arrogance of the truly ignorant!
It’s OK to feel angry after doing something stupid.
I am sorry for all of you who quit your job after 90 days with temp. EAD and AOS pending.
I'm not the stupid one here.
Firstly, I'm the USC.
Secondly, my immigrant husband never had a temp EAD - meaning he never had a job to quit prior to the pendancy of his AOS.
I'd hardly call if paranoid to file for the appropriate documents the government has put in place - I'd call it more like being proactive on one's own behalf.
I call it ignorance to suggest otherwise. And downright irresponsible on a public forum.
I didn’t say you are stupid. How could I, but even smart people (regardless of their citizenship) sometimes are doing stupid things, such as assuming that K1 Fiance with I-94 is not allowed to work.

I wouldn't say EAD is a waste of money, I would have lost my job for 3 months without it.
Did the employers asked for it?
-
To those concerned about it, note that the reason I am even posting here is because of the ambiguity (to my perception), and the growing realization that that my understandings would appear to have been wrong.
And re the "4 month" comment? Take it in context. It was said from the perspective of "Okay, so I've been working for 2 1/2 months on the basis of x (where x is admittedly what I am querying, as I believe my initial interpretation was incorrect, now) and according to that I /would/ have been required to leave a job, and wait".
As is exactly what I have read has happened to people who were employment authorized over the initial 90 days, prompting frantic letters from employers requesting expedited processing, etc.
So at least realize I am trying to clarify the legality of what I'm doing, not "HAHA! LOOK AT ME, I DON'T NEED NO STINKING EAD!"
As dr_Iha said earlier:
"Regardless of whether the OP is working illegally or not, the fact is that USCIS doesn't care about it, they legally cannot hold it against him when adjudicating his AOS, so there is no consequence to him of just keeping his job while AOS is pending.
Also the requirement to check if the employee is authorized to work is the employers responsibility, not the employees. So the worst case scenario is that the OP's employer gets prosecuted for employing him. That said the chances of that happening are probably close to that of winning the lottery, as the current government doesn't consider enforcement of employment law when it comes to illegal workers a priority. "
Everything else is paranoia and ignorance.

Hi people, haven't started this whole process yet, but trying to figure things out.... when i am approved the k-1 visa and i go over to the states to be with my girlfriend is it possible for us to get married in another country? or will they not allow me back into the US without some sort of other visa after we're married?
Thanks in advance for any help, it's appreciated.
Check with the US consulate regarding DCF. The process varies from country to country.

Hello everyone who is been waiting for the Green Card...I'd like to share my story...
Back in Oct 12th 2006 i had my interview for AOS. After 5mins interview the lady said: you are approved, your card should arrive in the mail in 3-4 weeks, and she took all my original AP and Employment Card. I happily went home, bought a ticket to fly to my home country to see my family in december. But I never made the trip! I called them every single day and nobody replied to my messages. I tried to go to an infopass appointment and the roads were too icy back in November and I did not go.
It was January and the card never arrived! After reading all the threads in this site I convinced myself that my green card was pending because of the FBI name check.
Getting anxious with this cold weather and wanting to see my family, not to mention get my driver's license and not been able to prove my status in this country, I decided to get an Infopass appointment.
Yesterday, Jan 16th, I went back to the immigration office, and spoke directly to the person who interview me last time. She literally said: I forgot this document for you to sign and she handed me a piece of paper where I singed my name -while she openned my file- and right before my eyes, all my documents were still sitting there!!!!!!!! Then she said, she had not approved my case back then because she forgot that form!!!!!!!!!!! Right there she stamped my passport so I can travel now, and told me once again, smiling, that my green card should be in the mail in 3-4 weeks.
Another lessson learned: every case is unique!.. and always ask! Infopass appointments are good!
Good luck everyone, hope this time I do get my card... at least I got the stamp on the passport and that's all I care about right now! *SMILE*
Did you asked for I-551 stamp on the first interview?
