  1. USCIS and the Department of State (NVC) are two separate divisions. USCIS is only responsible for approving your petition and the documents you sent with it. If you want email correspondence then you need to call and provide that information to NVC after they confirm they have received your petition.

Yes, I called them quite frequently and anyone else that has gone through this stage will tell you the same. Trust me when I say If you want things to keep moving for your case in the NVC stage, then I and everyone else on this forum will advise you to be proactive and call them.

As Keas mentioned, the link has all the information you need. From personal experience calling in the evening time (USA evening time) has nicer Representatives that answer the phones than those in the day time.

    Good luck on your journey.

yes Keas! listen to her. From May 5th to today i have done all the steps and am just waiting for them to cc... The advice I got from this forum was straight on and invaluable.
  2. Hi Bostorican,

When you go on your Ceac login when you look at where it says Affidavit of Support Fee right now it might show as PAID right? well usually when that changes from paid to N/A you have a clear indication that your Case has been completed. That's why when we all celebrate the N/As is because we basically can assume that it means case complete. Then we all call to make sure this isn't just some sick joke haha They always confirm that your case has been complete. :)

Oh ok. got it.. Thank you Angela. Felicidades.

  3. Potomac is fairly new. I believe about 9 months old. I was approved on April 21, 2016. My NOA was Jan 28, 2016.. some people have had quick approvals and others not. Im USC and my wife is Brazilian also. you should join the Potomac forum for a better understanding how Potomac is

    .Good Luck

  4. IV won't be invoiced until you complete the DS-261 and get that reviewed. Maybe you just forgot to mention it on your list of what you've completed already but if you haven't completed it yet, complete that and then call NVC and ask them to review it with you over the phone. It will save you weeks of waiting for them to do it on their own. Once they review it, you'll see the IV invoice within 24 hours.

oops your correct I forgot DS-261 was done on may 3rd.

Thanks for the heads up LinJoe will call them Monday.

  5. Thanks a lot! Then we only need 1-4, the paperwork is all in English or German (official language where I will have my interview). And there really shouldn't be anything on my police certificate, so I'm good. Thanks for reassuring me, dwheels!

From what I understand, you need a translation of everything that is neither in English nor in the official language of the country where you will have your interview. The police certificate is the one exception to the rule: You need a translation to English if there is anything on it.

    .

Ok. Thanks the wifes certificate says nothing found (thank God..?) and the language is portuguese official languange of Brazil. So I should be good sending in as is.

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much.

  7. Hello all.

This site is full of a lot of helpful information. I would like to ask a couple of questions. I want to petition for my 2 stepdaughters. Im USC.

    as for fees:

    420 x 2 I-130

    325 x 2 IR2

    120 x 1 AoS

    165 x 2 green card fee

    is this correct?

Also upon time of interview would both the Mother and myself need to go to the interview?

The girls are 19 yrs old and 18yrs old. will they still be considered children for the visa process? eligible for IR2?

I appreciate any positive input. I have read around the site Im just putting my case out here to get your experienced answer. Thank You.
