Does anyone know if we will be able to get a passport stamp? There's a lot of people whose status will expire and they need a passport stamp to renew license/ show to employer they're still legal here.
-
So is anyone else not in the same situation?
-
I'm curious what happens if our extension letter and our status expires in 2 months and uscis is still closed, will they allow us to get a passport stamp or will they bring a rule that extends all extension letters from 18months to longer?
Does anyone know?

@justwaiting2018 Thank you. My online account through "myaccount.uscis.gov" indicates that my case was received. No further updates after that. My online account through "egov.uscis.gov" indicates that my case was transferred in October 2019, but it does not say where. I received a notice back then that my case was transferred to Potomac. My online account started showing a "last update date" as of 2/24/2020, however, when I click on it, it shows the same message that it's been showing since October 2019. USCIS automated service, reports that my case is in Lee Summit, MO. I spoke with a customer service rep today and told me that my case is in Potomac.
Therefore, one system shows that my case was received (nothing more), another system shows a transfer without saying where, a third system shows a transfer to Lee Summit, MO and a fourth system shows a transfer to Potomac 😂🤣 I love USCIS!!
Regarding your case, most probably you're looking at a combo N-400/I-751 interview. If you file for N-400 while your I-751 is still pending, the system automatically pulls your I-751 and sends it to NBC (USCIS procedure/policy as it can be seen in the adjudicator's manual) where from there, it will be sent to your local office for an interview to be scheduled. However, I have heard of one or two cases where this did not happen (system glitch I presume).
@TheKingmaker EAC = 322
@asls Thanks. Does it recognize it online but not over the phone? If that is the case, which of the two websites are you using?
Both websites show the same. Just a waiting game really. Every single case around my case nr has been approved.

How do you type in EAC into the number pad when calling the USCIS contact center?
You type the number from keypad. I think it's 322.
I tried mine, but the phone system says it can't recognize it but online it does.

Some are not i751. I forgot to include that. Most of them though had some action taken.
-
Out of 100 cases around my number, all of them have had some action taken either: approved/denied/moved to a different office, rfe, interview, etc. Only mine and one more case have been stuck at fingerprint r complete.
This is EAC.

Just to add ,check ur n400 paper form as i found few instances where information did not translate from online to paper form good.

Guys, on the n400 online application i think they ask if our parents are us citizens. I selected no.
Then they ask if your parents were married before your 18th bday i chose yes. And i chose no that they are not citizens.
However, on the print of the n400, in the process of it being converted, i noticed it says "if neither of your parents are us citizens then skip this part " then there's a question below it
Have your parents been married before your 18th bday? I answered yes and no to if they are us citizens.
Also,a section "current spouse's previous legal name" got filled with my wife's first name.
Is this normal ? I only filled her last name under other names used as maiden last name
-
A month or two before I sent my i751 application, i was joined into a local union, but did not list it due to forgetting about it. I had to join it so i wasnt pleased.
Should I call USCIS and can they update it for me?
I know i can update during my interview, but i may not have one and get a chance to correct it.
I will be listing this on my n400 application though.

Oh they're proposing way worse for the N-400 than the other forms. The proposal is for an 83% increase to $1,170!
This seems meant to deter residents converting to citizens.
When is this going to take effect? Is it just a proposal for now ? How long it takes them to put it in effect?

Some doomsayers be blabbing all sorts of negative craps as if they will be the interviewing officer
mchewwwwww
Seriously, while this website is very good, i realized that every little thing is turned into a doomsday post apocalypse scenario by some people. Like USCIS is on a witch hunt for every little thing.
Congratulations to your friend.

I'm guessing the "normal" eligibility to apply for naturalization is 5 years of residence. The 3 year eligibility due to being married to a US citizen is a special case. The form will not change once your window opens, it will always ask for 5 years of history. Why don't you just put in 5 years worth of information on residence and employment? If you don't have 5 years of history, it is what it is, you cannot change the past. Put whatever you have in.
Also, based on a previous case I've read, I recommend sending in your application maybe a day or two after your window opens. One forum user had a serious problem that was solved in very difficult ways. They sent their application at 3 am local time, after the last day of 3 years of marriage. At 3 am, the servers that run on different time zones were not updated, so his application was denied for being sent before the 3 years have ended. Just be safe and wait a few days, it won't change much.
Best luck.
Problem is if i put 5 years of residency / travel i will.be outside of the us for more than 2 years.
-
I started my application online about two weeks before my window open (just because it's a lot to go through and i want to make sure i get everything right). However, the online application is asking for 5 years of travel history:
Shouldn't this be 3 years of travel history and will it change once my window to apply opens ?
It's the same for work history, should this be 3 years ?
Also, will these questions change once my window opens to apply under the 3 year rule ?
I selected this option:
I am at least 18 years of age and have been a lawful permanent resident of the United States for at least 3 years. In addition, I have been married to and living with a U.S. citizen spouse for the last 3 years, and my spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years at the time I filed my Form N-400.

***** moved to K1 forum for now ******
Op, I hope that is the right forum to move it to- I am a bit unsure, as you mention the K1 (which it shouldn't affect ) but also the N-400, which is citizenship and you can only apply for that after several years of being a greencard holder.
Hey.no worries.
I meant I came on a K1 visa and before I got it I applied for diversity visa to avoid the lengthy process for it, but I'm applying for N400 soon.
-
Is there a form on n400 that i need to disclose it or anything like that ?
-
Hey guys, just curious,
Does diversity visa (green card lottery) application affect my application for n400 ?
I applied for it while I was still in a relationship with my wife now (in hopes to speed up the process of coming here and avoiding the k1 costs etc) but of course didn't get picked.
Edit- I may have posted this in the wrong sub, sorry , mods can you please move it to the correct one ?

Did you receive a case status update that you were going to receive biometrics? Or did you just ask for biometrics without knowing if you needed it?
Before i made e request there was no update. I didn't check my case status online yet. I did, however, receive an email stating that there is no update to my case....hope that helps.

Just an update-
I wrote earlier about contacting uscis if you did not receive your biometric appointment letter.
Well, about 2weeks after receiving a reply from them via email I receiced my biometric appointment in mail on Saturday 13th. App scheduled for April 22nd.
So, again, make an inquiry.

Yes wait. Why even contact them about it? I mean if they want it from you they will contact you.
I believe that it is a mistake to just wait 2-3 months for them to contact me when it could very likely be that they already mailed an appointment letter but that it got lost in the mail. It does not hurt to contact them and see what is going in, this is not 2 weeks after receiving extension letter, it's two months.
I have read on the forum that a lot of people receive their appointment letter even before their extension letter.
So, i encourage anyone to contact uscis and not find oneself in a situation where mail got lost and they did not go to their appointment because of that- avoiding trouble down the road. You really do not make any sense when you say "wait for them to contact you", are they going to give me a call or send me an email when the appointment is made? If so perfect, however ,I believe they only sent appointment letter, and do not take this personally, but your suggestion is not a good one.
We pay money ,spend time on this, stress, wait, and this is not a step where you are waiting for them to make a decission and you just have to wait - they already mailed an extension letter and the next, if not immediate, step is to have the fingerprint done-if they require, if not, then i want a confirmation that they do not need it.
Again, I contact them to make sure that no appointment has been made for me and no letter has been mailed or lost - because i did not receive any, yet.
-
I received my first NOA(extension letter) around Feburary 10th.
So far no appointment for biometric. I made an e-request online for no delivery of notice for appointment and USCIS replied saying "
We will reschedule your Application Support Center appointment and mail your appointment notice to the address provided with this inquiry as soon as our resources allow. If you do not receive within 30 days, contact us. We apologize for the delay in scheduling your appointment."
Should i just wait for them to mail me an appointment or try to walk in with this notice into an ASC ? I have one near work.
I don't want to end up getting denied because i didn't do biometrics- however, i have been reading on the forum (oct 2018 fillers) that more and more biometrics are being reused.
Thanks.

Fingerprint is mandatory. Check your letter your receive very well as one should be the biometric appointment. It should be on the bottom of the page
I have read that in some cases they are able to use fingerprints from AOS- there have been reportings of this on the forums.
Can anyone confirm? Also how long to wait from the day I received my extension letter to contact them about the fingerprint appointment and see what is going on

A lot of people have 2 year green card with pending i751 and pending n400.
The extension letter which is good for 18months will expire for a lot of people in a month, two, three, etc.
A lot of states give you a drivers license based on that 18months extension. So once that expires so does your DL, and you have to get a passport stamp to renew it.
Hope that makes it clearer.
So, will we be able to get a passport stamp for those who have a 2year green card with pending i751?
