If this is in regards to an I-130 you filed for your brother, then there is nothing to update.

Once the I-130 is approved and NVC opens his case file online (about a year before his PD becomes current), he will update all the information via the DS-260.

Correct, this is in regards to the I-130 -- got it, no need to update until 1 yr before his Priority Date becomes current. Thank you!

in general you don't need to do anything for your brother.
Address change is targeted for aliens, non USCs. Your brother needs to change the address either through that link or mailing

Thank you @arken, since the link only allows change for US address, I'm assuming I won't have to do anything for my brother, it is for US citizens only. So in all, I don't need to update anything for the 2 mentioned reasons.

Thank you @powerpuff for moving the post to the correct location.

  3. I checked the forms, and it looks like the form only allows change of address for the petitioner (me). https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/addressChange.do

I also couldn't find any forms to update he had a son about 3 years ago.

Do I need to update his file at all? If so, it looks like I may have to call in or find the correct form? Thank you all in advance!

  4. The strange thing is, we already sent in the Civil Surgeon signed form.. but it was missing a check mark.. A CHECK MARK.. then we sent in the paper work with a check mark. Now they're asking us and the civil surgeon to send in ALL the paperwork again. Saying they need it all from the civil surgeon with the check mark. How does this make any sense?

    ###### government.

  5. I'm a bit confused on what to do next since some of the steps seem repetitive.

So she came to the US on Aug 5th, 2016 on the K1 visa. We got married on Aug 27th, 2016.

I know we should now be applying for the SSN first:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn (We already got married, do we use the new last name or her maiden name?)

After the marriage license arrives, then we'll do K1AOS

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos (G-325a was already filled before, do we refill this document, also do we use the new last name?)

  6. This process is riddled with government-quality mistakes and difficulties..

First the immigration website doesn't work properly, if you've ever applied for a different visa, the system doesn't let you register.

When there are links, it's broken. The wording is confusing. And now this, if you live far away from the medical exam hospital, you have to travel there, a week prior, then travel back again for the interview.

In the Philippines, that's 4 trips if you don't live in Manila!

It's just really annoying.. sorry have to really vent.

"It is important to complete your medical examination at least a week before your interview appointment"

Anyone else on here that's going through this BS?

  7. I'm a US citizen, she's in the Philippines.

We'd like to get married in the Philippines before the K1 Visa process is approved. Is this possible, or would it make the process more difficult?

Also, can we marry in the Philippines after the K1 visa is approved also? So she'll be traveling to the US with a K1 Visa and we'll have a civil wedding in the States.
