Make sure you bring your marriage certificate with you and PRESENT IT TO IMMIGRATION UPON ENTRY and if she has her green card then present that as well. I can not say that again because it is important, otherwise than that you will be fine. They never asked for paperwork for our daughter at all when we went.

Are you all flying back together or will your asawa stay back to spend some time with family?

To be clear... my son is from a previous marriage.   His mother had to sign the application for his passport and have it notarized along with copies of her ID since she was not present when applying for his passport (both parents need to show up for a minor childs passport application)

The 3 of us, Me, my son and my wife  (not my sons mother)   will be traveling together and leaving to return to the U.S. together.   So I suppose I can bring the marriage certificate.

My main concern is that they will not ask for documentation proving that I have my son's mother's permission to travel like I had to get with the passport application.

These are the only requirements that I see on the PH Immigration site:

    9. What are arrival requirements for Philippine-destined alien tourists?

9.1. For aliens with diplomatic or bilateral agreements with the Philippines:

    1. Unexpired passport;
    2. Unexpired entry visa; and
    3. Validly-issued return ticket.

You are talking your son with your EX wife .. a USC.

I would tend to think you would need a letter from your EX (the mother) giving you permission to travel with the child.  But that is just my opinion

Correct.   The son is from my EX-Wife (USC)

So - someone else said that... but who is the agency doing the checking?    The airlines?   The PH on entry?   PH on exit?    U.S. Customs and Border?

I have a feeling if I call and ask someone they will ask for a blood sample from the other parent as well.

What I will do is call them and ask for their policy on parents traveling with children.   This has to be posted somewhere.

  3. Nathan -

How did the travel for your family go?   Im in a similar boat....

Me, my wife (K1) and my son (12yo) will be going end of June....

    We all have our passports.

My son's mother signed off so he could obtain his passport in absentia... she travels around alot so its hard to get ahold of her but eventually we did.

Is there anything we will need for the 3 of us to enter?    Did they ask your wife for the paperwork of your daughter?

We will be flying Asiana - not sure that matters or not.

  4. My question is this -

Is there any special permission or clearances or documents needed to enter the Philippines?   My son's mother has notarized her authorization for his passport - he now has his passport valid for another 5 years.

Someone mentioned that I might need some special permission to prove Im not kidnapping him.

What the hell.   I mean - his mother had to sign and notarize paperwork for his U.S. passport.   Now we need to drag her to the airport with us or what?   It was pulling teeth trying to get her to get the passport.   I mean its not a comfortable situation us discussing all of our travel plans together and we only need her signatures?

I already have the flight tix thru Asiana Airlines for end of June 2018.    Please advise if I will be having any trouble.   It will be the 3 of us:  me, my son and my new wife (just got her 2 year green card from K1 visa)

    Second question -

My wife now has her new PH passport with her new married name, she has the green card for 2 years... any problems coming and going back to the PH?

Yes, but unfortunately, going into the DMV is often a different level of hell than the SSA as a state agency has ever provided immigrants. They can try with an NOA1, but good luck getting them to figure that one out. DE is a little more liberal than we are, so the OP can give it a try.

Here in California... It's a negative on the NOA1.

If you act quickly you can use your i94 if it hasn't expired... But will you really have an SSN by then?   This is for a regular CA issued drivers license.

I then got irate and started shouting "How the hell is it that you provide drivers licenses for illegals but someone that came in correctly is held up by red tape?

She said we could go the AB60 route (undocumented person's drivers license) but that you will be stuck with that for 5 years.   Cannot be used for ID/job verification or legal presence purposes.  She then said it would be hell because in some system's u are recorded as undocumented but then because you are going they immigration process...  It would just be a mess.

So we walked out and decided to wait a couple more weeks... Her interview is scheduled for Sept 17th I believe.

  6. Ok - filing for AOS after a K1 marriage.    As the sponsor/petitioner I have noticed that there are folks doing the following items:

    • Sending G-325A for the U.S. Citizen Spouse with the i864
    • Sending 3 years of Tax Returns/W2s as the supporting documentation.

Reading the official instructions from USCIS - I cannot find anywhere that states the USC must file a G-325A with their i864;    I also only see where the requirement for me is only 1 year of TaxReturns/W2s.

Am I correct or missing something?

Yeah that's totally not me either, I am like you I like going out and exploring. So I usually take the motorbike and go up into mountains driving, and I really like that even though there are NPA up there I do safe. I told my wife that next we go there we will take the mountain roads from her town to Maragusan. I have never been that far up and I really want to go.

I was under the impression the NPA were not really an issue... correct?     I thought it was the only the abu sayef that  you had to worry about.

Just an update, my fiancée is here happily in the US...we are excited to finally get away from LDR and see each other daily!

Congrats.   We are two days out from her arrival in San Francisco.  She's packing and keeps sending me pictures of her packing.  LOL.  She gonna find out about 50F weather.

I hope a Tuesday arrival is not too packed at the airport/customs.

  9. We are beating a dead horse at this point.   I think the OP has had his question answered long ago.   Any further additions is just for sheer entertainment purposes now.   Someone should close this thread.

Any adult working a job of any sort knows taxes are to be paid... And any under the table arrangements are not without risk.  You cannot migrate to the U.S or help someone do so with such shady arrangements.  You need to refocus and get your priorities straightened out.

From the medical they will give her the CD, and the DS form again.

The sealed envelope should have been given to her by the embassy when she received her visa. If she only received her passport w/ visa back and not the envelope then she needs to contact the embassy quick and see where it is.

She received this from the 2GO (embassy)

    1) A Large clear plastic bag with a cut shaped corner with yellowish envelope inside stating "To be opened only by Immigration officer... etc.. etc..."

    2) Filipinas Pasaporte

    3) Immigrant Visa Branch letter saying "WARNING"  "Do not open"

    Does all that look correct?

She claims she has immunization records and CD

I think thats it... she should be good to enter then and we shouldnt need any other doc's from what I hear...

Ensure she has a copy of her vaccinations from St Lukes, they are pretty good at giving a copy of it...the DS32 something, can't remember the number off top of my head.

Long as she does not have any criminal records, then no she does not need a police certificate or anything for AOS process.

Yes, a few copies of her BC is a good idea to bring along also. For AOS they just ask for a copy of it but still.

Hey wasnt there an envelope that she is supposed to have that is supposed to remain UNOPENED and you are supposed to hand that over to ICE when you enter?

She said they only gave her a CD or something for her medical.

  12. Ok - so we have a Entry date of 3/7/17.

When she files i485 or any other forms down the road - will we ever be needing ANY other police clearances/NBI etc...????

The reason I ask is because she will need to get them now before her flight in one week.

I know she will need a couple of B/C copies - but is there ANYTHING else she needs to grab?   Once shes here shes HERE.   Cant go back to fetch stuff.

Hi! My hubby and I are planning on a 3-week vacation in the Philippines this April. I just received my AP/EAD combo card last Feb21, I do not have my green card yet. I know many have re-entered the US using the AP without a problem in the past. Since Trump became president, I (and many others) am discouraged and afraid to leave the US using an AP. Is there anyone here with a recent (2017)  travel to the PH using an AP and was able to re-enter without hassle?

Trump is not the monster under your bed....

Unless you make a habit of screaming Allah Ackbar while running up and down the airport terminal.

You will not have a problem.

Has anyone here flew with Emirates Airline from the Philippines to the US?? Do they allow check in at NAIA even if the credit card used belongs to my fiance in the US? He will not be traveling with me and my son cause he's in the US.

I was warned ahead of time that we will need to present the VISA that was used to purchase the tickets.   I said its MY visa and I was purchasing tickets for her flight to the U.S....

They then told me to get a COPY (SCAN) of the FRONT AND BACK of the credit card.   She will need this printed on a piece of paper - do not try to show them your phone with the scan on there.

That was with Philippine Airlines.   You might want to check with them if this will suffice.

Helo, brand new to Visa Journey. My question is pretty simple, would the Manilla Embassy have any way of verifying that my pay stubs are real besides looking at the pay stubs themselves? I have seen many posts about fake letters from bosses but not pay stubs.

I hate to say this but the penalty for willful misrepresentation (fraud)  - I *BELIEVE* its not only a DENIAL but a BAN from ever doing it.
