  1. In a few weeks, I will submit the I-751 form along with documents in hopes of getting my ten year green card. Does anyone have any advice as to what documents would be best for showing that my wife and I have a genuine marriage and live together. I am listing all the documents we have already enclosed:

    1) Copy of green card (front and back)
    2) Marriage certificate
    3) Two most recent joint tax return transcripts
    4) Copy of current lease
    5) Power bills in both our names
    6) Water bills in my name
    7) Wifi bills in wife's name
8 ) 4 most recent pay stubs showing address for both of us
    9) Front and back of health insurance cards
    10) Joint bank statements from when I received conditional gc
    11) Copy of benefit sheet from wife's employer showing health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and life insurance policies for both of us.
    12) Auto insurance sheet showing both names
    13) Rental extension for 2018-2019
    14) Front and back of driver's licenses (both show same previous address)
    15) Support letters from my wife's mother and sister

    16) Photos of us together and with wife's family. Thank you

  2. Took me 20 seconds to find...

    First official link in Google:

    http://www.transportation.wv.gov/DMV/Drivers/Pages/Drivers-Licenses.aspx

    Clearly saying:

If foreign born, valid, unexpired Department of Homeland Security (DHS) document(s) or acceptable alternatives as outlined below:

Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551) issued by DHS (or INS)

Employment authorization document (EAD) issued by DHS, Form I-766 or Form I-688B

    ...

Yes, we found that page, too. It does not tell us anything about EAD being of use for an ID card for someone who entered the U.S. using a K1 visa.... Thank you.

  3. That is what we sent. We walked down the hall of our courthouse to the records office. We paid $5 for a certified copy of our marriage certificate. It has a seal from the county and everyone else we have dealt with has accepted it. However, our request for initial evidence says they want the civil issued certificate. What are they wanting exactly? Because we sent the one you guys are talking about. The only other thing we know to do is request a state issued certificate and photocopy both it and the one we already sent from the county. Any suggestions?

  4. Hello! I just received an initial evidence request from USCIS in the mail today. It states that I need to submit a photocopy of our civil issued marriage certificate. I'm confused as to what this means exactly. I submitted an original copy from the courthouse with my documents. So...do they want a photocopy of that certificate or am I supposed to request some other type of certificate from someone? Any suggestions are most welcome. Thank you!! :)

  5. They want a "certified copy", request it from your court house.

We submitted an original copy given to us by the courthouse. It has the official seal and it cost 5 dollars. The request states to send a photocopy of the civil marriage certificate. So, we are just trying to figure out whether we are supposed to send a photocopy of the one we sent or obtain a different certificate.
