  1. I really hope this issue with updates not showing up on the App gets resolved in really depending on them showing up for my interview time as I will be going back to Canada soon.

can't you ask someone, friends or neighbors, to check the mail for you while you gone and keep you up to date if anything uscis related arrives? That would be the safest bet since you cannot really rely on the online system at this moment (greencard approved last monday, still saying case received, was the same with my ead and ap as well... online status updated like 1-2 weeks after it was approved...)

  2. Congratulations! :)

Could you tell me what is tier 2 officer? Thank you

When you call the uscis you will first get the robotvoice...

The moment you talk with an actual "human" are the customer service reps...

They kinda only know everything you can find online, or should find online (lets say you didnt get noa1 and you want to know your receipt number or if they have your case etc)

But you can take my call for example, she didnt want to transfer me at first, giving me the information that i would know more in 6 months (according to field office processing time, which i already knew since its on their website)

Sometimes you have to be a bit pushy and insist on getting to talk to a tier 2 officer (the costumer service rep might say that "they dont have any more information than i do" -> bs, dont believe it)

So the tier 2 officer which you get transferred to (expect long waiting times! Mostly with callbacks, and they will call you back)

They can dig deeper into the system and provide you more information, in case your status didn't update, uscis made an error, you noticed you made a mistake somewere, etc etc

As example of my story again, he actually saw in the system that my AOS was approved 2 days ago, and gave me some more information as well...

I hope that explains it a bit :) they can just dig a bit deeper and see more about your case

Edit: the reason why i wanted to talk to a tier 2 was simply to know what to expect timeline wise since the website never updates for me... and I want to join the Navy and marry right after training... it is already hard to plan a wedding let alone when you dont know a possible timeframe... so with that reason the tier 2 officer was very helpful and kind :)

  3. Now you just need to hope they print and issue your GC in good time! Some people seem to be having a nightmare just getting the physical card even after receiving the approval weeks ago.

I'm sure you will have yours in double quick time!

Well... the tier 2 officer said that if i dont get a tracking number online i should call back and ask for tier 2 in a week for the tracking number...

The cards i see people have troubles with (including myself before the news of today) is the EAD to arrive after approval (60 days max for them to get u that card...wich is crazy long...)

Especially the people with approvals from end april...thats just plain sad

  4. SanneW, that's unbelievable!!! CONGRATS!! So happy for you! Don't forget us now that you're famous! haha

    NEVER haha...

Still can't believe it... too good to be true you know... eventho the guy took a long time checking it (im sure he triple checked it since he was really surprised too that it was this fast)

So now waiting for the actual approval in my mail or I don't believe it yet... it really is too good to be true...

But you know, all I wanted was to know what I was waiting on, RFE, waiver, interview... so I would know a bit of a time >< I was so jalouse of you all having notifications while there was complete silence for me online...

I do hope that more will keep following, and wish everyone with interviews luck, but i'm sure you'll all be fine!

(btw, I did not send anything extra with the package, and I was certain to get an RFE for the affidavit since I forgot to write some numbers, and didn't send in a copy of the passport, tho logic that my husband is usc or we wouldnt apply for the greencard anyways, right? but you never know with USCIS.....)

  5. WOW. Just WOW....

So I had a feeling today, went to the mailbox but nothing. My husband had a feeling 2 days ago, which is funny because...

I called USCIS and asked for a tier 2 officer, the girl first didn't want to put me through because she told me everything they knew, a tier 2 wouldn't be able to tell me anything more and she helped me out enough.

I insisted to be put through to a tier 2 officer, I was pretty direct but I really didn't want to hear what I already know (my field office was at september files so I would have to wait for months for my greencard to be approved)

What I wanted to know was, where the application was at, expecting RFE, getting a waiver, getting send to a field office. I just wanted to know where I was at.

Got transfered, got called back and so I asked the tier 2 officer this question.

A long waiting later in which I expected they lost my file and things were going down.... He told me I had 3 APPROVED cases, the 765, 131 AND 485.

So my greencard got approved, 2 days ago. No updates online and I can expect the approval notice in the mail anytime now, followed by the greencard in 1-2 weeks.

I cannot believe it, I asked the officer so many times if he was SURE about it. He was surprised himself since it has only been 2 months!

I am crying, jumping, running, the stress leaving my body I feel like I am flying!

So don't worry too much about the system not updating, apparently it just doesn't update!

  6. According to your timeline it appears that you only have a conditional GC. When my husband went to sign up for the air force, the recruiter refused because his greencard was only valid for 1 year and 11 more months. You have to have legal status beyond your enlistment period (2 years minimum). He wanted to join any branch so we checked the rest and found the same thing on their website. So you've got at least 2 more years to study for the Navy test. What's your plan b?

The Navy recruiter I'm in contact with told me I can join until my 2 year greencard expires, as long as it had 2 years on it... I asked it because I am worried about being physically fit..

But I am still going to join straight away since I am tired of waiting... So I wont be able to let anyone know...

Websites say a lot, you learn more when you ask questions, thats what recruiters are for...

Airforce is the only branch not taking conditional greencards

Btw keep in mind that the jobs for non-citizens are limited

  7. Today I called the 1-800 number for an update on our travel document and EAD card.

    I was told

That our case was being processed by the National Benefits center and that they are working on travel documents applications from December 2nd

Our application was received February 16. The girl on the phone said we aren't "outside of normal processing" until the date on the website is past our date. I thought these AP documents were a max of 90 days though....

Has anyone else received their AP that are being processed by the national benefits center.

Just about ready to throw towel in on this whole process. It's been 3 months and we are more than anxious for the work And travel documents. :/

I filed in march and got EAD/AP approved... Might want to ask for a tier 2? The people at the beginning normally only see what u can see online

  8. Me too....

Also, to add insult to injury, we have a new mail carrier who doesn't deliver our mail until 2 in the afternoon!!! Good grief, we should all have medals. Nothing in yesterdays mail, fingers crossed for today.

Ye, I might be super lucky living across the post office =) I have my mail in the mailbox before I even wake up haha.

So my morning routine is getting dissapointed. To be honest, I rather have it in the evening, so my day never gets ruined by an empty mailbox, instead I will be wondering and hoping all day

  9. I'm wondering has anyone's USCIS APP updated info?

I got my approval letters but nothing updated on the APP cause normally the tracking# would be on there

Same for me MASH... no updates at all online (website or app) neither did i get any txt or email. Only regular mail...

I wish we had those fancy "card in production" and "card mailed" updates

But for now I guess we are in the dark, hoping

  10. I have completely written off the case tracker and USCIS website. Instead I just stalk the mailbox now. I got EAD/AP approval 4/28 and no card yet. So frustrating. I am sorry for those of you who haven't heard anything at all. But after waiting so long and getting that letter I got so excited and thought that meant card was coming! Guess it really meant just sit and wait. Maybe we will print it and mail it someday...

ye right... like, in the coming 60 days, because you know, work is overrated. You just got married and try to start a life together, but then again, work is not needed at all. Just sit at home, and wait, just keep waiting, that's your life the first coming months.

I got super excited too about the approval, but I don't understand it. When you are approved to work, can't you just work. It's stupid you have to wait for the card. You are approved to work, but you are not allowed to yet.

It is just plain frustrating, seeing my husband work his ### off and not being able to do a thing. I keep hoping to be lucky and receive the card sooner rather than later.

If only the online tracker would update to "card being produced" or something, so you know where your case is at.

Or if only we knew where our AOS is at, and at what state of the process, what they are doing.
