The employee is a disgrace. If she did that too me I'd put her on her #######. -

With all this talk of disarmament I think im gonna and buy another gun or two to add to my collection today. Not because I need one or even want one but just because I can and it feels good to get under a liberal's skin.
Kind of like how I used to buy meat to rile up vegetarians. Just kidding, why would anyone do that.

Actually, in the past, I have argued that the media should voluntarily not report the details of the maniac as you put it, due to the Wagner Effect.
Yeah maybe not that stuff
-
Honestly, I think the 24 hour networks secretly love bad things occurring. That gives them 10+ days of news cycle.
Yeah but a load of people getting gunned down by a maniac should make the headlines.
-
Because the news is a business. Death sells better.
They sell a lot of it.. Don't think mass shootings make the news because an editor wants to sell papers
-
What part of I don't carry/own did you not understand?
Wasn't talking about you
-
The news headlines don't.

I try not to put everyone in the same category. I hate to be generalized, so I don't do this to others. There are people who own and carry responsibly. And then there's the monsters.
Just think guns have done more harm than good in USA and if you're into it then you're part of the problem.

Life is better when you live and let live. Accept people are religious and show some respect for that even if you don't believe what they do.
Not talking about extremists but people who find value in religion to live their lives. I'm not religious but I don't go around calling people cowards because they happen to worship and go to church.
You sound to me like you have something to prove. Not believing doesn't mean you're better.

Listen, its not about being an expert of anything. This is a forum for the discussion of opinions. If we all state our opinions and then simply respond with a "why?" there won't be any discussion, just people shouting opinions.
Sometimes that's all your going to get
I'm not trying to change your perspective, just giving you a different one.
I don't own or carry myself, but I don't knock people who do. If you're a collector or what not, that's your prerogative. What I'm against are the knuckleheads who have guns looking for a confrontation. As we say here, I'm not anti-gun, I'm anti-idiot with a gun.
If the NRA represents gun owners I say there's a lot of idiots out there with guns

Because when we express opinions we like to discuss them and back them up with facts. If you don't want to, thats fine but I'm not sure why you are wasting your time in this forum if thats the case.
I don't like the whole 'we' thing here, as if I can't say what I think unless I justify it to a consensus of armchair experts. People here talk about facts but they don't seem to know the difference between them and opinion.
How about I do a bit of googling and post a few links and numbers. Would that make me an expert?
She grew in in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Memphis, Tennessee. Given some of the stories she's actually worked up the courage to tell me, I can't argue she DIDN'T live in a war zone.
Out of my experience I'm afraid but I've seen The Wire so I can imagine. Don't think owning a gun because other people have one so I should too is a very good argument.

its seems that it is perfectly ok, to make broad statements about islam (which is sort of a big deal given the current climate) however stating that religious people are spiritual cowards for wanting the answers planted for them in their noggins, and brainwashing their children with the same nonsense is unacceptable.
you can remove this comment too, and i'll leave the thread. atheists have never been allowed to voice their opinions regarding religion and shutting them down has always been acceptable.
carry on with your islam bashing! pretty popular right now!
People can believe what they want so long as they don't impose it on others or abuse others rights. Atheism isn't better than religion as a belief system but some people sure seem to think it is.

If a person has one in their home for protection or if they're an avid hunter, I'm for that. I'm not for the people who carry just so they can "win" the argument or go places they normally wouldn't unarmed just to prove a point.
I can be a target shooter in London if I want to join a gun club, there are rules for this.
Hunting I don't agree with, especially trophy hunting. The only people I think who should legitimately have guns in the home are the farmers.
Self defence? Sounds good on paper but I don't live in a war zone and not interested in creating one.

enlighten us as to your basis for such a claim.
Why?
-
Owning guns is irresponsible.

There are certainly bad parts of Brum.
Bad parts anywhere. That Fox story was pony
-
Martial law means the army is on the streets enforcing a shoot/arrest on sight curfew
-
I do not watch Fox news, very one sided news and they are always pushing their own agenda.
Maybe there are parts of the city that I did not see that are bad news but don't you get that in every big city.
Birmingham isn't a bad city.

meh, i don't buy it. the most upstanding characters i've had the pleasure of knowing in this life have no god, no imaginary friend. the idea that religion makes a person compassionate and moral is an utter lie.
That's what religion is about - giving people meaning. A good thing for some people. If it works for them I have no problem with it.
