geekyg0ddess got a reaction from Chocobo in I feel like I've been lost
Not sure if this helps, but I guess so you know there are others on the same boat as you...
May 2019 - Applied for I-751
Feb 2020 - Got a notice that my case was being transferred to Potomac
Mar 2020 - Applied for N-400 citizenship
Dec 2020 - I initiated adding an I-1551 stamp because my letter was expiring in Jan 2021
May 2021 - Contacted my congressperson to ask for help
Jun 2021 - Received an update from my congressperson that my case is still pending
And now OCT 2021 --- still no updates
My I-1551 stamp is expiring in DEC 2021

This happened to me. I didn't even realize nothing stuck until ONE file did stick, which made me question why the rest didn't. Thank goodness that one doc showed up, because that was my cue to reupload everything....

Same here! I-751 is still in process. Applied for N-400 anyway. We're entitled to do so anyway, right?

EAC here but got transferred to Potomac. It's been exactly a year and still no ROC approval.
I applied for N-400 today anyway. I put it off for a week, partly because I was trying to wait for the ROC approval. But whatever, I decided to start the application anyway. Surprisingly, it's the easiest application I ever had to do. Everything's done online, too.
Good luck everyone!

That's what I thought! I'm ready for it if needed, but I might try without it first. Just want to be done with all these documentation... Thank you so much for your quick reply!!! 😊
I'm glad you got your NOA so quickly! That's awesome!

geekyg0ddess reacted to Nick jason in I-751 - Travel abroad when Conditional Permanent Resident is Expired, I-751 is still processing
Just wanted to share a update for all who are wondering. My wife is a Indian citizen, she has a expired green card and is awaiting her 10 year green card. They have given her form i-797 which allows for work and travel while she awaits her new green card. We are travelling to mexico in October 2017. For all whom are in the same situation, you do need a Mexican visa. Travelling with a expired GC and form i-797 will not be enough to enter mexico. The visa process is simple, some states require a appointment and others don't. Be sure to look at the general and tourist visa requirements. In addition to what is listed, if he/she is applying as your dependent you will need original and copy of marriage cert. As well as a copy of your American passport/ID. Still remember to bring your expired GC and i-797 on your trip as you will need it to re-enter the United States.
I Have heard and read stories where the visa is not needed, and even speaking to USCIS they said we were fine without it. However, that doesn't mean the customs official in Mexico will feel the same way. It only cost us $36.00...small price to pay and easy process. Hope this helps!

If the letter is still valid, you shouldn't even need the stamp.
As I understand things, the stamp is what one gets when the I751 is still pending and the extension letter is about to expire.
Good luck!

Didn't send one. But I would be ready to, if needed. Most people say that this isn't necessary if you have enough other proof. They usually look for this ONLY when you don't have enough proof.
